How To Remove Patina -Brass Aging 100% Without Damage
Wow, both crocheting and soldering! I am impressed! Do you know if those brass stamps can be used to make patterns in the solder? Have you tried?
Have you tried using nylon stockings as a buffer to get a good shine at the very end? Not many know this, but used nylon stockings are the absolute best to shine up those leather shoes, they are used to get a good window shine as well, you can sharpen your knives with nylon stockings if you want them razor sharp and of course polish your gold, silver and tin! Thank you for teaching me, it is a beautiful pendant, just like you!
Tips for tips😂
Exactly what I was looking for - thank you!
You are so welcome!!🌷
Thank you for the tip, it worked absolutely wonderfully.

Katercranberry, Thanks so much, hope it helps the artists out there that solder🌻☀🌻
You're an amazing instructor. Thanks so much!
@NiraTocco I truly appreciate your compliment! So happy to hear that my tutorials🌸🌷😊 help
It might not be sticking because some copper wire is coated, if you by raw copper wire & then tin it, it should stick & you won't need to use the emery board to rought it up, there is coated copper wire that is for wire wrapping only not soldering, that may be the case, I could be wrong to as I don't know what you've used , great channel😊
You are exactly right on the coated wire. Solder will not stick to it, but will on non-coated copper wire. Thanks for sharing this, helpful for all of us.
Hi thank you so much for your video. What soldering iron do you use? It seems quiet heavy duty. I’m onto my 4th iron and not working as well specially winter time.thanks
hello @stellau3028 I use Weller, I love mine, I have had it going on 8 years. www.amazon.com/Weller 40W Digital Soldering Station -WLC100 Black. This is exactly what you see in the video,me know how it works out for you. Also there is a UA-cam video of a Weller expert showing how to care for it, plus do's and don'ts when using lead free and leaded solder. I watched it three times, to make sure I was clear on everything to maintain it. 😊☀🌷
I bought some 4 mm (white) bolo cord that was so stiff when i pulled some off the spool, that it retained its coiled state, like curly hair that will not relax into a straight style. I read about dampening it and using a hair dryer, which I was planning to try, but then I thought about using the new clothes steamer that I just got after our 20-year old one bit the dust. I just ran the steamer head along the stiff cord and I could feel it relaxing so quickly. It was easy-peasy and it worked like a charm. I softened 5 lengths of cord that I had cut in about 10 minutes, and made 5 "girly" bolo ties, with silver filigree settings for 5 light blue and white cameo style cabochons with a bas relief design with hummingbirds and lilies (or some similarly shaped flower). Really nice cooler look for the hotter weather. If you have a blow gun hair dryer, no doubt that will work, but if you have a clothes steamer, it might go a little faster. Oh, and you can glue the bolo tips on as soon as the cord is relaxed, too. It will stay softened. My black bolo cord is made by a different maker, (brand name Tacool) and it was so supple when I first used it, it was already relaxed, but both the black and white cords are now supple, tightly braided and don't come unraveled, and they have a smooth surface and a pliable feel. Just what you ought to look for in bolo cords, as well as a low luster.
What a great idea I’m so glad that worked out so good for you and thank you for sharing it because myself and others will read your comment here and it could be very helpful🌷🌺😀🌷🌺
Thanks for your content, Does that patina work on steel ma'am?
I don’t know, as I have not done it on steel. If you do it on steel, will you let us know how it worked out?😊
Spot on! Just what I needed.

Love this!! From one fellow pizon to another!! Creative Italians!!! Questions about the buttons you used, will the soldering hold on just metal? I have a few vintage buttons i would love to try this on!! Thanks for your tutorials!!!! Ciao
Hello and thank you! Yes, it should, but you will need to apply flux before soldering. Let me know how it works out! Fun project😊🌻
Thanks for this tip. Leather at hobby lobby comes wound on a piece of cardboard.
Yes, that's right. I get it wholesale here in Atlanta,so it comes on a spool. Less expensive. Depends on how much you need.😊
Is this silver wire you are using ? Or a copper wire ? Please let me know I’d like to try this. 🫶
It’s sliver on copper wire. This brand has never failed me, no tarnishing. I have used it for 7 years.🌸🌻🌷
Thanks so much!
You are so welcome, hope it helps👍
Thank you! This is exactly what I needed. Something very different with solder, and you teach it so well. Love it!
Thank you and so happy to hear you like this fun, unique look with solder 🌸🌷☀️

