I just brought some leather for a necklace and when I put it on my neck it was very rough, this has helped me a BUNCH

Thank you I have been working with stiff leather for years and your the first person that could help me soften up my leather cord. Thanks Teri
Teri, This is so good to hear that now you have a solution.
So happy to hear this😊
Thank you so much for this! I gave my boyfriend an epoxy ring and wanted to give him the option to wear it as a necklace. But the ring is super light so I definitely need to soften the cord I bought to make it hang nice and feel comfortable.
And for what it’s worth, your videos are great. You’re extremely personable and helpful. Keep it up!
Erika, That is great to hear!

Thanks for this tip. Leather at hobby lobby comes wound on a piece of cardboard.
Yes, that's right. I get it wholesale here in Atlanta,so it comes on a spool. Less expensive. Depends on how much you need.😊
Thank you. Very useful. 😊

Barbara, I am very happy to hear this😀thanks for commenting
Great idea! Im just considering using leather in bracelets!
Wonderful!!! You will love the leather and doing bracelets 👍with it🌼🌻
Thanks, nice to know this can be done without steaming the leather. I made a bracelet with my own woodturned beads strung on 3mm leather cord with leather barrel knots in between my woodturned beads, but the leather was too stiff as a bracelet so I pulled it apart, undid the barrel knots which retained some of their kink. I will try your method to unkink the leather so I can make a choker with it. Seems a lot of people are copying each others videos on youtube. You sound more American than Italian! PS - the tool you call a 'clamp' is actually called a 'vice'.
Thank you so much 😊 I am happy it will help you🌷
My parents are from Italy, but I was born here from n the USA🇺🇸🤩
Thank you. I appreciate the info
You are so welcome, happy it will help🙂you with your projects
Thank you for sharing. I had purchased some leather cord necklaces a long time ago (10 years) and they are still in brand new condition. I never used them because they were "distorted" and did not look right when being worn. Your information in this video was wonderful and I was able to use them for my projects. Game changer!

I am very happy to hear this😀thanks for commenting
I am definitely going to .try that. I made a pair of earrings with leather tassels and they don’t move that freely
Wonderful, Let us all know how it works out for you Jude
@@thecreativeitalian7611 Sure, I will.
Thank you great tip. Will this also prevent cracking when braiding it?
Gloria, I cannot say for sure if it will prevent cracking when braiding, it will depend on the leather. My guess is, as long as the leather is not super dried out, you should be good. If it is dry, there are leather conditioners to address that. Do let me go how it goes after braiding.😊
Will this work the same with deerskin or suede?
I have not used either one. I say try a small piece and see how the it does.
Do share your results as it can help all of us😊
My problem is it is wrinkled fron it being wrapped around the cardboard.
Have you tried steaming your leather?
@@thecreativeitalian7611 yesterday I steamed with a thin piece of cloth between and it seems to work 👌 Thanks
@@dianawoods6991 that is so good to hear😊 thanks for letting me know Diana
Helpful tip. However, your "vice" is not a clamp.
Clifford, thanks so much for your feedback.
What is that called? Ha😀I have been calling that a clamp forever 🤣
