- Today, I am going to be discussing Ash Ketchum and his performance as a Pokemon Trainer over the last 20+ years! He might be a goof but does that mean he's not a strong trainer? You'll have to watch and find out!

Mystic: Nothing interesting in Unova
Sunglasses Krookodile: Am I a joke to you?
Yes, you are.
That's an exception
Exactly
Krookodile was a beast why did you have to leave my man out of Unova
It really sucks that the “Black & White” anime dropped the ball, because Unova/Generation V is one of my favorite generations of Pokémon. It was so exciting that there was a new region filled with 150 new Pokémon!
I’m hoping he forgot Krookodile on accident
Can we admit that the real brain was Brock? He was so far beyond he knew that Water types were weak to fire if the fire type was a Charizard.
And than Allain's Mega Charizard lost to Siebold's Mega Blastoise.

Ash is strong enough to lift a log. His pokemon arises the question how strong they are?

Now he can't do that anymore, even with help
He was able to easily lift a 72 kilos larvitar
He is as strong to lift cosmoem
@@lwueda123 and 1000 kg cosmoem
Larvitar was around back when ash did have that strength
Cosmoem could have used its psychic powers to levitate just enough so that ash can carry it without problems; besides lillie carried that exact same pokemon in the games inside a bag which would also make lillie super strong right?
It’s amazing how much progress Ash has made throughout the show’s run. Getting better placements and even some elite level status. It’s no wonder people detested BW, because they took the reset rule to 11 with him. XD

Well Swellow does have the Guts ability so with Pikachu's thunderbolt potentially paralyzing it, you can kinda tell how he won I guess.
Oh yeah that could have been guts

Sceptile was always my favourite Pokémon, and when it won against a Darkrai, Boi I fucking lost it.
Only offer several years I realized it would had never pulled it off without the rest of the team softening Darkrai.
I know
To be fair, Darkrai usually uses Dream Eater, which can recover some of his health at the expense of the sleeping victim. Plus, Sceptile is the only Pokemon who was able to take it like a boss. I say Sceptile definitely earns that reputation.

Here’s an explanation for the Tate and Liza gym in the Hoenn anime I’m pretty sure that it’s swellows ability guts meaning it probably got paralyzed and therefore got a power boost
But wouldn’t Thunder Obliterate Swellow
@👄@
But an incredibly powerful pikachu using stab supereffective thunderbolt, how does Swellow survive that? But hey, I dunno, lives on one hp 'cuz bronzor EVs I guess
Idk maybe it had like focus band/sash who knows

His Pikachu also kept up with Diantha’s Gardevoir for a time before getting interrupted if memory serves. Still wish he would evolve his Gible, but Dragonite has filled that void for me after swatting away Karina’s mega Lucario.
Mystic, you should do a series where we subscribers comment or tweet you our personal Pokemon team (we can put any Pokemon from anything generation) and you rate how functional our team is and how they fair against a region.
Swellow got that boost from being paralized by pikachu, swellows ability is guts so it makes sence but mystic is probably not gonna see this
It would’ve been more clear if Swellow was only affected by that Thunder. Pikachu also got paralyzed (Electric was immune to paralysis since Gen 6), but Pikachu doesn’t have the Guts ability, so…
@@khadirafarah1314 yeah, but doesnt it make sence that pikachu hit by his own electric attack makes makes him stronger? Seems logical to me
@@timodius7945 Yep, it does…
@@timodius7945 Pikachu has static. Not lightning rod.
@@nothinghappened7599 it is his own electricity, he uses it to power up his next attack
This makes so much sense.
For one thing, Satoshi (Ash) and Pikachu has Travel many regions after regions to get through his goal of becoming a Pokémon Master. he went so many just to get past through all the stops just by catching ever Pokémon from Old to New. even the stronger ones that help him get through so many Pokémon League Conference and fought a lot of strong Trainers along the way including Rivals and many Companions traveling with him. even so that he's the Champion now his goal is now participate in the Pokémon World Championships by passing through each Rank to get to the Master Class to battle against the Galar Champion Dande (Leon) . (that includes the Master 8 too.)
How strong mysticumbreon has become
Cosmoem can levitate, so its weight in Ash's hands can canonically be zero, and the fantasy trees in the pokemon universe have no official weight, so if a 10 year old can throw it then a 10 year old can throw it.
Well, with the Swellow and Pikachu move, the move Thunder caused Swellow to become paralized that activated its Guts, which boosts a pokemon's attack if it is affected by a status effect. So that is how that combo worked.
yes bro exactly
Hitting with your own Pokemon with one of the strongest stab electric move must be a great strategy.
@@metehanaydemir2540 1. I don't think that Pikachu had any other electric moves at this point.

He'd only be stronger because he wouldn't have Misty dragging him down in Kanto and Johto tbh.

