    I love your channel guys! I’m in my 50s and it gets me pumped to see you guys have the same mind-blown reaction that I had when I first listened to. A lot of these songs way back in the 80’s. I saw Iron Maiden live on this tour and the 4 tours following it, their live show was incredible.
    One suggestion for you guys, you made a spot on perfect observation that musically they always nail it. Harris, Murray and Smith were like a walking Metal philharmonic.
    Have a listen to some of the stuff from their first two albums before Number of the Beast. They had a different singer, and a slightly different vibe (I actually prefer those first two albums) it’s a bit more raw, slightly less refined but the same type of reach-through-your-headphones-grab-you-by-the-face-melt-your-brain effect. If you like Hallowed be Thy Name, I suggest Phantom of the Opera. Similar sort of symphonic arrangement, but again, a little more gritty and unrefined. Phantom is my all time favorite Maiden song and I don’t think Paul DiAnno gets the respect he deserves. What they were doing at that time with him was nothing short of revolutionary.

    This is Maiden at their finest. Metal as well. Solid 10. --- Happy you guys were blown away. For, me... This brings up a lot of the bad banger days. Women were not treated so kindly by some men, when listening some Metal. To see joy on your faces helps! Thanks A&A. Great day to you. :)

    2 flight of icarius

      when i think of quintessential iron maiden, the first song i think of is phantom of the opera. i coached high school wrestling for 10 years. i played phantom of the opera for our entrance music one match, and my team absolutely loved it! they kept requesting me to play it.

    If you decide to explore Maiden you better pay some attention to the Di'Anno era which covers the first two albums. Definitely more punky and gritty. Very different albums to say the least, but the songs are amazing! Here, I'd like to point out Phantom of the Opera (live at Rainbow!) as the main card. Trust me. Check it out!
    If you decide to check out the rest of Iron Maiden, I would definitely check out Fear of the Dark (yes, live again!) and Afraid to Shoot Strangers.

      @@hoopsmccann639 i agree there, even when it comes on now, i always immediately think, how is this not more talked about? I think it's because "7SOA7S", was probably the first and probably only album they got fan backlash from. There's pretty reputable people, radio DJ's, musicians etc., that called it the bon jovi album that maiden did. And it's all because of "Can i play with madness". It was pretty clearly a bit of a lackluster shot at radio and MTV play. It sounds a bit like a different band. Even more recent songs like "Blood Brothers", "the Wickerman", "Different World", have catchy and original melodies that make some songs addicting, but closer to the "Wasted Years" feel than a "Can I play with madness" thing. They are different but sound like something they would've released before :7 son.,," ..And are beloved live songs all the way up to now. I went to 4 maiden concerts in my life all since the summer of 2010 and never once heard ANY song off of "7th son"...Im sure they've played it live in the late 80s at least some. But i think they try to avoid it not too long after.

      @@davidtokash4701 good point! when i first started listening to maiden (1990), "bring your daughter to the slaughter" was the first song i heard. as a 9 year old who's favorite band was skid row, i thought it was alright. then i heard "can i play with madness," and i didn't listen to iron maiden again til i was 16 and started riding around with my friends who had older maiden on cd. i was shocked to hear songs like "rime of the ancient mariner," "hallowed be thy name," and "22 acacia avenue." i never knew they were that good and regretted not seeking out more maiden before that point. and it was all because of how bad "can i play with madness" was. i've been to a bunch of maiden shows, also don't recall hearing songs from seventh son, but maybe "the evil that men do."

    • @davidtokash4701
      @davidtokash4701 4 роки тому +1

      @@hoopsmccann639 That one's a possibility. I think if they wanted they could just go into "Infinite Dreams" live at one of their shows, without Bruce giving it an intro and naming it. I have a feeling it would go over quite well. Im conflicted on actually a few songs on "7th son...". Moonchild for example has an incredibly cool intro and instrumentals but also for me has spots where a certain tone or transition doesnt fit for me, and the lyrics arent the caliber of Steve Harris in the zone, or even Dlckinson's less frequent zone in writing. But "Infinite Dreams" though is IMO, up there around "Two Minutes.." and at least half of the "Piece of Mind" album, but not quite "NOTB" level which is still peak maiden.

    I've been listening to 'Maiden since 1985, when my first college roommate Roy from mid state Michigan, the most badass rockin' farm boy ever, brought a monster stereo to our dorm room and "Peace of Mind" album from 1983. We just about wore that disc out on his turntable. And so, the 'Maiden song with the 'Sauce' is, and always will be: "Where Eagles Dare." Rips from literally the intro drum riff to the last four-count to conclude it: dah-dah-dah DAH! You owe it to yourselves....and a tip of my hat to old Roy.

    If you're looking for another banger, take about 11 minutes and check out the first three tracks on Operation: Mindcrime. I love the reaction videos. Like this I forgot how much I loved Iron maiden ! Awesome. Plus I love watching today's youth discover it . Our generation had the best music. Today's music doesn't have the talent that they did in the 80's & 90's computers do most the work. And the 60's & 70' s were like the pioneers . But the 80's & 90's. We're the perfection of that pioneering. And today is the falling away from it.. It don't get much better than maiden !
