I purchased one of these EGO chainsaws last weekend and have about 6 hours of use on it. I think it's great for small / medium jobs. No messing with 2cycle oil/gas mixing, starts every time, much quieter, plenty of power. We'll see after a year worth of use but so far, not regretting the purchase.
Still loving this saw. My wife uses it almost exclusively as she doesn't want to deal with oil and gas or trying to start a gas saw. She also likes that it's quiet and she doesn't need hearing protection. We had a large number of trees cut from our property for pallet wood and we've been going around cleaning up the tops. She'll do the limbing and I'll buck up the larger pieces with a larger gas saw. The 2 ah battery that comes with it has lost a little power for cutting bigger stuff, so I purchased a 6 ah battery so we have a couple to rotate. That saw gets used at least three days a week and sometimes a lot more.
@@FatherOfTheParty I have the trimmer, mower and blower and have had no issues so far after several years other than a batter going bad and they replaced it..
Just remember to wear chaps because electric chainsaws are not like gas chainsaws we’re if you hit your chaps with a gas chainsaw it will bog down and die. With an electric chainsaw there is still momentum and with not bog down like an gas one meaning a deeper cut. So wear chaps. Especially if you’re doing a lot of cutting where you’re moving around a lot.
I have two kobalt 40 volt chainsaws, a kobalt weed eater and a leaf blower. One of the chainsaws i bought from a pawn shop it came with a battery and charger,. The other chainsaw i bought through Facebook marketplace, it came with 2 batteries and a charger. I have a few more batteries. I find that no batteries will last thata long time regardless of company or brand. Though i find the 4.0 ah and 5.0 ah will last longer that the 2.0 ah and 2.5 ah batteries
That chain with the auto-tensioner looks waaaay too loose. Could be because it's a new chain which will stretch and the chain is heating up making it looser. I wonder if I would rather just have the manual adjustment as in the 16" model? Auto adjust is great, unless it's not because then it isn't, right?
When the fast-action is in play carrying the brush, it reminds me of South Park animation.
Thanks for sharing the process, Jay!
A regular guy, like myself, with a great demonstration of the ECO 18" Chainsaw. Thanks for the video!

I wish the battery 🔋 products have longer battery run time !!!
But ego tools are great ! No complaints so far!
@@enriquelinares8172 Depends on the demand on the battery. I can easily do my yard, weedeat and use the blower on one battery..
I just bought one. Can't wait to try it out. Thanks for the great review. All that work...keeps ya young. 😉

@Olive Acres will do! This is my first battery-powered chainsaw. Thanks for the tip.
I just bought the 18" EGO chainsaw a month ago and have only had it out once, but it performed very well and I'm very happy with the purchase.
I have a lot of cutting this fall so I think that will be the true test. But I’ll always have my Stihl chainsaw handy.
Great video, what is the protective gear you are wearing over your jeans? Can I get it at say Amazon. Thanks!

Lot of people claiming no oil coming out and bar and chain overheating. Any issues like that?
I’m buying it next
That isn’t the newest version.
Had a feeling it wasn’t.
