Great song dudes but I've heard it a million times. I'm patiently waiting on some more vintage Queen. Especially Queen I Queen II sheer heart attack a night at the Opera A Day at the races and News of the World.
I will never get tired of Killer Queen. It’s on repeat on my headphones😬
This is a great classic I’ve heard since I was kid growing up in the 70s and 80s.
Guys, do yourselves a favor and listen to this with the vocals only. It’s really amazing.
ua-cam.com/video/DmzfQw3pqLM/v-deo.html
'Its Late' from News Of The World needs to be on your list.
Hi guys the reason I love this channel is of course the music but mainly you like all the comments and you answer some of the comments which not all reaction channels do.
Thanks guys, Alex caught your music videos and WOW great voice you've got.
Stay lucky stay safe Mike UK.
Brian said of this song that "every slice of it is perfect," and Roger said it was "very sophisticated and very Freddie."
And it was so well recorded, make a google search for 'Killer Queen Multitrack' and check the sound waves... they are so clean. It's a perfect song on every aspect.
ua-cam.com/video/u4TFszT70Yw/v-deo.html
This was the first song I ever noticed by Queen, as a young teen, and I was utterly fascinated by it. Those descriptions are spot on. There's just nothing anywhere in this song to criticize! Flawless on every level, IMO.
bbbfst yes and definitely very Freddie!!! I love this song and I was probably only about five or six when it came out.
I wish everyone would appreciate Joohn Deacon's thrumming bass playing. He gave depth to the whole band.
John's bass and Roger's percussion are the solid foundation for the band, then add Freddie's vocals and Brian's guitar solos to give the total Queen sound. With any one of them missing, it would not be Queen - they are a team!
Classic Killer QUEEN 👑 👏👏❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
One of Freddie's masterpieces. Killer Queen was s revolutionary song. So strange, mysterious, elegant and flamboyant. Those words can be used to describe Queen as well. Very them and their sound. React to fat bottomed girls next. Both live and studio version please 😍
Yes, fun song! I think there's a version with "Bicycle Race" and 'Fat-Bottomed Girls" back to back, since they were the A and B sides of the same 45 record.
Definitely revolutionary. The only band I think came close to this 'bouncy' flamboyant sound during the 1970s was Roxy Music.
Mia Johansen: I like what you said about Killer Queen, spot on!
@@deckofcards87: I love it for that reason!
I love how there is a cat in the backround the whole time
Came down to the comments just to see if anyone would mention the lump of cat that never moved the whole time ❤️💯
I just discovered this channel and, noticed the kitty immediately. I just couldn’t tell if it was real or a stuffed animal.
why it is pink ?
For those who don't know, Freddie (aka Mr Farenheit) LOVED cats. He seemed to have a favorite (or heart kitty) he called Delilah and I believe he wrote her a song.
That cat must be really tired. If Freddy singing "Killer Queen" didn't get him out of his slumber, then nothing will. He could probably sleep through Guns N Roses' "Welcome to the jungle."
Freddie at his campy, flamboyant best. Great song where the music fits so well with the vocals.
John makes that run down only that time. Listening to John's bass lines will take you down to the rabbit hole.
The way Freddie moved on stage with sheer elegance and extravagance is really beautiful!
Fastidious and precise. You can tell Brian is using a silver sixpence coin as a plectrum. Gives it that metallic sound. Another good reaction. Please get around to It's Late soon.
Adrian Stabbins It’s Late - another six minute masterpiece from Queen. This song should have been a huge hit. It’s sublime, musically, lyrically, technically, emotionally.
I am DYING for It’s Late.
I’m with you. “It’s Late” is one of my favorites
Queen: the band that converted opera to rock. Loved it.
That song got a ton of radio play from pop stations so pretty much everyone old enough knows it.
“I want it all” Great song you guys should check out
Killer Queen has already touched that like button.
This was their first hit that I heard in the 70s!
