I hated the salted caramel cashew milk one😡 o tried to get an apple pie with caramel flavor but I did not like that ice cream at all. So delicious vanilla bean coconut milk is definitely a win

Honestly, I really like the SoDelicious cashew milk ice cream pints in the vanilla and salted caramel. Maybe give those a shot and see what you think.

Cashew anything is better than anything else. Cashew cheeses, cashew milks and ice creams... They're just the creamiest.
Their salted caramel ice cream is some of the best ice cream I've ever had, vegan or not. I'm so upset she didn't try it!!
I don't usually like things overly sweet, but I think the salted caramel cashewmilk bars from So Delicious are soooo good! The chocolate shell is the perfect balance of bittersweetness and melts in your mouth, and the salty caramel kind of offsets the sweetness of the ice cream. I honestly couldn't believe it when you spit it out. I love all their cashewmilk ice creams.

Not a lot of vegan options in my area, but Ben & Jerry's is my tried and true. I hardly bother with anything else. Their almond milk line is sooooo good, especially their chocolate chip cookie dough. Aldi's store brand vanilla almond milk ice cream is great, but unfortunately it's one of their seasonal offerings.

@@MerleONeal also, so delicious has a new formula called "wonder milk" and it is SO much better than their previous formula. We've tried the chocolate and strawberry wonder milk ones and they are good, still pretty sweet, but way better!
Trader Joe’s has a number of vegan ice creams and “novelties” like sandwiches and cones. I think we need a part 2 for sure!

I grew up with Rice Dream ice cream in the 90s… almost anything else is pretty damn good when you were used to one option in the 90s 🤷🏻♀️

The 365 chocolate peanut butter swirl one is in my top faves because of that peanut butter swirl..its so thick, kinda salty..makes the whole ice cream worth it. and they don't make it difficult to get big spoonfuls of the peanut butter.
Also, the only SoDelicious ice cream I get is their CASHEWMILK version of Salted Caramel! It is lifechanging. I've tried their other flavors/alternative milks and they are just not as good as the cashewmilk salted caramel
I never had the peanut butter one because I eat it frequently enough outside of ice cream, the salted caramel one you mentioned is literally my favorite though lol
Merle, I'm curious about how long these ice creams were sitting out. A lot of vegan ice creams (esp. coconut milk) are downright icy straight from the fridge. Even my favorite (Ben & Jerry's) benefits from a 20 second zap in the microwave.
On an unrelated note Trader Joe's vegan ice cream is weirdly, but nicely,creamy even IN the freezer. I thought my freezer was broken but everything else was frozen as it should be

I def didn't zap any of them, but most were out for at least 5-10 minutes. but to be honest, most were melting too fast - only a few were solid like blocks
When I went vegan 17 years ago I don't remember many choices in vegan ice cream, maybe a toffutti or a sorbet, so it wasn't something I regularly shopped for if at all.
Now there are so many ice cream options that vegans are spitting some out in utter disgust. Never imagined I'd see the day...
Can you try Vegan Yogurt ranking? I went to the store and there were soo.. many vegan Yogurt brands. ( SoDelicious also has a brand that I tried, which I would say is pretty spot on to dairy Yogurt)

The So Delicious Vanilla Bean with oat milk is very good. It’s creamy and taste a lot like vanilla!
I don't know why, but the Oatly raspberry swirl tastes so much better than the other flavors. It's creamier with more flavor. Best vegan ice cream I've had.

For anyone that lives in Texas, I highly recommend the HEB brand dairy free ice cream. I just recently tried it and the vanilla flavor is hands down the best ever vegan ice cream I've tasted. I have tasted a few of their other flavors too and they were all yummy

Yeah, it's easy to make at home... coconut and ur favourite frozen fruit blended... unfortunately, it freezes like a rock so u ha e to eat it after u blend it

the so delicious no sugar added coconut vanilla is honestly good. but i found that Coconut Bliss (little pricey) is the holy grail of all vegan ice creams
When I got diagnosed with chemical fragrance allergy the first thing my doctor told me was that I couldn’t have ice cream because artificial flavors always and natural flavors almost always contain perfume! For some reason she primarily associated that with ice cream…So the suntan lotion and toothpaste flavor comparisons make sense on a chemical level. I’m not vegan but I’ve been so happy to find some Oatly vegan ice creams without the perfume aka flavors and for FODMAP friendliness.
NEW ICE CREAM BRAND ALERT - I worked for a new dairy free ice cream for one of my consulting classes, it's called SweetPea and its made from chickpea protein! It's a heck of a lot more creamy than usual plant-based ice cream and it doesn't have that weird aftertaste, please try it, they deserve more awareness!!
for ice cream, ben and jerrys is also my go to. i personally am a huge fan of the milk and cookies flavor, i've had the dairy version and non dairy and i feel like they taste identical. for ice cream bars the magnum non dairy are AMAZING. 😃

