I like how, when Joseph goes to place his hands on Jacob's shoulders (or face), Jacob pulls Joseph's hands down, instead making Joseph place his hands on Jacob's chest. I feel it's moments like those that show that Joseph doesn't have the same domineering relationship with Jacob than he has with John or Faith (Where they are a bit scared of him, and worship his every move). Joseph and Jacob's relationship seems more equal because of it, likely because Jacob is the older brother, and likely because Jacob didn't seem to have as much blind faith as John or Faith. Sure, Jacob was definitely second to Joseph, but it seemed as though Joseph treated Jacob with a bit more respect .
I kinda got the impression that Jacob was distressed by what his brother said here too, although that might just be me..
But yeah, Jacob was a soldier and survived a truly brutal event so he probably won't submit as easily
Amen. Jacob is my cinnamon bun. 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤 I wuv him SOOOOOO FUCKING MUCH! OOF! >w
This game and New Dawn are something I point to when I want to blast the Free The Nipple movement, because if male and female breasts are equal, Joseph Seed is an incestuous pervert since he is constantly touching men in his family on the chest.
Jacob was changed by war
@@angelbite444 you ok pal?
This moment was legitimately the scariest moment in the game for me.. He was clearly shaken when he admitted this which showed clarity I didn't think he had and gave his psychoic break a very plausible reason..
His wife had faith when he didn't, she died and he didn't--the nurses and doctors had faith while he didn't and when he was told to pray for her he either heard nothing but his own insecurities and possibly subconscious thoughts that it'd be better if no one had survived the accident or his own psychosis convinced him that God wanted him to have faith and make sure others did too by sacrificing anyone who holds your attention on more earthly matters
Either way, after this scene I knew that he was willing to sacrifice anything to the faith he believed in and if he could suffocate his own infant daughter, killing some random deputy would be nothing to him
Yeah I just played the through the scene today, had to rewatch it on youtube bc that shit was just terrifying. I was thinking he would try to convince deputy again to join his side by being down to earth and vulnerable to him nope, he just admits that he suffocated his own daughter to death and that just caught me off guard
Before this cut-scene I was undecided, but after it can definitively say Joseph is the best Far Cry villain yet
Pagan Mins got him beat in my mind
Vaas
Vaas
🏺 is the best
Vaas so much better
I have a feeling that music box jacob has, was originally a gift. For his niece.
One of the best "scenes" in gaming history. Gives me a lot of "Dark Knight" Joker vibes with just how disturbing and well done the whole thing is.
3:10 the music at that part gives me chills every time
shepard tone
That speech was just so captivating and so dark. I see kinda why he did it. It was "Not God's will" for that baby to live but mankind's will. He "saw" this and killed her after what should've killed her
i think he knew that he was gonna start Eden's Gate, and didn't have time for a child, so he took that lil bitch out.
You could say he euthanized her.
@@whiteboyfunksucks Boi
Bah, this is just self-denial. He saw his daughter as a burden and killed her not to get in his way, he would just hold him back, just like this. And the worst part is that in his elfishness he didn't even deliver her to adoption, as he denied her the chance to have a life ("If I won't have her, no one else will").
@@yutro213 Not true. Nearly every cutscene with Joseph describes certain elements of Jungianism. Shortly, a story about the death of his daughter. This is not a way to escape responsibility, as you described above, this is a way to break the boundaries within ourselves that make us human, in order to go beyond them. There are so many references about Jungianism (Carl Jung), Synchronicity, hermeticism, spiritual alchemy. The writer apparently worked hard over the story. Did you miss the part where Joseph said "pure" and "innocent". And at the end he said "release"? (Release the pure and innocent soul from the already dying and suffering matter that was not even born properly, that made no sin but already has to suffer) You see, what he did was he allowed the innocent soul to escape from material realm and escape the dying matter to return to god's realm so that god can bind the soul to some other matter that will probably have a better life (yes, hermeticists believed in reincarnation) I know it's "cruel" and "immoral", but in case you didn't know, the Bible and Quran contain a lot of violence BUT NONETHELESS similar stories as well. Why do you think monasteries and their philosophies exist? Some people literally believe they HAVE TO SACRIFICE everything they owned, everything they held dear, reject anyone from their former secular life and take a new name and lead a certain way of life to break their inner limits and become closer to god
I think he mercy killed his daugther. Something about his monologue makes me believe his daughter ended up in some kind of coma.
AP3XF0X yeah that could be true, but the mentioning of the tubes, the doctors telling him to remain strong and him praying for her makes me believe she was in a coma
How is that mercy killing? Lmao..
No shit, he said he pinched her oxygen tube shut until she stopped moving.
James Denike She was born prematurely, not many babies survive after a birth like that, and when they do, they usual end up growing up into a life full of life changing disabilities. John had nothing to his name, there's no way he'd have been able to care for a child like that. What John did took extreme to a whole new level, but it was the merciful thing to do to prevent anymore potential suffering.

