- Coming August 6th 2024. Escalation of Freedom is the first major update for HELLDIVERS 2. Get ready to take on the new "Super-Helldive" CR10 difficulty, deadly new enemies, new mission types and much more.
The Galactic War rages on and Super Earth needs you to take arms and dive back into the fight for liberty and managed democracy!

@@H4is3nbergThe vast majority of special weapons in the game are pretty good. The people that complain about balance are the ones that don’t actually branch out and try new things. I ain’t saying the balance is perfect but compared to other games it’s really not that bad as people make it out to be.

i hope we get a tank with heavy armor that only the biggest enemies can damage from the front and a weakpoint on the back, kinda like the Automaton tank has. It would make the War of Attrition a lot more fun imo against the bots
We won't. The only confirmed vehicles are a light recon car and a medium armored truck (both for mobility, not damage).

There's a chance the Bastion Tank Destroyer may make a return. But it will be a while. It's not even in any of the data-mined files yet. I'm sure Arrowhead would love to bring back all the stuff they made in the 1st game into the 2nd game. It just might take some time to figure out the best way to do it in the new 3D playing field.
The fact that the helldivers are such a threat even in small numbers, the automatons have resulted and heavy artillery weaponry, and the terminids have resulted in bigger and more durable bugs to fight.

There was a huge buff patch that buffed almost all that was bad and now the game feels a lot better
Every patch with a nerf had more weapons and stratagems buffed. Last update literally had nothing but buffs. It’s been months since the last nerf. Almost every weapon or stratagem is stronger than it’s release version.

Yeah, these new enemies are going to screw us over. They better give us new weapons or stratagems or just more slots to bring along, because these enemies (especially the Automaton ones) seem unfair.

I’m hoping we’re getting a fairly large warbond to come with this DIFFICULTY TWEAK also considering that we didn’t receive one this month. ( missed opportunity for a 4th of July warbond btw)
Yeah, errr.. no. There are more countries on the planet than the USA. I would never want a "stars and stripes" Warbond or anything of that failing country, and Arrowhead is based in Sweden, why cater specifically to the United States? I'm glad they don't as I'd prefer actual cool stuff rather than stars and red/white/blue colored things.

Call me biased for suggesting my own country but with the way American wars and politics are I’m just saying that it’s a missed opportunity for weapons and outfits that can refer to the 4th of July it doesn’t have to include the colors of red white and blue but something that could be a reference like how viper commandos warbond is a reference to the movie predator and even released on the anniversary of the movie. but I wouldn’t mind seeing what’s in store for the games’ equivalent of Independence Day
@micgelogaming I believe Super Earth Freedom Day is in October. So hopefully we get our over-the-top freedom and democracy warbond sometime around then!

Please my brothers in liberty, for the sake of Super Earth fix the spawn rates prior to this release. Was playing on haz five (FIVE) and me and 2 buddies killed over 500 bugs each. We were going out of our way to not alert more patrols too. Its ridiculous
I mean, that sounds about right for Diff 5, me and one friend will go out just the two of us and kill upwards of 1.5k bots total, and bugs always has way more enemies spawning that bots do; Helldivers 2 is a Horde Shooter after all.
@TheMythcaller6299 I get that. But before that patch with them changing the amounts of spawns per person in the game, this is an absurd amount for haz 5. 5 is supposed to be a good middle ground. There was never a time when there wasn't a group always heading right for us, even if we were nowhere near an objective. It punishes those players who don't want to play with randoms and only have 1 or 2 others or none at all.
@@AngryBaldyGaming Ah, I see, I am used to playing on Diff 6 (gotta get those Super Samples) but went down to 5 when the super samples went down to 5 as well, so it might just be my skewed perception of things coming down from a higher difficulty, and because of that I can't see the issue. I think probably spawns for solo divers should be tweaked, but like when I said me & my friend kill upwards of 1.5k bots, I meant it is just the two of us, no randos, we go in, kill bots and do the objectives, and go out. I personally don't see the issue because while annoying sometimes, I don''t see a problem with the spawns on 5, and I think that for a middle difficulty it is a fair amount of spawns, though it is a jump up from 4. Again, I think it may just be that I have come down a difficulty and am just enjoying the relatively easy 2 person experience on Diff 5 as apposed to the more grueling 2 person Diff 6.