So how do I sodder to my shoe. Don't think shoes were meant to spider to.
Sodder
Great tutorial, thank you 🙏 Please just say solder correctly! It's infuriatingly distracting when it's pronounced sodder...🤯
Awwwww I hope it didn’t spoil your time here. It’s how it comes out and that’s probably not going to change. Do come back and visit! Thanks for watching 😊
Tried it out while still watching the video. Worked like a gem! Thank you so much!!!
That is awesome!!! I appreciate you letting me know🌻🌻🌻
I hope you're using lead free solder Edit: I just saw your other short. I'm glad you're being safe! ❤
Just use a mix of baking soda and peroxide and an old tooth brush. Takes it right off no damage. No heating necessary. Just did it.
Alison, this is awesome to know. It's way easier. Thank you so much. Can the brass be soldered afterwards? With my method, sometimes yes and sometimes no.
Thank you!
You're welcome! 😊🌸🌷

Hi, so glad I found your channel. Your videos are awesome. What is that soldering round tool that your turtle sits on? Looks like a very helpful sturdy piece. Thanks
Hello and thank you. Its a piece of metal someone gave me.Not sure what exactly it is.I am pretty sure you can find something at a hardware store? There has to be something that would work for you. If I see anything I will jump on here and let you know. I am always at a hardware store.👍😊

Thank you!!It is super easy There is a video here I did on my channel with a step by step necklace using this technique 🌸🌷😊
Eeee so cute!! I have a crochet kit, and this seems less intimidating than the other project I planned. Thanks ma’am!
Great! I hope you give it a go! So easy ! There is a video here I did on my channel with a step by step necklace using this technique 🌸🌷😊
Great ideas! I just subscribed to your channel! Thanks for sharing! I love your brass pendants but I’m having trouble finding them! Can you share where you get all your cool “brass pendants” you use? TIA.
Hello Karen The brass stampings come from a vendor who lives in Florida, and he comes to Atlanta where I live once a month at a trade at a tradeshow . Unfortunately, he does not have a website where you can purchase them because he travels all over the United States doing these shows . However, I have been on Etsy and I have found some there so you may want to give that a try . I hope you find some because they are fun to make pendants from🌸🌷💕
PS Thank you so much for subscribing and if you have any questions about anything, feel free to reach out 🌸🌷😊

Do you use to make stainless steel soldering? If you do, could you please explain a little bit? Thank you so much! Congrats for your channel!
I have never done stainless steel soldering. However, if you contact www.sra-solder.com/ They might be able to help you.😊
@@thecreativeitalian7611 thank you so much for sharing this information! I', gratefull. Best success for you!
How is your stove top SO CLEAN! 😯
I am so obsessive about cleaning😂😂😂
Love this ! I have a question about the raised metal piece that your turtle was sitting on ? What is it called ? Also what gauge is your thinner wire ? And where are s it available. I definitely see the advantage to using them both ! Thanks for your reply
Those are two brass stampings soldered together. That I think is a a Lilly pad? The solder wire does not have a gauge number like jewelry or craft wire I purchased this at Hobby Lobby. Also this website might have it. SRA Soldering Products www.sra-solder.com Amazon also might have this, I am pretty sure I saw it there. Hope I helped you with this. Cheers, Maria
@@thecreativeitalian7611 thanks Maria!! I’ll look for some !! I think I need it 🤣

I’m using a Weller 100 iron . Are the knife and round tip available for that size iron?
Hello, Yes they are available on Weller.com or I got mine on Amazon. Put in the Weller Iron Model you use on Amazon, they will populate some for you.
You get acid to clean it before soldering
I did not know that, thank you
