It was time for more Iron Maiden!! And I’m happy to say we’ve got another Maiden video recorded and lined up!! Loving it! Cheers friends! 😁🤟🏻🔥
The trooper is badass. Love that song. A solid 10. Up the IRONS
🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
No sign of White Man by Queen yet :(
Highly recommend you check out Flash of the Blade. The opening guitar riff is absolutely incendiary.
I think you guys should really consider reacting to the band "ELP". The song "Aquatarkus" of the live album "welcome back my friends". Guaranteed best keyboards/synthesizer you will ever hear live. And by far the best Drum song you are ever going to hear live. Carl palmer is the best and most unique drummer in all of rock. Don't let the Neal Peart fans fool you, Carl is the man! Listen and hear for yourself. Also They were the first band with a quad sound system, what you hear is how it sounded in a stadium. I've seen people pass out from the sounds and notes this band makes live. It's blow your mind music. By far the most talented band I have seen I'm my 45 years of concerts. ☮️
Andy & Alex you should listen to “Aces High” by Iron Maiden it’s in my opinion better than “The Trooper”
Hallowed Be Thy Name! Since Alex hasn't heard that one either I hope it's on the top of the Maiden list
Seconded. If you listen to one Maiden song, make it Hallowed Be Thy Name
Live version - seeing is believing.
The live version from 1982
Thirded! Totally agree ;)
Definitely a must see.
Definitely work in Hallowed Be Thy Name. Awesome song!!
Rime of the Ancient Mariner is 13 mins but it’s worth it by Iron Maiden
That is one of the worst songs they wrote, so lackluster, so stretched out.
@@MrShadowofthewind I think its safe to say that disliking Rime is an anathema to like 90 percent of the fan base my dude
@@iancraig5415 That is disliking anything of maiden.
Yes.. and from Live After Death
@@MrShadowofthewind Well ur not a fan then troll
Steve Harris....hands down, a genius on the bass.
By the way, the lyrics aren't one sided. They deal with both points of view.
@Habit Rabbit they should?
@@zeincexxx1285 its obvious they are painting a picture of the colonists as villains. For example, when they sing in the Indigenous perspective it's a battle for preservation and survival when they sing the colonists perspective its much more sinister, it's hateful, filled with a sense of superiority to justify murder (stating "murder for freedom a stab in the back, women and children are cowards attack", "Raping the women and wasting the men. The only good indians are tame. Selling them whiskey and taking their gold, enslaving the young and destroying the old" shows us the narrative that colonists used to justify genocide. While contradicting themselves in their "cry" for freedom. So it shows both sides but one side is clearly wrong.
Hallowed Be Thy Name should def be your next Iron Maiden! When you are ready for an EPIC journey then check out The Rime of the Ancient Mariner! It will take you on an all out journey through emotions a little bit of everything in it!
Part of the lyrics depict the situation from the natives side, and other parts from the settlers/pioneers side. Very cool tune. One of my favorites.
I always loved Iron Maiden because they were a band where the bassist was the star.. They have that in common with Rush. ❤
"Put them in the Iron Maiden"
"Excellent ! "
"Execute them."
"Bogus..."
Always reminds me of Bill and Ted, lol
Great vid, nice to see you enjoying some classic British Metal, rock on guys.
Iron Maiden - Hallowed be thy name (Hammersmith 1982 live)
This is the song that I realized Steve Harris is up there with "thunderfingers" on bass. ☮️
He's in my top five of all time for rock players, along with Lee, Entwistle, Squire and Butler.
@@m.gideonhoyle409 Yes, Steve is up there with Geddy & Geezer.
Only one “thunderfingers” and that’s Entwistle!!!
‘Arry is badass though!! You would think he plays with a heavy hand but he just tickles those Rotos.
Hallowed be thy name is awesome, so is where eagles dare, Up the Irons!
Ah the sounds of my youth! So much good music was coming out in the early 80's it was hard to keep up with it.
Bruce Dickenson... also known as the human air raid siren. Love that guy. this was my favorite band in high school. I used to draw their mascot Eddie on everything.
Maiden did a good job of covering the perspectives of both cultures. There is no way a song nowadays can have a line that says “the only good injuns are tame” lol
That is tongue-in-cheek. The next lyric is "Selling them whiskey and taking their gold, enslaving the young and destroying the old". That's the truthful perspective.
sharknut I think the point was that no song nowadays would have stanzas dedicated to the POVs of both the Native Americans getting wiped out AND the Europeans eradicating them.
