I don't know if you two partake or not. But if you do you should definitely fire one up then react to the song "aquatarkus" by the band "ELP" off the live album "welcome back my friends". It's prog rock/ head music. It's definitely different than what you will expect but I guarantee it will literally blow your minds if wearing headphones. It's made to do just that. It's 3 musicians live. Like no others. First band to use a quad sound system. Might be the best drum song you ever hear also. ☮️

    Long epics (their legendary trademark):
    - Phantom Of The Opera
    - Hallowed Be Thy Name
    - Rime Of The Ancient Mariner
    - Dance Of Death
    - Alexander The Great
    - Caught Somewhere In Time
    - Powerslave
    - Fear Of The Dark
    - Sign Of The Cross
    - The Clansman
    - The Nomad
    - Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son
    - When The Wild Wind Blows
    - Paschendale
    - Blood Brothers (ballad)
    Shorter and relatively straightforward tracks:
    - Flight Of Icarus
    - Aces High
    - The Evil That Men Do
    - The Clairvoyant
    - Only The Good Die Young
    - Wasted Years
    - 2 Minutes To Midnight
    - The Number Of The Beast
    - Where Eagles Dare
    - Run To The Hills
    - Holy Smoke
    - The Wicker Man
    - Different World
Every time, you pick any song from the two lists in alternating order and you'll be fine for reacting.
P.S.: I'd say you should try the album (studio) version for all of them at first to hear every instrument, every note fully in full-impact, contraversially including the ones which have a different (not as good according to almost all fans) vocalist on the studio version. However, you should react to some of them live too as a 2nd time reaction.

Sooooo happy you guys finally doing one of my al time favorite bands. I've been a Maiden fan since I was 7 or 8. This song is based on the a poem of Alfred Lord Tennyson “Charge of the Light Brigade,” which in turn is based on a disastrous British attempt to charge Russian enemy troops during the Crimean War (1853-1856). If you need a history lesson or some poem based songs you can listen to many Maiden songs, Samuel Taylor Coleridge wrote his poem "The Rime of the Ancient Mariner" in 1834 which Maiden rendered into a song on the album Powerslave. History ... "ALEXANDER THE GREAT" , "ACES HIGH" where you hear a part of Churchill’s “We shall fight on the beaches…” speech , "RUN TO THE HILLS" , "WHERE EAGLES DARE" Oh wait... that's based on a movie...😁😁 Enjoy the wonderful Maiden journey guys. You'll love it I'm sure.

    Hallowed Be Thy Name
Rime of the Ancient Mariner (Live - Live After Death)
    Wrathchild (Live - Raising Hell)
The Clansman (Live - Rock In Rio)
Ghost Of Navigator (Live - Rock In Rio)
Running Free (Live - Live After Death)
Sanctuary (Live - Live After Death)
Number Of The Beast (Live - Live After Death)
    Run To The Hills
Churchill’s Speech/Aces High (Live - Live After Death)
You’ll note I usually choose the live version and I choose from 3 shows:
    Live After Death - 1984/85
    Raising Hell - 1993
    Rock In Rio - 2001
For some of these songs it is the only way you’ll hear Bruce Dickinson singing them as they were done by a different singer on the studio album. (Wrathchild, Sanctuary, The Clansman, Running Free)

I was so encouraged by the dude on the left, the one who this was his first Iron Maiden song. Sir, what i mean to tell you is this song is metal itself. It is the best Iron Maiden song. Your want to listen to the solo again is right. While I would never discourage listening to other Maiden songs there is worth in just listening to this song over and over for a bit first. Don't go too fast. Savor it. There are so many great Maiden songs. They are not going anywhere. To be honest you are only going to enjoy them more by being fluent in this track.
When you feel you have gotten there some obvious ones are Number of the Beast, Killers. 2 Minutes to Midnight, Wasted Years and Infinite Dreams. That last one has nuance that will blow your mind. It is my favorite Maiden song. Many of the late period songs are great too like Ghost of the Navigator and Empire of the Clouds but let that come later. I am giving you pearls here.
One other thing. So much of Maiden is appreciating their work as albums vs. individual songs. I know that doesn't serve your channel but Iron Maiden comes from a time when the record reigned over the single. Albums present as a program of listening like reading a book. IMO the best of their albums is the debut which had an entirely different singer (Paul Di'Anno) It works as a program of listening you do not get listening a song at a time.
I appreciated the gentleman on the right, too. just he had already heard the song. What friend you are by introducing your bud to the greatest metal band of all time with their best song. The only song likely to compete with this one is Hallowed Be Thy Name, and it is awesome, however I figure at the start you guys are wanting for burners not epic set pieces just yet. Cheers, and, enjoy the journey.