@@yellow_dandelion re watch the first episode he says which one he wants I think it’s squirtle though
There are multiple what if videos on that topic you should watch. And we already know his starter would have been Squirtle.
Ash Ketchum is alright so far in the Pokemon Anime Series but sometimes he can alway get too excited and impatient when it comes to Pokemon battle he really wants to battle other trainers quickly and he never think things through like his past rivals Gary, Paul, Trip, Alain and Gladion. Ash can sometimes be very rude and stubborn as he refuse to listen to other trainers advices or accept their help like when Misty explain to him about earning Gym Badges and offers to help him by lending him her water Pokemon but Ash refuse.
Ash Ketchum did start out as unskilled Pokemon trainer but later over the years of the Seried he had started to improved like in Pokemon XY Series, Ash has grown and mature a little bit and his appearence is more like a teenager rather a 10 year old, and while it's true that his battle strategy have improved but he's still clueless when it comes to girls who have feelings for him like Serena and Miette. However Ash went back to his childish ways in Pokemon Sun and Moon as he still continued to desprately wanted to have Pokemon battle with some of the strongest trainers or compete in the Island Challenge and Island Grand Trial Challenge with the Kahuna like Hala, Olivia, Nanu and Hapu.

MysticUmbreon, could you please upload a video where you make your own versions of Ash's respected teams from each region?
Don't Disrespect Krookidile
How strong he is honestly depends on the team the fields
He will field a team of Muk, Totodile, Torkoal, Palpitoad, Boldore and scraggy just cause he wants to validate them
So could you do his champion team/e4 team? What types would he use or would he have type coverage for different challengers?
The boy is clearly above Elite four and battle frontier level
Ash wasn't strong enough to command a disobedient Charizard in the Kanto League.
To be fair, that was Ash at his most novice
Swellow went super Saiyan because the swellow had the guts ability, so all that happened is pikachu paralyzed swellow.
Why did Swellow and Pikachu become golden then? Did Pikachu also paralyze itself byt if so since when is the paralysis animation, becoming golden?
Kanto/Johto - basic trainer level
Hoenn/Sinnoh - gym leader level
Unova - reset
Kalos - lower tier elite 4 level
Alola - clearly champion level
Journeys - not white a CHAMPION comparable to Leon, Lance or Cynthia as their far more experienced but close enough
Ash: beats a latios
Also ash: loses to a level 5 snivy
Also loses to a kid who forgot to bring in a 6th Pokemon.
As someone who actually really likes Gen V, I will agree wholeheartedly that Best Wishes was absolutely cursed.
Unova was an important region for Ash to learn that he still had a long way to go. His wins in sinnoh seemed to have made him a bit overconfident and Unova was important for humbling him. That’s why he progressed so much in kalos and later on. Unova is more important than people realized. Also paul was just annoying asshole. Not as annoying as Barry but still annoying.
Iris is not at the champion level that Leon or Cynthia is at. Yeah she’s wearing her champion clothes but she just became the champion of the Unova league. We don’t know if she beat alder and her Pokémon don’t seem to be on the level of champion. Champion and elite 4 Pokémon are on another level. Despite having a type advantage Paul’s torterra did basically no damage to cythia’s garchomp when it used frenzy plant.
That’s a common thing with champion and elite 4 Pokémon, they seem to take no real damage from Pokémon that aren’t also champion or elite 4 Pokémon.
"Volkner is elite 4 level..." and still gets wreked by a stupid ground type with earthquake :v
He’s a gym leader. It’s not his fault that they are meant as tests rather than actual walls.
Just give his raichu freaking grass knot, so it could add some difficult and to show he knows how he can give you a challenge as the last gym leader, I'm never asking him to be op, just to make sense with what they say about him both in game and anime
Or his electvire ice punch, just make him challeging
A quag defeats volkner
@@lwueda123 In the Anime for one time they were intelligent and gave Electivire Ice Punch and Fire Punch.

Thunder armor is guts that’s why he did itt
Did anyone ever notice that Ash has never had a fairy type Pokemon? Unless Mr. Mime counts.
Journeys is doing alot of firsts, and since Mr. Mime has been under his ownership at least once, then technically Ash has caught a Psychic type and a Fairy type, along side Gengar being his 1st Ghost type. Speaking of Gengar, it's also the Pokemon that has given Ash his first use of Ghost Moves, and from what has been said in the 1 hour Summer Special, Gengar has also learned Ash's first Fairy move, Dazzling Gleam! This series bought us Ash's 1st Fossil catch, and 1st regional variant catch too, and in battle they have their first offensive power up move, Dragon Dance.
And a First pokemon with a fairy move(dazzling gleam) is gengar. (Which is a leak at the time now)
@@adinarayan.p2035 Which I said. But it's not a leak, it was listed as a move Gengar knew in the 1 Hour Summer Special that aired during the hiatus. Dazzling Gleam was learned in place of Psychic.
@@thefirespecialist9007 oh I missed it!
Ash did catch Mr. Mime off screen the writers did confirm it back in Gen 5. With some type of Poster that had all of his catches on it including Mimey
Forgot to mention ash almost beating diantha mega gardevoir but passed out 🥲
I think the reason the Tate and Liaza fight worked is because of the ability Guts. Doubled Swellow's attack.
Guts doesn’t double your attack. It increases it by 50%. If your attack is 100, with guts your attack would be 150. Doubling your attack would increase it from 100 to 200
He is strong now, real deal. From zero, to hero
I always thought that ash didn't use infernape against Tobias cuz he had taken massive damage from his fight with paul. I'm older now and i realize it was plot armor lol.
I wonder how strong he'll be at the age of twenty? How exciting!
You forgot to mention XY Ash basically defeated the ace Pokemon of the Champion, Diantha with his Greninja.
and thus Ash defeated Volkner again
For me , the reason why Galar Gym leaders are probably some of the toughest. Is cause they all be fighting Leon, the World Campion, on a daily basis, which is shone in the Pokemon Twilight anime mini series. Which also explains why Ash had such a hard time against Bea, she's not your run of the mill gym leader.
thanks for the update man its been awhile since anyones done an of these
Wait, in what part of the franchise is it said that Aaron became an elite 4 member because Volkner refused the job?
I love your channel mystic
If ash had a set team he could definitely be a champ lvl a f he already isn’t but he’s should be considered a contender for sure