Joseph’s prophecies all came true.
he made them come true, their bases were clearly old nuclear silos, he had the nukes detonated since no one in their right mind would nuke the barren landscape of Montana
Keltic Sage they would certainly nuke Montana considering all the missiles there to prevent us from firing back at them. The creator confirmed the cult had nothing to do with the nukes going off
a nuke only affects the surface it wouldn't touch a silo
@@kelticsage No. God really was on Joseph's side. How do you explain the entire sequence in New Dawn when the hallucination of Joseph leads you to EG's holy book, which leads you to a magical tree with Joseph waiting there for you?
Not leaving the county was the seventh seal.
So he killed his daughter
ALUMNI ¿¿¿ Yes.
Slow down there Klumbo, leave some mysteries for the rest of us.
Philip Godsworth LOL
ALUMNI ¿¿¿ He is really sick.
LOL No!?!? He just strangled the life outta her in a friendly way
LMFAO
You know when watching this I was reminded about Abraham. God chose Abraham to become the leader of his people, or at least to become the beginning, and to prove his faith he told Abraham to sacrifice the son he prayed for. Abraham did so but God stopped him at the last minute.
If God chose Joseph, then where is his daughter?
Jeremiah 23:16 "Do not listen to what the prophets are prophesying to you; they fill you with false hopes. They speak visions from their own minds, not from the mouth of the LORD.
craxnor Its very much a parallel to the old testament
Daniel E. Torres except this god is pissed and more cruel plus the child would be a burden for him and stop him from fulfilling his plan to prepare for the collapse
Who cares about that savage religion
Right, and I agree with you. The point of God asking that of Abraham though was to show us 2 things. 1: How devoted we must be to God. That we must be willing to sacrifice what we value most in the world for the sake of the Lord. 2: That God will never actually require us to make a sacrifice like that. This was also quite revolutionary when you consider just how many ancient civilizations engaged in human sacrifice. Those in the middle east during biblical times, were no exception.
The big issue with Joseph Seed and his being appointed/blessed by/chosen by God, or however you want to say it, is that it is a work of fiction. Thus the writer's can say that Joseph really is carrying out God's will, even though the acts appear evil. This is only possible though because it is a bunch of people writing what God's will is in the story, which is clearly not what it would be in real life.
"Get outta here Peaches" XDD
czure94 why is that funny when he said that?
It was just funny haha. I can't explain why haha. Plus peaches is the name of the FFH
Thats my cousins name
John Seed no wtf
I'm horrified, but imagine being the father of a braindead baby girl.
Sometimes, I'm scared of the choices I know I would make, had I not lived such a fortunate life.
In my mind, I say Joseph did the right thing and put her outta her misery.
She wasn’t Braindead
CJusticeHappen21 She was not Braindead. Joseph killed her because he wanted.
John Donovan
No, he killed her because it was in gods 'will of testament' that he kill her, to show devotion to god, no matter what cost. He was still a father, he still must have cared for his daughter, but god told him to take her out. Not because he wanted to.
YoursTruly :3 Nope he killed his own baby daughter brcause he wanted. Do you really think that any god would ask something disgusting like that?
When I listened to him. I realized that he is really sick. His methods are really terrible.
Faith Rorke and he is still in denial at his wife died, he made himself Believe at was part of god plan but really he refused to believe at god let her die after giving birth because he might be a Christian his whole life but only to see his wife die and so he was driven in to madness and kill & hurting other people so they can feel pain as he feels when he lost his wife and most likely kill his own daughter because she reason his wife die and his family are fuck up in head as him because Jacob kill his own comrade so he can save his own life to have more rations and not only at but Miller was his best friend and he kill him in cold blood, John seed he was nice and caring but was Beaten by his parents senseless until he said yes as kid, but when turned as adult he changed from nice and caring into a sick Monster, last Faith she was ostracized by her community and threatened by her parents possibly abuse and rape, so she did drug her whole life until she meet Joseph who welcome her at project at eden gate, then she started manipulating people do what she says because none of people have free will any more when they trust her, so yeah see innocent children they were back then but got abuse by there parents when they become as adults, they turn into sick monsters and making everyone else’s feel their pain they went through their whole life, all of this cult thing would never happen if they seek for medical help instead of think it god plan or god trials for them.
Frost sgt You're right.
Frost sgt Joseph also raped faith
Alan W when was that mentioned?
Corey Casciano no he didnt raped her
When he told me this, i was staring him with a "You're dead you piece of shit" face
This part really got under my skin
I actually developed a liking to Joseph until I saw this
I love his voice.
Joseph clearly forgot about the story of Abraham.
No, God forgot the story of Abraham because he didn't send an angel to stop Joseph before the girl died.
@@Dennis-nc3vw We all forget things from time to time ...
I think it's more like the writers of the game forgot about that story.
The acting in this scene is amazing I just played through this part again
Such a sick guy man!!!! I just hit this part in the game... But he is so insane.... He believes he is living gods way but he isnt he is calling himself the father forcing stuff upon people and taking the lives that God put on the earth... The test in this scenario is if he was going to be a man and be the dad his daughter needed!!!!
