Wow, both crocheting and soldering! I am impressed! Do you know if those brass stamps can be used to make patterns in the solder? Have you tried?

Have you tried using nylon stockings as a buffer to get a good shine at the very end? Not many know this, but used nylon stockings are the absolute best to shine up those leather shoes, they are used to get a good window shine as well, you can sharpen your knives with nylon stockings if you want them razor sharp and of course polish your gold, silver and tin! Thank you for teaching me, it is a beautiful pendant, just like you!

It might not be sticking because some copper wire is coated, if you by raw copper wire & then tin it, it should stick & you won't need to use the emery board to rought it up, there is coated copper wire that is for wire wrapping only not soldering, that may be the case, I could be wrong to as I don't know what you've used , great channel😊

    • @thecreativeitalian7611

You are exactly right on the coated wire. Solder will not stick to it, but will on non-coated copper wire. Thanks for sharing this, helpful for all of us.

hello @stellau3028 I use Weller, I love mine, I have had it going on 8 years. www.amazon.com/Weller 40W Digital Soldering Station -WLC100 Black. This is exactly what you see in the video,me know how it works out for you. Also there is a UA-cam video of a Weller expert showing how to care for it, plus do's and don'ts when using lead free and leaded solder. I watched it three times, to make sure I was clear on everything to maintain it. 😊☀🌷

I bought some 4 mm (white) bolo cord that was so stiff when i pulled some off the spool, that it retained its coiled state, like curly hair that will not relax into a straight style. I read about dampening it and using a hair dryer, which I was planning to try, but then I thought about using the new clothes steamer that I just got after our 20-year old one bit the dust. I just ran the steamer head along the stiff cord and I could feel it relaxing so quickly. It was easy-peasy and it worked like a charm. I softened 5 lengths of cord that I had cut in about 10 minutes, and made 5 "girly" bolo ties, with silver filigree settings for 5 light blue and white cameo style cabochons with a bas relief design with hummingbirds and lilies (or some similarly shaped flower). Really nice cooler look for the hotter weather. If you have a blow gun hair dryer, no doubt that will work, but if you have a clothes steamer, it might go a little faster. Oh, and you can glue the bolo tips on as soon as the cord is relaxed, too. It will stay softened. My black bolo cord is made by a different maker, (brand name Tacool) and it was so supple when I first used it, it was already relaxed, but both the black and white cords are now supple, tightly braided and don't come unraveled, and they have a smooth surface and a pliable feel. Just what you ought to look for in bolo cords, as well as a low luster.
