Great video. Very well done. What about a video on food shopping? Kyla says some items you would expect to be common are very hard to find. And I think she said some food is pretty expensive.
Pretty cool video😊, will definitely recommend if anyone asks, becausw students do inquire and are curious about these things (I say as a former Student Ambassador and new Alumni), i was always curious about housing on campus cause im local, so no need😂😂😂. Also, AC on campus is there to conbat the tropical heat😅, its much easier to manage than every dorm having individual units😋
What a change from my days in 1985-86! Where the dorms (True Blue Campus) consisted of very rustic amenities, (not to mention the invasion etc..) living and grooming relying on Cup showers (Water shortage) and hanging 5 Galons container to make Sun Tea!!. Calling home consisted of calling the operator and waiting many hours for a return call to get a line in the US. Dr. Alpert (for which the dorm in this presentation was named for) was a very good teacher in the island of St. Vincent. (He used to say to us students “You are no Ball of fire!!” Ha ha!! Very Proud to see how St. George’s has evolved to become a great school I feel proud to have attended! 😊
WTH. I was last there in 2006. My housing was nothing like this. I can only imagine with the tuition is nowadays. But I've been practicing for 15 years now so its a great option.
No cellphones and internet off campus wasn't an option for most people. I would definitely do it all over again. I landed my dream job, with friends and colleagues from all over the world. The hardest part was being away from family. Coming from Ca it was impossible to fly home for weddings, funerals, ect.. Lastly, no one asks me where I went to medical school. Residency, sure;) Good Luck! I played sports at UCSD, and to this day the intramural matches we would have (basketball, flagfootball) were some of the most competitive times in my life:) We still talk about those Friday night games to this day:) @@juliansolotorres
Hello Julian, thank you so much for your videos, they truly are helpful. I would love to know more about the families that go there together as I am changing careers and would love to know how to plan. How much would rent be for a 3-4 bedroom house/apartment? How expensive is it to rent a car there? While families are there, can the kids attend school? What kinds of activities do the spouses do while the other is in med school? Thank you again for your time. Jannerys.
@@juliansolotorres hi! I really hope you make a video answer to the questions above! It would be so helpful. Additionally, can spouses find work, if so what kind and pay?
The most i've seen is a couple with a small child (around 2 years old). The child would attend day care at a local facility. One parent was a PA and would do work online while doing TELE-Medicine while the other was a medical student. Rent for a decent 3 bedroom hose is around 2500-3000$USD. A decent rental car is about 350$USD. Grenada does not allow US citizens work for pay (the pay is very little) unless you specifically apply for SGU as a mentor, advisor etc. These require at least an MD or Masters, you'll have to get a work visa which may take a while to get. @@JannerysBatista
great video man! i wanted to know a little about the cost of rooms at La Zuli and Premium Properties. and do these come with washing machines or stoves, etc....
As of August 2022, La Zuli is roughly around 1700/month for a single including a washer/dryer. And the premium properties is around 1000 for a single with onsite washer and dryer.
Also, just to clarify, Grenada has no poisonous or venomous reptiles😅. So even if there was a lizard (which is more likely to happen in the Grand Anse area), they wont do anything 😊....im 10 months late but i hope this helps
@@juliansolotorres Are they venomous? I am deathly afraid of them so I hope they don't come towards you or fall on you or anything!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As always, loved the video! Always so informative and helpful :)
Thank you so much!

Yes! The main food source comes from IGA market and they do like to spike the price up ⬆️
Loved the vid! You are the best, may be seeing ya in the next year or so. God Bless.
Another awesome video, Julian! Thanks for the shoutout dude :)
Of course dude! So happy you could be a part of it :)
Feliz de verte .. Felicidades 👍
The kitchen in the first place reminds me of Brooklyn apartments. I guess I won't be missing home that much if I lived in Morris Alpert.

Muy bonitos todos y muy limpios felicidades 🙌
Awesome video. Are you able to confirm if there’s storage space under the bed in Morris Alpert like in Eric Gairy?
thanks for another helpful video! Was just looking into Grenada housing
Absolutely! I’m doing these videos for you guys. :)
How is the WiFi in granada? Especially the cellular WiFi and apartment WiFi?

That's so awesome! Yeah, the housing was really different back in your time in Grenada I'm sure.

This video was so helpful, thank you!
Of course!
Love watching your videos! What's the age rage of medical students at SGU? Is start at 30 years old ridiculous or is it common there?
The average age is hard to say! But there is definitely a good amount of people in their 30's! I was 27 when I started!
Age is just a number. Don't let fear determine your future.
Are any of your classmates on the island with families? I would love to ask them some questions about housing and costs. Thanks!
I do have a couple of friends with family here. Let me know what sort of questions you have for them!

I did Grenada too; graduating in '97. I lived in the Round Houses. Do they still exist?
Omg thank you so much for the information!! Also quick question! Is there any apartments that are pet friendly near SGU? 😢
Hey! Yes, there are several apartments that are pet-friendly around SGU. I know Premium properties is one/.

Out of curiosity, did your friend report any lizards in her La Zuli appartement too?
No lizards at lazuli as far as I’ve been told!

Please how can I contact you??
email julian88football@gmail.com
Did you take any vaccines before going? Is mosquito prevalent and how did you prevent this?
Just the COVID vaccine for med school. And YES so many mosquitos. I got a net.
how much is the rent at Lazuli
As on September 2022 it's 1750 a month
Can you live on campus all 4 years? Or do they make you move off campus after your first year?
I'm pretty sure you have to move out after the first two years. I'm not too sure though. Haven't heard of anyone doing that in the past.
Are there any other on campus housing options for med students? Like single suites?
Yes, there are a couple of dedicated dorm halls that are specifically for single students, but it costs about 200US$ more per month per term.
Is it cheaper to live off campus?
what are the prices for each property
I mention them in each part of the video.
how is the wifi on campus?
It’s spoti at first. But it has improved for sure!
How much is Lazulis rent? Thx
1720 US/ month
Hey! how much is rent for Kayla's spot?
They start at 1,745 USD utilities inclusive, with added costs for upper floors and views (north/south facing).
Hey for the lugguzi apartment do lizards invade your privacy there as well or on campus housing 😏
Lizards are everywhere.
