I’ve watched several videos about casting off, but this video is the first one that was helpful. Thanks for filming it and explaining it in a way that’s easy to see and understand.
This was the best video I’ve seen for casting off! Thank you so much for the suggestion to hold the yarn down with your finger for the next stitch. I finally got a piece off without dropping stitches.
Omg you don’t even know how many tutorials I been trying to find that make sense and actually works for me. Thank you so much! ❤ You actually a life saver.
BEST CASTING OFF VIDEO BY FAR! I'm brand new to machine knitting, so I've been searching and watching many different videos. I found hobbyists either rush very quickly over what I'm sure BECOMES easy steps eventually, or explains the same step many times over. You are precise in your explanations and video footage, even showing some of your own mistakes we may encounter as we learn. Thank you! I think I'll START with your videos first! Agreed with all the other comments, this is a great and very helpful cast off video. Too many people speak too quickly or go so fast you can't watch and do it at the same time. Thanks! Will definitely check out some more of your videos.
Thank you so so much for a video that I can see exactly what you are doing for my casting off! This is the best video by far and I have watched a LOT of them. Blessings
I watched 4 videos before this one, this was by far the best! The other videos showed the girl with all her makeup bit I couldn't see what she was doing, I kept failing on my cast on until I watched your video! So clear with easy instructions and easy to follow along. Thank you!
Thanks for watching! I'm so glad I could help you! I make it my goal to get right to the point in my videos so, if you ever need additional help or project ideas for this machine, I have a dedicated playlist here on the channel. 😊 Happy Making!
Thank you so much for your videos. I find they are the best ones to watch on YT...... I love listening to your lovely voice! It makes understanding the instructions so much clearer! 🙏x
Thank you for sharing...I was at my wits end I bought the sentro wanting to learn the craft been crocheting for a minute but wanted to try something new. Your instructions are clear and simple to follow not too much talking (been running into that on other tutorials...ya ya ya ya ya🙄)you stuck to the subject.....thank you thank you thank you again!!!!!!! HAPPY KNITTING/CROCHETING!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I'm so glad I could help you! 💖 The talking thing annoys me too so I try to keep it to a minimum here on the channel. Feel free to check out my "How to use the Sentro Knitting Machine" playlist or " Yarns that work on the Sentro" playlist here on the channel! Happy making 💖
Your the first video i have seen not crank and go at same time interesting ... I might try it this way bec im ALWAYS losing a stitch somewhere some how.. Thanks for the video !! You have got yourself a new subscriber right here !! Thx again
Hi! Yeah, I ended up casting off this way because I'd lose stitches and it was also a comfort thing. I hope this method works out for you! Welcome aboard
I really appreciate your lesson. I’ve botched more than one perfect beenie when casting off. I was under the impression that casting off is done on the R side of the white hook. This has resulted in a mess for me. Also, thanks for making sure the machine was in focus. I appreciated your efforts to give people a perfect view. Peace, AM PS: Red Heart Pound of Love was a disaster on the machine. Caught constantly on the hooks.
Oh my gosh thank you so much for this video ! I just bought a knitting machine. I have never knitted before machine or otherwise. My first project is a hat but I have had to redo it 4 or 5 times already because I kept messing up the cast off part.
Hi Brittney! I'm so happy that this video was helpful! I'm also a crocheter first and the instructions for this machine were vague at best 😅. I hope you'll enjoy my sentro tutorial playlist as I do different work throughs and projects! Patience and practice are definitely key with any type of knitting. Good luck and happy Making!💕
Brilliant ! Thank you. Compare manufacturers' instructions which are seless and have seriously misleading errors. Other videos I've seen were very poor compared to this. Thanks again.
Hi Jenny, Thanks for watching! 😊 I have a few hat making tutorials on my channel, this one is similar to the hat I was working on in this video: ua-cam.com/video/G0hWHH6QFik/v-deo.html
Hi Niki, Thank you! There's a couple of different ways to do the brim on these hats. I made a tutorial for how to get the double knitted look (like the one in this video) and I did a couple on adding a crochet brim after casting off the machine.
Thank you for this video! I have been looking for a cast of video where I can see the yarn! Other videos you can't see the yarn! I greatly appreciate this video!!
Hi ! You make it look so easy. I watched a couple of times before I got brave enough to try your method. The first time I tried it, it didn't work which is why I watched again. Second time doesn't work either. Maybe because I am working with an Innovations machine and not a Sentro? I picked it up at the thrift store for just 3.00 and in the last week I've made over a dozen hats plus at 14 foot (830 rows) Dr Who scarf for my husband. Proud to say not one stitch dropped! I do step by step in your video and that last row you go around without the yarn only releases my work from the hooks! Finding and picking up those stitches is nothing short of a magical feat hahaha. I took the big handle off the top of the machine thinking I'd need the space to grab those stitches but there's nothing to grab because my hat falls off. Am I doing something wrong? Love your video by the way!
Hi Brenda! That was a heck of a deal on your knitting machine. Sadly, I don't know much about other knitting machines to know that answer. Sounds like you've been very productive though with yours, a 14 foot scarf?!!? That's so cool! Thank you for watching. I've never heard of the innovations machine but perhaps it has different instructions. I'm sorry I can't be of help here, best of luck though!
Love your videos. Any suggestions on how to knit a tie? They were popular back in the 70’s. Seems to be coming back in style. Any suggestions? Maybe a tutorial?
Hi, Yes the brim is a part of the row count! I'm glad you enjoyed this tutorial 😊 there's another back on my channel that deals with the brimmed hats specifically. Good luck!
Hi Shirley, Yes, I'm just threading the yarn through the loops on the machine. For hats and some other project, yeah I just pull the stitches tight and weave in my ends 😊
I've watched this video so many times and I'm still doing something wrong. After I'm done, I do the crank around one time. But when I start to cast off the stitches, there's still a stitch wrapped around the hook part.
Hi Marina, I make money with this machine in a few ways. I've hashed those out a bit on my blog: www.infiniticraftingcompany.com/post/making-money-with-the-sentro-knitting-machine
I have watched so many casting off videos, and this is the first one that was clear, easy to follow, and gave me a clean finished product!!