How beautiful is that guitar tone?
Obviously the whole song is amazing (it's Queen! ) and the bass and vocals are exemplary, but for 35 years now I have just been besotted with Brian's tone. The most beautiful sound in the world, for me.
Red Special, his guitar, is unique. He and his father built it and added features you won't find on any other guitar.
i love this song so much! freddie's voice is so beautiful, their harmonies are flawless… everything about this song is perfect.
Please react to Queen "I WANT IT ALL"
Yesss!
Yes guys, please react to 'I Want It All' one of their best later tracks, and 'These Are The Days Of Our Lives' which is Freddie's goodbye song.
YES OMG
Sunset 86 yes😢
İrem nr. Excellent song!!
Even though I discovered Queen with Queen II, this song is the first I heard by them on the radio.
Pat Murray I’m also a person who discovered Queen through Queen II particularly Seven Seas Of Rhye
This was the first Queen song I heard, in a Sheffield pub late in 1974. Someone said hey, what a singer! I was impressed and followed up this band. I taped all the LPs from their inception to Hot Space (1982). Subsequent LPS and songs I heard second hand...or not at all! However anything Queen from Keep yourself Alive to Under pressure is welcomed with open arms!...ANY TIME!
QUEEN - You Take My Breath Away.......UNBELIEVABLE
Couldn't agree with Alex more, 10 out of 10. Killer Queen is brilliant. No one else could ever sing it like Freddie, from his vocal range to the tongue twisting lyrics. And the instruments are incredible. Another great Wednesday, thanks guys!
This is one of my favorite Queen songs -- but there are just so many!
By air guitar, I play these solos FLAWLESSLY!!
I;m an old guy now. But in June 1974 I was a young student in London, and was watching with my housemates the weekly hit parade show on a small black and white TV and this came on. My first Queen ever. After 46 years I'm still hooked, and I just love to see that young guys (young enough to be my grandkids) are also fascinated by this magnificent band. Thanks for posting!
Queen's first worldwide success! Masterpiece!!
I remember seeing this actual performance live on Top of the Pops on TV in England, I was 10 years old and I can honestly say it changed my life, I knew I had to play guitar, I had to wait another 4 agonizing years before I got one, it seemed like forever!
Same here! 10 years old. My first Queen song. Still loving it after all these years. Cheers!
Exciting generations and lucky ones I say!
I just commented the same! Except I was just 6 :)
Me too. I was delirious with the flu and saw this and Pyjamarama on TOTP. I begged my grandparents for a guitar until I got one...
My personel favorite Queen song. Awesome guitar solo
As a kid of 12 years of age in 1973, when I first heard this song on the radio stations I was blown away. Most unique song I had ever heard at that time. Still today it has not been rivaled and has aged very well. A classic Freddie song! One of my all time favorites from Queen.
Yes Alex ten out of ten, dude you have awesome taste 😊❤️
My fav Queen sing !! ❤️❤️✌🏻RIP Freddie Mercury
"It's Late" is another one that showcases all 4 of them.
Next request that will totally blow you away - "Barcelona!!" Freddie when he knows he's ill, still looks good, singing with opera diva Montserrat Caballe!
Yoooooo I’ve seen the video for Killer Queen like 57292749 times. Iconic beyond belief. I also love Freddie’s coat and black nail polish. Plus the lyrics and song meaning are dope
Great song! Saw an interview with Brian May. His guitar he calls big red. His father and he carved/made the guitar from the fire place mantle from a hundred year old fire place. What a sound!!
It's nice to see another generation enjoy Queens music. There is no other band like them.Ive been a fan since I was 13 ,and am 57 now.
Killer Queen is such a classy song! Liked your discussion!