@@thomasknash We weren't wiped out dude, we are survivors. There is still Natives all over America and Canada..
I think we clearly know who's side Iron Maiden are on in this song, the Native Americans, not the immigrants
Its irony about the awful wording
Listening again Oct. 2020 and I am still amazed at the drumming! WOW!!
The Galloping Drums are so great in this
"Hallowed be Thy Name" story of a man heading off to his death from his perspective. One of my top 5 Iron Maiden songs!
Classic Maiden. I still remember me and my classmate swinging in the playground and singing this aloud summer '82. 😁
My favourite Maiden track. The live version rocks as well.
Buckethead - soothsayer ( live @ the gothic 2012)
Great reaction guys from one of the biggest British rock bands with their classic Run To The Hills.
About the American west love it.
Stay lucky stay safe Mike UK.
This is such an awesome song, have not listened to it for years. Thanks for the trip down memory lane. 👏
Iron maiden is a completely separate genre from all other metal bands. They get their lyrics and ideas from historical events. Very powerful!
Also, Bruce Dickinson, the lead singer, grew up in a Catholic church as a choir boy singing. His Voice is very strong and well trained. Another rarity with being a metal band.
I've still got this single from my youth. Great lyrics. ✌️🇬🇧
Omg, I love this!!! You both banging your heads to the song!!🤘🏼🤘🏼sitting there in awe!! Up The Irons 🤘🏼
I’m really enjoying watching you guys experience some of the amazing music I grew up with! Great job ! 🤘
Hollowed by thy name and Alexander the great top tune by the irons
Don't forget Maiden started out with Paul Di'Anno as the original singer on " Iron Maiden " & " Killers " their first 2 albums. Very good stuff that shouldn't be overlooked. Up the irons ! \m/
Yes Hallowed Be Thy Name next for Maiden and again check out some old Kiss when they still kicked ass. Black Diamond 1975 promo.
Definitely do Hallowed be thy name. Maiden!! Up the Irons!!
The look on his face at Bruce's final scream was priceless!
I've learned almost every song Maiden does, being a bass player last 38 years Steve Harris is my favorite bass player.
I've watched a few of your reaction videos and this is my first time commenting.
You guys ROCK! You both were born out of time. I wish I could take you back with me to those days so that I could turn you on to some amazing rock. Just listening to a good rock radio station was great.
Not so much now.
I'm 53 and lived through the period you dudes are exploring. I heard it all and I lived it. I can see you're starved for good rock since today's rock is, for the most part, lacking the creative exploration that bands did back in the 60s, 70s, 80s and early 90s. Those four decades were rock's golden years. So much went on back then that I doubt anyone from your generation will ever be able to fully comprehend. But keep it up! The more you explore, the more awesome tunes you will find. It's all out there. Just keep digging. It's an endless reservoir of good rock in those four decades.
Keep up the good work.
I love how you don't interrupt the songs and just let yourselves rock out and look goofy. Nothing wrong with that.
Rock on, dudes!
Hey welcome to the channel man! Glad you’re digging the vids! We’re definitely loving all the music! Hope you’re doing well! 😁🔥🤟🏻
There's a lot of running (to the hills) for you to do, to keep up with so many great Iron Maiden songs.
2 minutes to midnight
Ghost of the navigator
The evil that man do
Fear of the dark
Number of the beast
Rime of the ancient mariner
Can I play with madness
Wratchild
Etc
Welcome to the eighties the best music ever 👏👏👏👏👏👏❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Hallowed be Thy Name is the best Maiden song...and one of my favorite songs ever!
Hallowed be Thy Name is one of the top metal masterpieces of all time and you definitely need to hear it. The only reason I haven't stressed it in my recommendations to you guys is because it's one of the songs everyone reacts to and I'm hoping you'll mix it up and give some love to some of their less huge, well-known songs. But it is required listening and will melt your face, so if you do that one next I will have zero complaints. If you haven't done it already (since you did say there's another one coming), I would suggest you do the studio version. A lot of people do the live version, and it's great and all, but I personally think the power and control of Bruce's voice on the album make it the better choice for your first time hearing the song.
Two Maiden reactions so far, and still waiting for *Hallowed be thy name,* hehe.
