I attended sgusom 87-91, matched into a gen surg residency, did fellowship
Never looked back, nobody ever asked where I went to school.
I worked with two other surgeons, one from Penn, other Yale.

Just to add about failing an exam: at SGU you need to achieve 69.5% on each exam to pass that exam in term 1. If you don't, you'll get an email that you're performing unsatisfactorily and they will offer you a program called ITI which is learning in smaller groups via major stop points. In order to pass the entire term you need to achieve a total of 528 'points' - your raw score from each exam contributes to these points, as well as participation points from small group, attending lecture (about 66 'free points' in total). The majority of the points you need to pass will come from exams. In other words - if you get less than 528 points overall, you will fail that term and be offered credit remediation.

About 4 months for terms 1/2 and 4/5, and then there is a term 3 that is around a month long in length.