@Alex and Andy
It was this fantastic song, forty five years ago, that brought me to Queen and their unmistakable sound ! I remember singing it with a bunch of great English and Scots friends in a pub in Hamburg, Germany, one night. When we finished, the other (German) guests applauded us ! I have been a great fan of Queen ever since and regularly listen to their LP's (vinyl), I have all of them, of course! All the best for you guys - keep enjoying Queen. 🙌😘😍😅
Enjoyable commentary and review from intelligent young men whom are passionate and appreciative of rock greatness. Good stuff.....
Try
"My Melancholy Blues"
my second favoriteee besides good old fashioned lover boy then after those two is sweet lady, headlong, one vision and actually basically all of the others are tied.
Yup
You guys HAVE to do-
Freddie Mercury featuring Montserrat Caballe- Barcelona
Bet you won’t be expecting what you hear lol
Love this song love your reactions to this Great song i adore Freddie Mercury and Queen been a fan since 1975
When Queen began to bust out. This song was the first top 40 song in the USA for the band. Stone Cold Crazy, same album if you want pure Brian May rock.
This song always has me swinging my head back and forth, buds.
Fried Chicken
Any real Queen fans will know...
TheDinoNugget one vision 😂
One vision
@hanna jilan one dump, one turd, two tits, John deacon
Yep
My first Queen album I bought Sheer Heart Attack. Nobody else heard of them. I knew they were the greatest just listening to this album. Every song on this album is awesome.
This is the track that really made people notice them in England.
that was the power of Top of the Pops back then
In the US, as well. This is the song that turned me on to Queen. I was in jr. high when it was released and remember that it was well played on the radio. And that was before Bohemian Rhapsody hit the following year and they really exploded!
One thing they got wrong in the movie, they made it look like this was the first time they had been on Top of the Pops. They had already been on with Seven Seas of Rhye.
Brian himself said he was afraid they were selling themselves as something too light with this song. But then he realized every single second of Killer Queen was a masterpiece and so very Freddie.
By the way, Rami did a magnificent job recreating Freddie's moves in this scene of the movie.
Thank you so much, guys!!
Glad you reacted with the video! Still suggesting It’s Late as another song for the queue! Straight up rock and roll 😁
Classic Queen doesn’t get anymore classic than this thanks guys
One of the earliest songs I remember from my childhood. I think my Mum must have been playing it on a loop when I was in the womb 😂
Sheer Heart Attack is my favourite album
9.8 for me. It’s in my Top 20 of Queen songs.
The first Queen song I ever listened to 3 years ago and I'm still learning the lyrics! Killer Queen is absolutely fantastic and is just so energetic!
Thanks guys. Brings back so many memories (yes, I am old).
I understand this song is about a classy call girl... after listening to the lyrics, it makes sense!!
“This is the BBC” 😂... love this and your analysis at the end was really interesting thank you both! If you like this era of Queen highly recommend Stone Cold Crazy and In The Lap of the Gods (both revisited and original! But Roger’s backing vocals on the original are phenomenal 😊👌🏻)
p.s. the live version of in the lap of the gods at the Rainbow in ‘74 is awesome 😎
Absolutely! Rogers vocals on In the Lap of the Gods live at the Rainbow are unbelievable!!!
Rainbow vocals by Roger will blow your mind!!! Must hear!!
There's never been a song like this ever made before or after. Only one band that can make such a sophisticated, melodious, harmonious classic.
You have to watch "Tie your mother down" from the Live at Wembley video from 1986. That whole concert is just stellar!
Thanks for reacting to Killer Queen! This song holds a special place in my heart because it was the first Queen song I ever heard in early 1975. I missed the beginning of the song on the radio so I didn't know who it was. I was glued to the radio until I heard it again. I thought it was the most beautiful and different song I had ever heard. There was nothing else remotely like it and has never been since. I was soon waiting for any other Queen song and by the end of the year Bohemian Rhapsody came out and blew everyone away. Killer Queen topped out at #2 on the UK chart and #12 on the Billboard chart. Can you react to Lap of the Gods Live at the Rainbow 1974? Thanks!