DrumKilla565
They don't call me bad guys for nothing
Ummm...I assume you feel differently now that you've finished the game. It's very clear in New Dawn Joseph actually did talk to God.
Only youuuuuu.
...say yeeesss or fuck youuuuuuu
Healer Queen 6aDpaK YES!!!!!!
Faith! I want to be in the bliss with u ❤❤❤
DOOM DEMON then walk the Path
Healer Queen 6aDpaK I will.
Damn! Grek Bryk is amazing. There is something great about him and bad guys
His story made me look at him like he is so fucking sick in the head he needed to be put down
Only You !
That's another reason why all the endings were horrible for the game, this is the one FC villain that needed to be put down and you don't get to do it at all.
Al Boreland why all stories need to have happy ending
In this case it felt like my work was all for nothing, a literal waste of time. Never before in my gaming history have I felt such a defeat before that cannot be overridden with any luck or skill.
Al Boreland kind of like real life sometimes huh?
Real life arguments are a moot point when you have a single sheriff's deputy (a fresh rookie on top of that) take on an entire cult army.
Al Boreland oh so basically any video game can't have a dark ending?
If it was God, He would have saved your daughter's life.
Whoo baby after the far cry 6 ending call this goes deeper than I thought, especially the way he sounded over the call
He reminds me of Dutch going from a Loving father figure to Arthur to thinking he was god
Greg Bryk deserves an oscar for this performance . Absolutely incredible
And this is where Joseph Seed lost me. The Truth is, he saw his daughter as a burden and killed her not to get in his way, she would have just held him back, this had nothing to do with "God", this is all on him alone. And the worst part is that, in his selfishness, he didn't even bother to deliver her to adoption for someone else to raise her, as he denied her the chance to have a life ("If I won't have her, no one else will"). Joseph Seed chronically refused to take accontability for his actions, and only cared about forcing his own will on the others, no matter what.
Farcry 6 dlc is awesome, you get all the lore of the villain of the last 3 games (primal not included) not much is said about Joseph wife and Daughter tho even in the ending phone mail
Joseph is awesome.
GTA GAMER Easy ok? I just joking..
rA9 me too also are you Chloe or RA9 or is Chloe RA9? im confused
GTA GAMER Hmmmmmm? Maybe.
Bruhhh he’s a maniac!!
Ah yes, I'd definitely love a dad who would take away my oxygen supply and watch as the last bit of life leaves me.
Yup what a great man. Definitely not some delusional maniac. Nope not at all.
He can look crazy and sick but he was right about everythink
Well no he wasn't.
You are a good youtuber
sniks _1088
Are you this guy, but on another account
This is why Ethan seemed so out of place. I figured God wanted to free up Joseph Seed's calendar, so that's why he told him to kill his daughter. But why was God fine with him having a son?
Yes he certainly was a sick man. A heathen🔥
When I saw this. I was like uh oh we are gonna deal with a very sick sick person.
Joseph need help.
Wow and he had a son in new dawn
So messed up.
I noticed that Jacob kept looking at pratt, why,
To make sure he didn't causes problem
Change the title for people that haven't completed the game ffs.
Beni
If the people cared about spoilers, they wouldn't be watching it now would they
I was lowkey pissed because at the time I hadn't completed the game and this spoilt it big time for me.

@Part-Time Gamer Bigman this comment is 4 years old.
I sorta feel sick...
Goddamn Joseph. You are crazy.
Says the psycho
Yes!! Sacrifice the weak.
Does anyone have this monologue wrote down?!
BPRGaming I know you are in pain. The Lord giveth, and the Lord taketh, hm? But you’re not the only one to be tested… did you know that I had a wife? (Shows his tattoo to the deputy) So beautiful, isn’t she? We were pregnant with our first child. And we were just babies ourselves, really. And I was terrified. On becoming a father. Mostly about money. She wasn’t worried. She had faith that things were going to work out. She always had faith… And then one day, she was going to go visit a friend. There was an accident… and the Lord taketh. And they rushed me to a hospital and put me in a room with this little pink bundle stuffed with tubes and had to be strong because my little girl was going to live. God was looking out for our daughter. And they left me in a, alone in a room with her. I just… stared… at my daughter. So helpless. So innocent… and all she had in the world was me. A nobody, from nowhere, with nothing. And in that moment I knew that God was testing me. He was laying out a path before me and all I had to do was choose. So I put my hand on my little girls head and I leaned in and I could smell. And we prayed together. Prayed for wisdom. Prayed for strength… then I knew. I heard God’s plan for me. And I took my fingers and I put them on that little plastic tube taped to her angelic face and I pinched it shut. And after a little while her legs began to kick and kick… then nothing… stillness. Release. The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh. Pain… sacrifice… these are all part of his test, and we have to prove that we can serve God no matter what he asks.
Some people don't ike joseph bc of this but understand mercy killing it was it needed but like to dying animals he did what he did was right
Not really, he did it because of God.
I don't even know what the fuck you just said.
What's more disgusting, your views or your English?
Yeah no
Spoiler
He thinks we must all serve the god. Typical religious fanatic.