@@muscularclassrepresentativ5663 😅I'm trying not to be that way, because everyone plays at their own pace, and in most games me & my friends play, I am the one holding people back from progress or difficulties they find more fun, because I don't play games usually to challenge myself, it's just to relax; so while I'm not trying to say Skill Issue, there is an element of "do it more, find what works, and maybe the problem won't be as much of a problem anymore". In terms of loadout, I like bringing an Eagle, a Quasar, an Ammo Pack, and then maybe an orbital or a turret or something, and then run the Fire Shotgun & the Freagle, focusing on anti-armour while my buddy does what he likes and focuses on crowd clear
Haven’t played the game in months really looking forward to content that will hopefully draw me back in. I really love the core gameplay
Honestly, this game just needs some fresh, enjoyable and more unique missions. As long as they can deliver that, I think this game will have a healthy future

And not a single mention of game stability, fixing bugs and glitches, or weapon and stratagem balancing. Also dropping loads of new content? I'm prepared for helldiver's 2 to be more bugged and unstable than ever because holy shit this is so much new content, and how could they test and fix everything on summer break? Man I'm excited also traumatized from all their previously bugged content drops and updates. We still have that massive list of day 1 issues, would love if they mentioned the tech side of the game and not completely ignore it there..
They aren't going to talk about that in a content drop trailer.
The guns and strategems are all fine right now, like Jesus Christ they just buffed everything in the past few updates and people still complain. Yeah it’s annoying that past updates needed weapons but now the devs are only buffing the weapons really now and are communicating more with the player base, the last things the devs want to do is roll out more nerfs for the weapons which they know would be a bad idea
@@cheeseburger1293The people that are complaining about the games balance are the ones that are still using the quasar cannon/ shield pack in every load out and they refuse to branch out and try new weapons/stratagems.

Balance is still awful in this game. Weapons aim like pool noodles and hit like airsoft. Most of the upgrades/unlocks don't even feel meaningful or exciting. Example, 5% CD for almost 500 samples on these recent ship upgrades is hilarious. Spoiler, you won't even notice.
You'll spend more time running away to reload or wait on cooldown than anything else... which isn't fun. They should rename this game "Terry Fox Simulator, With Bugs."
Still in need of major balance changes, not higher difficulty to really realize the fun that could be hand inside this sandbox.
I'm saving up to buy the game. Hang on, fellas. I'll be fighting for liberty soon.
helldivers still not available to our region. (Philippines) it was available and I can buy the game until the psn bullshit and now they just completely removed it.

It is not Arrowheads problem. They are the developers. Sony (the Studio who are giving the money) did this, not Arrowhead.
From the start the game was a psn exclusive. It shouldn’t have been available to be purchased in the first place, that was wrong.

The best part is the developing war and how they don't tell us everything they're doing. Literally my favorite part of this game. All the sudden they drop flying bugs or the factory striders. Fun as hell. Just like in a real war new things are seen for the first time and shock people. Imagine seeing the first tank in ww1

Right? All these clips have like 5 automatons at one time instead of 200 all shooting at you from across the map. Gonna be great when both stationary and now moving rocket artillery are also raining down on you. The ragdoll is gonna be ridiculous
@@AngryBaldyGaming Yeah, I am going to play a lot right now so I won't have to grind anymore after this update. More ragdolls, armored enemies, rocket walker (yay, more unending rocket barrages), artillery that shoots towards you, the impaler... what kind of weapons/strategems are we getting in return to actually do something against them? It is already hard on higher difficulties (with mediocre/bad teammates).
No and no plans to unfortunately. This video is just a pr stunt and nothing more. They know what to fix. They're choosing not to.

Yea people say the game is dying only because of playerbase decrease from 500k to 50k at one moment but they are forgetting that many very alive games have lower daily player peaks then helldivers rn 💀

Yeah, that is why I am practically solely fighting Automatons. But these new Automaton enemies look like utter crap - ragdolls from explosions and more rocket enemies, as if the rocket Devastator wasn't already enough (which can shoot endless barrages)...
@@DutchGuyMike I love sniping the Devastators' heads, but Scout Striders are really annoying when they're outside of grenade/stratagem throwing range. I'll be relying on the Commando rocket launcher for these new bots unless Arrowhead nerfs it for this new update 😟

The Autocannon mech is pretty good (at some point they said we will be able to take 2), but there is a recon light car and medium armored truck already in the game files. But they aren't designed for fighting - I think we will never get an actual tank or something, because that would be way too awesome and "too powerful" for Arrowhead...