That was the song that launched the group. The critics said it was the first one where Queen found their style with the incredible catchy lyrics of Freddie. It was off their 3rd album.
If you still want to react to older Queen- I would like to suggest “In The Lap of The Gods”. Beautiful song.
Listen to who wants to live forever total master piece regards from uk
TEAR IT UP please saludos desde ARGENTINA my friends
Do you take my breath away if you haven't it's a beautiful song
Very clear beautiful voice and perfect harmonies from Roger and brian
This song makes me happy, your reaction made me happy, thanks!
so that you know: this is my all time favorite Queen song. Has ever been. So happy that you finally listened to it.
Sabine Thinkerbellum I think it's mine, too. It's so hard to pick just one, but yeah. This one.
‘Doing All Right’ from the first album.
One of Freddie Mercury's masterpieces of wordplay...pure poetry. This was the hit that got them really known by the audience-at-large, on both sides of the Atlantic. I've always called his vocal on this one, "Emily Post-like".
Hey guys like the new intro,
This is why they are so unique,
They could play anything,
as no other band could, and the thing that stands out is Freddie’s diction the clarity of his words , and a big shout out for John deacon an often ignored member his base line in their music is second to none thanks for making my Thursday morning before I head off to work👍❤️
Young Freddie at his best; Iconic Queen is best!! You guys are very good. I enjoy watching you watch Queen.
Love the new channel layout!! Keep the queen vids coming!!
@Jake Pepper
Thank you! And of course!! 🔥👑
Got to do "A Kind of Magic". There's a short guitar riff in it that I wait for, and when it comes , it hits me right between the eyes.
This song is IT. PERFECT SONG.
I heard that song on the radio in 1974 and ran out and bought the 45 record cuz at 14 I didn't have money to buy albums...…..awesome!
Queen's not just a great listen, they're a total experience. I loved these guys even when I was a snot nosed kid; before I was even into music. :)
I've always loved the way this song highlighted Freddie's impeccable vocal control. The way he easily goes up & down octaves with precision yet makes it seem so natural stands out even today.
I'm with u, Andy. Killer Queen is too mellow for me to play in the car.
Wednesdays with Andy and Alex plus Queen....couldn't get better....unless there was more Queen!!! Good reaction to such a great song.
I noticed your bro was having you catch the panning effects... something Queen loved to use.
Check out Freddie in Barcelona - live at Ibizi. Opera duet with Freddie riffs. Perfection. He is a genius.
I remember watching this Top Of The Pops performance when I was 6! First time ever seeing or hearing them. Loved them ever since.
I remember when this song came out in 1974. This song is so much fun.
This is quintessential Queen. Another one of their songs that just stops you in your tracks...
Lots of great tracks recommend by others on comments, I agree that you will love most of them especially “its late”.
Along the same lines as Killer Queen I would recommend “Good old fashioned lover boy” enjoy 👍🏻
Excellent review, guys! It is such a perfectly crafted song. Roger says in interviews they knew it was something special because it took them AGES to get the sound just right on the vocals, and Brian (who was in the hospital when they did the backing vocals) heard them the first time and made them redo them AGAIN, because it was a such fine line between being too cheeky or too serious. Also, Brian has said this is the solo he would like to be remembered for. On an unrelated note: because I follow you guys, You Tube recommended a certain video called “Rise Up” by some band called Kings & Culprits for me to watch 😉. ALEX! Daaaaaaaaayum, boy! You aren’t “in a band” you are IN A FRICKIN’ BAND! Your voice is outstanding! Loved the song!
@Heather Qualy
Thank you!! Glad you enjoyed the vid!! And yes I love Rise up!!! I’ll make sure Alex sees this comment!! 😁😁
1.49 ha ha classic, I just knew you look at each other with bass run!
Killer Queen-one of the classics.Hopefully get you chaps onto ‘Play the Game’ one day.Another top track.