Can you show more nut free dairy alternatives for vegan options. I want to incorporate more vegan options but most alternatives like cheese are nut or coconut based
I can try to hunt some down!! The Cado, Oatly, and soy milk So Delicious are nut free. Sadly, these were most of the ones I could find near me BUTTTT I will absolutely keep that in mind for rankings and recipes that I make for the channel!!

man, I'm amazed at how many options you have over there! I'm of the mindset "if it's delicious and vegan, why bother with the non-vegan alternative?". So far ice cream, chocolate and cheese are the ones I haven't found a replacement for. Meat? Don't need it. Milk? Don't drink it. Cheese will probably be impossible, but I'll definitely give Oatly and Ben&Jerry's ice cream a try. Doesn't have to mimic dairy ice cream as long as it's yummy

I'm not sure if you have it in the US but Swedish glace is genuinely the best! It's been our for YEARS like my mum used to eat it before she was vegan 20 years ago and my non-vegan friends love it!

If you do another one, the breyers oat milk ice cream is literally the best I’ve had. I’ve been vegan for 4 years and it was insane when I first tried it!! The vanilla is literally better than every other ice cream I’ve tried.

Ben & Jerry's does vegan ice cream so well. I love the almond brittle flavor and Colin Kaepernick's Change the Whirled. Kind bar makes plant based ice cream bars that are INSANE though...those are my all time fave.

If you're ever in Seattle or Erewhon in LA, try Frankie and Jo's - it's seriously the best vegan ice cream out there. Definitely pricey, but worth it.
I actually really like the mint chip from cado. However, I also really like mint chip ice cream. It is a bit gummy though.
The So Delicious Salted Caramel dipped are my favorites though lol I put peanut butter on them (cuts the sweetness also) and it’s only a treat every now and then.

glad that you liked the Oatly ice creams. we bought some but my sister left it out overnight and so all the oat solids sort of sunk to the bottom and after that the top was flavorless so I'm kind of scarred

Limited to the flavors here in rural Canada but one of my faves is So Delicious salted caramel cluster cashew base. Magnum also make a non dairy bar. Also Drumsticks has a non dairy option too.

word. the netflix n chilld is my usual go-to. as others have said, the salted caramel is the best so delicious flavor. my other favorites are all local, so its probably not worth mentioning... if you can find cardamom kiss from revolution brand, grab it....o yea! the vegan coffee boba pint from trader joes is great, too
I don't think any of those are worth spitting out, and So Delicious is pretty good. Plus, melty ice cream is so much better than hard ice cream.

Trader Joe's has a really good Strawberry one, has almonds in it. I think only springtime. Haagen Das had an amazing chocolate one but I haven't been able to find it for a long time ☹️

Jeni’s has some of my favorite vegan ice cream. Especially the cold brew with coconut cream because it’s so hard to find a vegan coffee flavored ice cream. The price is the killer on it though. So expensive but damn it tastes good.

My favorite is Planet Oat chocolate peanut butter!! Ohhh my gosh it’s amazing. Also, Favorite Day strawberry and fudge.
If it's available you should try the brand frozen boutique (i'm from Mexico and they sell it in Costco here), and idk if it can count as an ice cream but the açai sorbet from açai roots is really good

I personally really love the Coconut Bliss Coconut Almond Crunch ice cream
bars and many Ben and Jerry’s vegan flavors (PB half baked is my fav)! Also I love the Jeni’s vegan ice cream options, they’re a bit pricey but worth it in my opinion. I really like the Texas Sheet Cake flavor and I’ve had the Caramel Pecan Sticky Bun flavor which is pretty good.

I have 2 Ben & Jerry's recs. "Milk" and Cookies and Americone Dream. One is made from sunflower seed butter, the other is made from almond milk. My husband eats vegan ice cream because just doesn't do well with dairy. I've tried both of these flavors and thoroughly enjoy them. Very comparable to dairy ice cream(imo).

You should’ve tried the So Delicious Vanilla Bean Coconutmilk with sugar! That one is more creamy, is not chalky at all and has the vanilla flecks. It’s very strong in coconut flavor but still pretty yummy!
I am primarily plant based but I am allergic to cashews! I would love for you to find vegan cheese that’s yummy that is not cashew based. I’m struggling to get on board with vegan cheese and I could use a little help!!! 🤞🏽❤️thanks for another great video Merle!
