The scariest thing about the scene is how Deputy Pratt has the power to kill Jacob so easily here, as he's in such a vulnerable position trusting Pratt to just clean shave him like that. It just shows how controlled Jacob had him.
He could kill him, and likely be killed immediately afterwards by someone else. It's actually Jacob who's an idiot for making himself be placed into such a weak position where he could easily be killed.
Yeah, I think Pratt was considering it when he looked at the knife but decided not to. Poor dude ;n;

Jacob is easily my favorite of the four. The most interesting by far, he lacks the erratic actions of John, Faith's dementia, and your interactions with him feel more purposeful than the other two heralds. For one thing he's actually trying to do something about you(unlike John who just wants to convert you, and Faith's... whatever she was up too). The reason he wins over Joseph is simple in my mind, unfortunately you'll have to actually finish the game(or watch a spoiler on youtube) to get that reason.

All 4 is my favourite, each has their own way to do things, and it's all well organized if you think about it. John Welcome Members, Faith "Blisses" them to believe in the Father, Jacob trains them to be soldiers and at the end Joseph either accepts or discharge them.
@Z3us Nobody was supposed to wait 17 years. Just because New Dawn takes place 17 years after FC5 doesnt mean thats how long people were down in their bunkers. By that time they started rebuilding society. They waited like 4-5 maybe 6 years at max in bunkers.

I feel like the rookie killed that militia soldier in his cell, I thought the body was in the other cell with the wolf but it’s the same cell, probably made the rookie experience a version of his story, he even says at the beginning “7 days” is how long the room lasted in his cell, and clarity came on the 8th day for jacob

I wish the combat in this game was more brutal and gory and realistic it would make those shooting sections a lot more fun.

The most epic dialogue of the game

It's bizarre how many of you suggest he couldn't die with honor. His friend was dead anyway, that's what he's trying to tell the player. In that realization, he found clarity and knew that killing him and eating him would be the only way one could at least survive. The only way he could be made into the right man, and be brought to the place he is now. Nothing dishonorable about facing the facts. To be honest, I wanted to play for the cult most of the game. Their philosophy is pretty solid. I didn't like Faith though.
I'll put it this way. The collapse was coming, Joseph was right. What group do you think had the right mindset to endure it? To thrive within it? Had you not destroyed all the bunkers, the Peggies would have.
Exactly! While extreme from the outside, what they did was necessary to survive the collapse.
Jacob especially. Even with preparation, resources would be limited, and only the most useful, the "strong" should be kept alive. If only a couple hundred people were going to survive the end of the world, I would accept death for the greater good. The people with the best genes and skills should survive, because the rest will only hinder humanity's eventual rebuild.

The whole Nuke thing was one nice big bliss trip. Joseph bumps over those barrels, and already you've been blissed throughout the whole game. When you start to play again, you can see under the map that it states "you killed the Father" etc etc, meaning you survived the bliss trip and wake up, able to fight on and take out more outposts.
