  • You can put anything in a Gimbap, but I think my combination is the best. My family and friends go crazy with my Kimbap.
    Making Gimbap is not hard but it’s very time consuming. However, once you have all the ingrdients ready, you can keep the ingredients in the refrigerator and take them out when you want to make some.
    You can roll them as many as you need and eat all day. Don’t season all the rice. Season 3-4 cups, which makes about 3 rolls, or the amount of rice you need at the time of rolling.
    Don’t keep rolled Gimbap in the refrigerator. Rice gets cold and harden.
    I season my rice with cooking vinegar like sushi and it makes my Kimbap special and so much better than others.
    Ingredients for 4-6 servings (about 8-10 rolls)
    -10-20 sheets Korean seaweed
    - 4-5 Carrots
    : peel and slice
    : 1 Tbsp cooking oil at medium high heat
    : 1 tsp kosher salt
    : 1 tsp black pepper
    : 1 tsp sesame oil
    - 4 Burdock roots (about 1.5lb)
    : peel and slice
    : 1 big bowl of water with 1 Tbsp vinegar
    : 2-3 Tbsp cooking oil at medium high heat
    : 4 1/2 Tbsp soy sauce
    : 4 1/2 tsp sugar
    - 1 English cucumber
    : 1 tsp kosher salt
    - 1 pack imitation crab meat
    - 1 can Spam
    - 3-4 cans of Korean canned tuna
    : drain the oil
    : 3 Tbsp Japanese kewpie mayo
    : 3 tsp sugar
    * 1 canned tuna needs 1 Tbsp of Japanese kewpie mayo + 1 tsp sugar so if you are using 4 cans, you need 4 Tbsp of kewpie mayo and 4 tsp of sugar.
    * 1 canned tuna makes about 3 rolls of Gimbob
    - 9-10 eggs
    : 1/2 tap kosher salt
    - 1 pack of korean pre sliced picked radish
    - 1 pack of saseme leaves
    - Cooked white rice
    : 4 cups of cooked white rice
    w/ 3 1/2 - 4Tbsp Korean cooking vinegar
    * if you don’t have it, use 3 Tbsp white vinegar + 3 tsp sugar
    * 4 cups of cooked white rice makes about 3 rolls
    - 1/4 cup sesame oil
    : about 1/4-1/2 tsp sesame oil per roll to bruch on top of gimbop
