    I had all the action figures you showed at 3:15. I too included them into my star wars adventures. I was so excited to get Twiki. I damaged the sticker on his chest. I push it in with my finger to see what was under it.

    I'm generation X. This is the one toy line I don't remember being around in any of the stores. Nor do I remember any of the other kids owning a single figure. But, watching Buck Rogers in the 25th Century was one of the highlights of Saturday morning.

    Never had any of these action figures as a kid or the 1/18 scale space ships that they piloted. But I did have the small diecast buck Rogers starfighter. Had many adventures with that ship. I would pretend that my kenner star wars millennium falcon was an evil alien spaceship and Buck Rogers would have many space battles against it. Just last year, I was able to acquire a vintage mego 1/18 scale starfighter in great condition along with Buck Rogers, Dr. Huer and a Draconian Guard to add to my collection. Again, another outstanding review. Thanks for sharing!

    Have never seen Buck Rogers, decided to add Twiki to my random figures that could blend in with Star Wars figures.

    I never had any of the figures as a kid, was all always told "You have enough action figures". It would take me 40+ years to be able to find and start collecting them. Twiki was my all time favorite, after that of course was Buck.

    • @WeHadThat

      Sometimes the wait makes picking up a toy even better...but I'm definitely sorry that you didn't get a chance to play with Buck, Twiki, and the rest of the Buck Rogers figures as a kid!

      @@WeHadThat This is very true, I still get the same feeling I had a kid when I find a figure or toy I didn't have....even more so. My wife jokingly accuses me of "playing with my action figures", every time I find a new one and have to decide where in my collection I'm going to put them and in what scenario I want them in lol.

      Mego did a killer job on those 12" Buck Rogers figures! I had all of them but Twiki as an adult, but had to sell them one year when money was tight. I'd love to at least get the 12" Buck and Tiger Man again!

    When playing with this toy as a child I would always re imagine Twiki as a "frustration bot" that all of the characters (good and evil) would get their frustrations out on.
    I'm sure Twiki really resonated with many of us. He did So much so with me that I got Beedee Beedee Beedee in quotes tattooed on the back of my neck.
    I am such a super stan for that little metal bastard that I tried to get Beedee Beedee Beedee on a license plate. And even after I pointed out to them how long license plates are in Great Britain the Dade County DMV in Florida still denied my request.
    After months of litigation to right this injustice I lost. But that case wasn't about winning or losing, it was about making a point.
    My 2nd choice "BUCK79" was taken by a retired softcore actor that lives in the Clearwater area. I knew I had to get creative so i went with plan C. I had them print a plate that reads "VUCK79" so that I could at least reach native Spanish speakers that are as enthusiastic as me about Buck and Twiki.
    I am in no way bitter about there denial of my 1st request for a personalized license plate. I sleep well knowing that even if the state of Florida couldn't meet me halfway on my license plate at least I was man enough to meet myself halfway on it.

    You need more subs. Your videos are funny and very high quality. Poor Tiger man. Never had any Buck Rogers toys as a kid, just watched the show. I bought a couple mego carded ones probably 20 years ago and sold them. I wish I had them back in the collection!

    Could you imagine if Twiki's Dr Theopolis had, rather than an ordinary sticker, a prismatic sticker that would look like it flashed different lights when moved... It would look like Dr Theopolis was talking !

  • @RevBasilChristi

    I had almost half of the set, missing Dr. Huer, Kane, Ardella, Tiger Man, and Colonel Deering (Consumers' Distributing sold the series in two separate sets, so, of course, I chose the one with Buck and Twiki). By the way, I also had the same problem with the Draconian Guard's thumb.

    • @WeHadThat
      @WeHadThat  3 роки тому

      I picked them up on the single cards as a kid. Their thumbs seem to have been pretty fragile. I see a lot of these figures missing their thumbs!

    I LOVED my Twiki action figure ! I had him and Buck... but... I traded my Twiki... for a ******* Draconian Guard !.... A ******* DRACONIAN GUARD ! I swear the kid I traded him with had some dirt on me that I was afraid he'd tell on me for, cause I absolutely adored my Twiki figure. And what's not to love... he was perfectly scaled with other 3 3/4" figures, had superior articulation of Micronauts and GI Joes and was adorable as hell ! And I really dug robots... all my childhood and even through to today I think they're cool.
    Damn, I'm glad no one knows what that kid had on me...

    • @paulwalsh2344
      @paulwalsh2344 2 роки тому

      My Draconian Guard soon lost his thumbs too... but likely as punishment for allowing Buck to escape !
      ... yeah... sometimes my play went dark...

    Yes I had all of them and we used to play with them me and my sister as members of the Rebel Alliance sometimes they'd help a GI Joe defend against Cobra we would use twiki a sort of comic relief we had all them we never had the hatchet brighter though but we did have the Starfighter my grandmother was very generous and we'll get this anything we want for Christmas or for birthday so there you go I was lucky enough that to Draconian guard so I use them against the of it's the Empire though