How do you stitch up the edge once you take it off?

I'm glad it was helpful! I certainly try to get straight to the point in most of my videos. Thank you for watching 💖
Are you picking stitch behind loop or front loop to loop

Hi FiFi, I have a tutorial for that back on my channel ❤️ there's actually a dedicated playlist for all my Sentro tutorials!
i am during my very first project without a machine, Can you show casting off without a machine?
am i right in thinking you are just threading the needle through the yarn????? then in your case you will pull the sts tight and finish off.
Hi Shirley,
Yes, I'm just threading the yarn through the loops on the machine. For hats and some other project, yeah I just pull the stitches tight and weave in my ends 😊
Thank you sooo much! 🎉🎉
Glad I could help!
Does it only do stocking stitch ? Or can you so rib stitch ?
By default it only does stockinette stitch. Some people will manipulate the fabric later for a ribbing effect
Thank you thank you thank you thank you!
You are so welcome!
THANK U SM 🎉🎉
You're welcome!!!

I've watched this video so many times and I'm still doing something wrong. After I'm done, I do the crank around one time. But when I start to cast off the stitches, there's still a stitch wrapped around the hook part.
That happens sometimes with some yarns. Is it just the one hook, or multiple?
@@InfinitiCraftingCo all of them. I just finished another one to try again. I keep watching your videos cause they're the best!!!
@@dothesmokypokey are you being sure to crank an entire row without yarn before casting off?
I appreciate that so much! ♥️
@@InfinitiCraftingCo I swear I did but I just finished this one and it's perfect, all because of your videos!!!! I'm gonna say maybe I forgot. 😂😂😂😂
Tried didn't work still dropped stiches
Why do you do a row with yarn off before you start to cast off?
Hi!
You do that to release the stitches from inside the machine, so you can pluck them off in the next step.
What happened to the sound?
The complaint I have about this machine is the COUNTER DOES NOT WORK! BRAND NEW! NEVER MADE A COMPLETE PROJECT YET! 🤬🤬😇
Do you know how to make money with the machine