Do the 1982 live version, Beast Over Hammersmith Performance, it's on UA-cam.
I initially found you way back with the Queen reactions, love your work...chur. *\m/*
_This rabbit hole goes very deep :) So many albums, so many great songs._
Rather seem them listen to Phantom of the opera.
Maiden Mondays sirs..great reactions BTW. Powerslave, aces high, wasted years, keep em coming all good songs..
OMG, so many songs to discover:
Hallowed be thy Name
Rime of the Ancient Mariner (Based on a poem of the same name by Samuel Taylor Coleridge)
Aces High (Check out the "Live After Death" version where you hear Churchill's "We shall fight on the beaches" speech)
Powerslave
Infinite Dreams ... I can go on for ever 😁😁😁 Up the Irons 🤟🏻🤟🏻
Run to the Hills is great but Rime of the Ancient Mariner is best!
There was just something about Clive Burrs playing. It was so heavy ,vpowerful, and the same timr crisp.
Rip Clive.
Sanctuary, Charlotte the Harlot, Purgatory, Hallowed Be Thy Name, Die With Your Boots On, Aces High, Back in the Village, along with the other suggestions and you'll start scratching the surface of Iron Maiden.
i like you guys. your enthusiasm, your love for Rock, especially Queen, is just heartwarming.
Bruce Dickinson ,the lead singer of Iron Maiden, and Rob Halford, the lead singer of Judas Priest were both inspired by Ian Gillan, the lead singer of Deep Purple.
Only went to one of their concerts, funny it is also a name of a Boston song you like, "Piece of Mind" tour. Went to a dance bar or pub in England and this song was played about every fourth song.
I was distracted by the bass and Andy's reaction 😂
I'll actually pay attention next time
Classic. I don't think this was his best vocal performance, but it's a fantastic song. Hallowed Be Thy Name should certainly be on your list.
I loved your reaction to that song. 'Where Eagles Dare' or 'Rime of the Ancient Mariner' or 'Hallowed by thy Name'. All of those tunes are epic Iron Maiden masterpieces! :)
Super ! ..strong. Music !!and beautiful hairs !!
Discovered these guys my sophomore year of High School in 1981. Have been a fan ever since. "Hallowed Be Thy Name, the live (1980s) version is mind blowing".
I love the drums on this song!
This was a lot of people's first exposure to Iron Maiden, as MTV would play the video in regular rotation back in the early days. Pay attention to the guitars, and you'll find that they use Strats, Les Pauls and SGs. Not the extreme metal axes used by those they inspired. Maybe that was the distinguishing tone?
This song was one of the first music videos to play on MTV when they first started up.....you know, back in the Stone Age when MTV actually played music.
Please react to "paschendale" by "iron maiden"
this song makes a great companion to Queen's "White Man" from 1976 which touches on the same subject ,
Having listened to this song for years, the video definitely diminishes the rough hardness of the song.
Ahh, remember waiting for this on TOTP!
A lot of Maiden songs come from history. I would suggest "Can I Play With Madness", "The Number Of The Beast" & "Wasted Years". The video for "Wasted Years" is one of my favs....it has pics of the band thru the years & lots & lots pics of Eddie, their mascot.
Yes to Can I play with Madness.
Bruce Dickinson lead vocals, hes also an airline pilot ! ,writes childrens books,is a world champion fencer ( sword fighting) ,and trained to be an opera singer etc etc what a dude
Always loved this song!!!
Fountain of Lamneth or really anything from Caress of Steel. Extremely underrated album from Rush. Love Maiden too. I consider them proto prog metal. Rock on guys!
Good stuff guys Maiden Mondays would be Great they definitely have enough material to keep you guys entertained!🤟🤟👍
Yeah man!!! Monday maiden!!! I recomend that, everytime you do a maiden song, dona live version... its much more emotional and bigger and real maiden. Sorry for my english, greatings from argentina!!!
These guys were insane and still are, I saw them live in Berlin 3 or 4 years ago. I remember being trapped in a moshpit, good times.
Thx handsome Alex for showing andy this song ☺❤
I recommend "Wasted Years" from Maiden's album "Somewhere In Time". The guitar is genius in simplicity. One string and about 6 or 7 frets.
I like the song mostly for the simple but very catchy chorus line.