Hey guys, im from Brasil and fan Queen/Freddie fan, following this Chanel now, more Queen PLEASE, THANK U 🎹🎤🎼🎵❤🇧🇷
that's a lovely kitty, snoozing in the background.... glad you enjoyed it!
QUEEN: I Want It All - 1989 Queen anthem! Also, the last video Queen ever did with Freddie 'These Are The Days of our Lives' its mellow and sad, but poignant. Great reactions as always ;)
That is such an awesome song. Brian is so clean with his playing that it's ridiculous. So freakin tasty.
The first Queen song I ever bought. Beautiful voice and range.
My favorite song when I was 8 back in 1973! My older sister had a pet snake named Killer Queen, until our mother let it loose. 🤣🤣🤣 It was a snake she found in the garden.
Good morning guys! You've finally got to the very first Queen song I ever heard. I was 10 years old, I had a little tinny transister radio (precursor to the walkman??). I instantly loved Killer Queen. The kids would all jump around the playground singing it. Loved singing along to the fun lyrics. Had no idea it was about a high class call girl! In the context of the times it did fit in with other songs in the top 40 - like Paper Lace, Pilot, Sweet and other bands that have not stood the test of time. It still stood out though. All the elements you talked about Alex made it just pop. We used to get some BBC content on the TV in Australia so I saw the video as well. Loved Freddie in the fur jacket and satin pants, loved Brian's hair and guitar. We were all Freddie, Brian, Roger or John. I can't really be objective about this song. Too many memories!
this song gave queen thier identity when they first became popular, then bohemian rhapsody brought them world wide fame
I love how you 2 are rocking to Queen and the cats fast asleep in the background, not caring a jot who's singing.
Really happy to see the rebranding with Alex's name etc. Looks super sharp and fits the channel. Great react. Killer Queen is vintage 10/10 queen. Not to be inolequent but if aliens landed and needed to hear queen, basically this is sample record stuff. Like Alex said, the best from everyone is represented here. Excellent input from both of you and congrats in the new look.
@clang theo
Thank you very much! I’m really excited for having Alex on the channel name and everything as well! And yes Killer Queen was super iconic it feels like! Cheers friend! 😁
Red Special (Brian May's guitar) is like it's own separate voice.
One of my fav Queen songs !! Always has been.
Awesome video! I can tell you and Alex have an awesome friendship ☺️💙
It was their first top of the pops performance on the BBC and everyone on it had to mime, it was in the movie.
That video is the exact same "lips sync" that they did at the BBC show, as showned in the movie
Luis, there was no official video for Killer Queen, this was their appearance on Top of the pops (which has since been adopted as the official video) as dramatised in the movie, and you will see the tape on cymbals so they don’t make too much noise one of many things the band hated including obviously lip syncing
@@markpalmer7215 The BBC made all Acts Mime on Top of the Pops. Queen felt like they were Cheating their Fans if they were made to Lip Sync.
Funniest thing about this video is that Roger is HATING every second of the fake performance. It’s only noticeable if you’ve seen footage of them actually performing or if you are actively looking for it, but the way he’s sitting and how half-heartedly he’s tapping his drums is so uncharacteristic. Once you realize he’s having an epic sulk, you can’t unsee it, and the video becomes so much more entertaining than it was intended to be. Also amusing- when recording video commentary around a decade ago, Roger’s closing comment-and the only thing he says that isn’t deriding the whole experience-is, “My God, we were thin.”, and most of the video commentary is Brian and Roger discussing how much they hated miming and lip syncing in general and Top of the Pops specifically. Roger’s rant on this is roughly identical in almost every piece of footage where they discuss this era, and so OF COURSE they had to put a scene explaining this into the movie.
Watch closely and you can see that there are no cables attached to the guitars !
ua-cam.com/video/vekMqvq8L_w/v-deo.html
On this Video Freddie does not even try to Sing with the Playback Half the Time.
