      It appears that someone purporting to be Mitch Gallagher is offering "free giveaway prizes" to the first several commenters here. Highly suspect this is phasing scam unfortunately.
      SWEETWATER, what say you?

    I’ve had my Alvarez regent for over 30 years and it still plays and sounds way better than it should for the price I paid for it. Definitely punches above its weight class. I’d love to get my hands on an Alvarez Master Build.

    I've always found the Alvarez Yairi instruments to be of truly exceptional quality and value.

    Just about to buy my first guitar but haven’t decided yet. So far the one guitar I went back to several times at the store was an Alvarez. After watching this video about the history and the love that goes into the instrument building I think I may have just made my choice.

    Sweetwater had 48 month financing in December of 2022. I took the plunge and ordered 3 Yairi guitars. I ordered the model Mitch is playing with 50 year old vintage mahogany back and sides, the OM model with top back and sides with vintage mahogany and Brad Davis signature model.

    I have the artist model from the early-mid 90’s. Never needed to have it set up after purchasing it new. Has on set of 12’s and tuned Eb. Plays and sounds great to this day.

      Hey guy. Check out my old Alvarez guitars on my page. Got a 1988 Alvarez fusion pro series 1590 my father gave me. Rock on brother! 🎉

    They make incredible parlor models. A $350 Alvarez sounded better than my Taylor koa mini.

    Alvarez guitars are absolutely the best sounding guitars I have ever played. I’ve owned an Alvarez Yairi and I have never heard another guitar come close. I ended up getting an affordable AD60CE and it was also better than the other brands’ $1000 plus models. Alvarez does use Yairi DNA in all their models!

    The "direct contact" pin block inserted directly into the guitar's top ( looks similar to a single coil pick up ) along with the separate bridge is hands down the best innovation for acoustic guitars since C.F. Martin invented the Dreadnaught. Sure, a fully adjustable truss rod is up there too, but it has no bearing on the sound like the direct contact pin system does.

    The high tension/strong break-angle bridge design allows for lower string action, and kind of encourages a lower action. If you have a normal gentle break-angle and your nut is shaved down almost flush with the bridge, you lose tone and volume. But Alvarez guitars tend to come with action that's more like electric guitars, which is so nice because I always like how they're set up and don't need to touch them.

      It's directly because of the direct-contact pin system in conjunction with the bridge being separate. The pins have more contact with the guitar's top and the bridge plate this way, and also causes the steeper breaking angle of the strings across the saddle, thus improving the sound & resonance. I believe it also results in never having to worry about the bridge pulling off or the guitar's top to to start pulling up over the years. In my opinion, this was the best invention by Yairi since C.F. Martin invented the Dreadnaught.

    I've got a 1990 Yairi DY-77 that I bought new, and it is a wonderful instrument. I've never had to adjust the truss rod in the neck and the action is still low without frett buzz. Sounds better every year.

    The only way to make your Alvarez guitar special is to buy one that was made 30 years ago.

    • @howabouthetruth2157
      @howabouthetruth2157 Рік тому

      If it's not from the Yairi factory, it's not "special". Only the Alvarez guitars that are handmade at the original Yairi factory are the great ones.