Oh yeah! Seen them in concert five times in Cincinnati as a teenager. Some of the best concerts I’ve ever been to. I hope y’all listen to some more Maiden and let us see how much you like 🤟🏼😍
Edit: Hallowed Be Thy Name is a good one too 😉
Second edit: I absolutely loved watching y’alls facial expressions and your heads banging during the solo 😃👍🏼
I don’t know how old you guys are, but I love seeing young kids enjoying good music....the music I grew up with.

Saw them when they came through Cincinnati last time. Amazing! Hearing the entire venue screaming "WHOA OOOH OOOOH OOOOH OOOOH OOOOH OOOOHH" the energy in the crowd is off the charts.

Great song! We met in high school in 1982, eloped two years later and never looked back. Stumbling across your UA-cam page was fun for us, especially since you guys are listening to many of our favorites. Our first date was Black Sabbath (1982 with Dio), the last time we saw them was our 29th wedding anniversary for their reunion tour with Ozzy. We were, and still are, big fans of Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd, Iron Maiden, Blue Oyster Cult, Rush and many others, including Grunge that was a breath of fresh air to the music industry in the 90s. We would love to share so much of the music we grew up with with you guys and hear your response to it. Already we have enjoyed what you have reacted to. Great channel, we look forward to much more from you and the impact of music that is so powerful, moving and expansive. Our vote for Iron Maiden? The Piece of Mind album, hands down. Favorite track off the album, To Tame a Land.

Your heads never stopped rocking from start finish! That’s the Iron Maiden effect. Honestly, any of the big, old school hits will have the same effect on you. Hallowed Be Thy Name, Run to the Hills, Flight of Icarus, Aces High, Two Minutes to Midnight, Revelations...and when you’ve got those sussed you’ll be ready for Rime of the Ancient Mariner. Along with Judas Priest, these guys ruled the 80’s. You should have been there...it was awesome!!

Iron Maiden is one of my all time best bands, and one of the song I really like is The Duellist.
You are can find a lot of video reactions from all of their most famous songs, but I have never seen the Duellist. The solo between the two guitarists is amazing. Not too many bands can play solos like they do, swapping the lead as they play their solos, or playing together in pure harmony

Iron Maiden has been my favorite band since 1982 (yeah, I'm old :) but they are timeless. You absolutely have to listen to Hallowed Be Thy Name next. You will never be disappointed by Maiden. They are consistent in their musicianship and Bruce has amazing vocal range.

I saw Maiden 4 times, even going to NJ to see them (I live in Canada). Saw them on Powerslave, Seventh Son, Fear of the Dark tours and finally in NJ in 2012. Seventh Son was an album I really enjoyed and liked the whole LP. So check out some or all of that in addition to all the songs others are throwing out there. Maiden and Priest were the two biggest metal bands for me when I was a teenager in the early 80s!

First saw Maiden in '85 on Powerslave tour. Fecking incredible. Saw them two more times over the years, but it's been almost 20 years. I just don't do big concerts anymore. Saw everyone back when they were young and on top of their game. :D
But from what I hear, Maiden still brings it. Always a good show.

Perfect song to start out with. Their solos are double solos. One guitar plays the solo in the key they are in, and when the second guitar plays their solo they move to a different key. Very cool stuff.
The epics are: Rime of the ancient mariner, Hallowed be thy name, and Phantom of the Opera. The greats are: Aces High, Two minuets to midnight, Wasted Years.

Andy, the faces you made cracked me up. It was definitely guitar face like you were actually playing and really getting into it. Loved it! The first album I listened to by Iron Maiden was Number of the Beast. When I shared it with one of my cousins, he flipped and became a die hard Maiden fan. I'd recommend 'Run to the Hills.' I also kinda like 'Seventh Son of a Seventh Son.' Oh, hi Alex. Don't want you to feel left out. 😉
