Have been knitting for 65 years. Always been annoyed by the staircase, especially when you have to insert a sleeve. The seam easily gets bumpy. Wow! Amazing. Thank you from 🇩🇰
This couldn't come at a better time! I'm just about to start a neckline, and I always have a problem with stairs! Now I'm going to practice that on a swatch until I'm confortable, then apply to my WIP. Thank you so much.
After 60 years of ending each neckline with crocheting sc. to hide the jagged line, I learned something new. No jagged lines to cover up. Thank you very much, so smart.
Wow! That is so beautiful! Thank you for the tutorial, by the way I bought a couple of your patterns will purchase more! This channel is my favorite knitting channel.
Thank you, Norman!!! This Is great! I was waiting for this video since you mentioned you would upload it last week on your other channel...! Now I can take up my poncho project again and create the perfect neckline... U R the best!
you show this super clearly in this video. I sometimes use this approach and at other times I make decreases away from the edge (works only when decreasing by 1 st like for raglans). great video
Norman, thanks so much, again! Your channel is a gold mine! I was binge watching your videos over the weekend, and each tutorial is full of super helpful content. Whenever I’ll encounter a knitting problem in the future, I won’t panic anymore, I know I can just visit your channel to find a solution presented by Norman, the master knitter👨🎓🙏🙏🫶🏻🫶🏻❤
Greetings from France ❤ CONGRATULATIONS 😊. I love the way you explain. Easy to follow and understand. I have never tried this bind off. Zooming in and filming are EXCELLENT. Thanks for sharing, caring and making me SMILE. Beary hugs from my Newfoundland and a big hug from your fan in France. 🤗
Oh, thank you, thank you, THANK YOU! 😘I have been knitting for about 50 years now and have ALWAYS been annoyed at the "staircase" that has become when you decrease the sleeves. It becomes so much more difficult to get a nice (invisible) seam when sewing together sleeves and front, back piece.😊

Çok güzel bir yöntem. Bunu bize öğrettiğin için çok teşekkür ederim. Oyuntuların merdiven gibi şekli hiç içime sinmiyordu. Kolu birleştirmek için dikerken çok zorluk çekiyordum. Tekrar teşekkürler. Videonuzu kardeşime de gönderiyorum.
Excellent result! What do you do when you no longer have stitches to bind off at either end, do you just knit (or purl) that last stitch without slipping it before you turn?
@@nimbleneedlestwo Thanks! What I mean is, when it it time to stop sloping and just work straight, I don't process the edge stitch as a slip, I just work it?
hm....proobably because you stretch them out too much. Just let them sort of drop over on the other needle instead of inserting the right needle all the way in.
I’ve been knitting for 55 years and have never heard of this. What a game changer! Thank you for sharing!
Nearly 50 years and finally this! Thank you!!!
Io ho 67 anni ,mia mamma faceva gli scalfi belli come lei insegna e non con i gradini e a mia .ammazza aveva insegnato mia nonna
I usually choose to do short rows over the shoulders to avoid the steps, but this is a great way to follow the pattern and still avoid steps. THANKS !
Agreed with the short rows but this is a great option
❤
I hated these steps, but didn't know how to get rid of them Thanks a zillion 🙏🙏🙏

I love all your "make it neat" advise!
amazing how many advanced/complicated/expensive patterns pay no attention to neatness.
Fantastic solution to prevent steps - thank you 👍👍👍👍

Hi Norman, whenever I do this my slipped stitches get loose. How to fix this?
hm....proobably because you stretch them out too much. Just let them sort of drop over on the other needle instead of inserting the right needle all the way in.
Simply great, very useful trick. After approx.60 years of knitting 😅