That pikachu gotta be lv. 100 by now
If it wasn't infernape ash should have lost
People debating over ash should have won kalos league
Heck that charizard battled 10 megas in a row defeated elite 4 and give a competition to some legendaries
If he had brought Charizard in against Tobias, he would've stood more of a chance.
If Ash used a full team of all 6 of his strongest pokemon, you know, Charizard, Greninja, Pikachu, Sceptile, ETC. he would probably be almost impossible to win against... Especially while utilizing Z moves and Ash Greninja. A Hydro Vortex from Ash Greninja would destroy pretty much anything that doesn't resist water ngl.
For me, he's definitely Champ level BUT he's prolly among those in the bottom alongside Iris
But to be honest the weakest champions are probably on the same level of different regions elite four members for example I don't think iris is better than drake

Tobias uses gameshark but nobody calls it. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Kalos is okay but it is definitely not the best anime arc. That was unanimously sinnoh, it had the most compelling story, the best character development and it had dawn!
People forget that he lost against Alan in Kalos final who battled against 50 mega evolved pokemon in a row and I think people forgot that before Ash went in to the final match he battled against someone, yeah he was weak but a battle is a battle and he almost defeated Diantha and Gardevoir with Ash Greninja if he didnt pass out. Swallow had guts ability. Pikachu’s thunderbolt paralysed swallow. Thunder armour was for show.
The right question is: "Can Ash beat Thanos ?"
Yes
I am TIRED of the joke that Ash got pity badges. Brock forfeited before Pikachu was unable to battle. Then Brock’s siblings attempted to physically prevent Ash from finishing off Brock’s Onix. Sure, Ash had no way of defeating Brock otherwise outside of the sprinkler incident, but between forfeiting and outside interference, Ash won that badge.
But even if you still say Ash didn’t properly earn that badge, he certainly earned the Cascade Badge. For one, he didn’t want to be given a Badge without a battle. Beyond that, Misty more or less Manipulated Pikachu into not battling against her, via friendship. That right there gave MISTY the Pity, and the official handicap. Meaning that without a type advantage, Ash nearly defeated Misty in a 2v2. Even if Ash didn’t defeat Misty (coughTeamRocketinterferencecough), he pushed her to her limit. If Misty’s flakey sisters say that Ash earned the Cascade Badge, then Ash freaking earned that Badge!!
Joke is old, let it die!!
What about Sabrina and Erika he definitely didn't win those
@@thetabbyguy921 I was mainly talking about Misty and Brock’s Badges.
To be fair about Erika, he did save her Gloom from dying in a fire. Character is tested as well, even if the games don’t talk about it.
Sabrina… is just OP before Ash got her to calm down and chill out. It’s one of the problems with her Anime version. I don’t remember if she ever comes back in a later episode or not.
Ash battled Agatha before doing the Battle Frontier that’s were Scott suggest that Ash take on the Frontier challenge he battles Gary before leaving for the Sinnoh
Unfortunately, Ash hasn't been able to defeat any elite four member from any region: Prima (even though it's really Lorelai), Drake (with the Shelgon and Altaria), Agatha, or Flint. I know there was an episode where he and Goh defeated Winstrom, who was the elite four member of the Kalos region, but this is about how strong ASH is, no how strong Ash and Goh are together.
But the only thing is that Winstrom was more of a challenge rather than a legit battle.
@@jaycomplexkidrandle1889 Perhaps, but he still had to beaten in order to progress. And Ash and Goh worked together to defeat him, and I wouldn't count that because, even if it was a challenge, Ash didn't defeat him by himself.
but he beat the 7 frontier brains who are canonically on elite 4 level at least, he couldn't defeat E4 members after the battle frontier for the same reason Ash's pikachu tied with Paul's elekid and lost in the first sinnoh gym, in other words... because writers didn't let him to do it