Nice reaction lads. Maiden rocking it as usual. If Alex wants a 10 for a maiden track go for Rime of the ancient mariner. Pure Metal heaven 🤘🏻
Ahh. Iron maiden in the prime of the 80s. Brilliant from every single angle. Perfection.
Yeah! Great react! Best Heavy Metal Album. Best IM Line up. Always fantastic to see the awesome Clive Burr (rip) on drums. Best drummer ever!
Up the Irons! 🤘
My favorite song by Maiden. Watched them with UFO at the Long Beach Arena in Ca! Maybe you should look into playing some UFO, you will not be disappointed! 🤘
2 minutes to midnight is sooo good!!! You guys should do that one!
Rime of the Ancient Mariner, Phantom of the Opera, Hallowed be thy Name, Blood Brothers, The Clansman - the list goes on and on. Remember live are best. Thanks for this one though. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Iron Maiden are fucking outstanding eh?! Just OUT-FUCKING-STANDING!! 🤟🏼🔥🔥🔥
Great! One of my best friends has Eddie tattooed on his arm!
I was never a metahead, but this to me is a fun tune. Great for highway driving 😉
You've gotta hear the Live After Death version. That was the classic Maiden lineup at it's absolute finest! You should also dig up Flight Of Iccarus, Die With Your Boots On & Hallowed Be Thy Name.
This song my favorite at Iron Maiden band.
Love your reaction!👍🏼👍🏼
Love it! Dudes! You have to hear Aces High from Maiden. You'll love it I promise. It's a big one for Maiden fans.
One of the greatest rock bands that ever played. All great musicians, especially Steve Harris (Bass player). One of the greatest bass players (and song writers) of all time!
You guys have done a song from Number of the Beast and Piece of Mind, next album in line is Powerslave and the opener Aces High is a wild ride and ass kicker of a song. Y'all can hit all the deep, 10 minute tracks like HBTN and ROTAM later.
now watch the live version of this from Rock In Rio 2001....incredible performance
This album defined Maiden, that's not to take away from the first two, Killers being a favorite of mine, Bruce really nailed it on this one...
Maiden definitely one of my favorite bands of all time my favorite song is die with your boots that I have coded underneath my senior picture class of 1985 it reads the truth of all predictions is always in your hands that is it iron maiden lyric
This Dave Murray solo got me playing guitar back in '84. He, along with Adrian Smith were a deadly duo on guitar with Smith ripping off his own classics. Check out the solo to Wasted Years.
Would love to see you react to my favorite, Aces High! Cheers boys!
"Wasted Years" is a good one, too!
Blood Brother and Nomad please, awesome guitar in both, I saw Maiden on their first tour with Nicko on drums, so Piece of mind tour, awesome album.
Killer deepish cut: Where Eagles Dare. :)
There's sooo many Ass Kicking/Heart Squeezing/Hair Raising Iron Maiden songs..., it goes on and on, and on and on..., hopefully after "Hallowed", "Powerslave", "Aces High(original video)" , Rhyme Of The Ancient Mariner, all must listen to, Maiden Classics, you can check out something from Rock in Rio 2001, like The Clansman...., Maiden firing on all cylinders alongside 260,000 of their closest friends.., Hard to find a more Engaging Live Band......, Cheers and Excellent Review
My first concert was iron maiden ,powerslave tour 1983 I think?been a fan since!hey guys check out still life from Piece of mind album!
Hmmm.....Beavis and Butthead have taken human form!🤟😎👏
@The Goat Child
Damn straight 🔥🤟🏻
Uhhhh, uhhhhh, he said butt, huhhh
😂
That is exactly what I was thinking hahaha
It's like, if Beavis and Butt-Head were actually intelligent and capable of expressing themselves with actual thought and reason. This is what it would be like.
Love the reaction video. Face expressions, priceless. Jaw dropping
@ramsvolta1146
Hey thanks friend! This was a fun one to record for sure! 😁🔥🤟🏻
How about the classic that got them in so much trouble...The Number of the Beast.
I certainly wouldn't consider myself an Iron Maiden fan but Bruce Dickinson's vocal on The Number of the Beast is fantastic.
Bruce is my boss at work - he own’s the aircraft maintenance facility I work for - see him quite regularly and he is a nice fellah !
There are soooooo many songs you should try but Hallowed would be a good start. Last time I saw maiden my sister in law came along and the only song she sang along to was Hallowed be thy Name because it's her favourite!
paschendale is a must, great story great song, very moving lyrics.
