For windshields, I usually use piano or bass strings to cut the glue, it works like a charm ! Just pass it through the glue, and then I use a wooden stick to wrap the string around and have a better grip :)
There's a handy little tool you can get for cutting out glued in windscreens, has a nice solid handle so you can control it, a cable attached near the base to get extra pulling power on it and a strong little blade with a 90° bend in it. You work the blade in, twist it perpendicular to the glue joint then pull on it hard, it slices through beautifully so then you can just lift the window out, easy as 👌👍
Pro tip, When your stuck for spotweld bits, Irwin turbomax drill bits have a flatter end than a normal bit, and with the set you can use the size to match the spot.
They actually make a specific wire for sawing. It's not twisted the way the wire is for load-bearing applications, but to be course even as it wears. I buy it by the spool to cut PVC and conduit I can't get anything else to fit in around it. Works really well.
For future reference to remove a windshield, stick piano wire through the sealer top and bottom in the middle. Then simply use it as a saw with both handles on the outside. Much easier for one person to remove the glass this way. Shouldn't take more than 5 minutes to have the screen on a scrap pile. It will also work if you want to remove it without damage, but you need to take out the molding around the screen fist.
I believe those punches are made by Spring Tool and can be bought from Lee Valley Tool and of course Amazon. They've been around for a long time. I have some from 20yrs ago when I was in aviation. Pro tip for windshield removal. Get a guitar string a block of wood and a soldiering gun. Force sting through the glue on one end wrap string around wood block and other end of string around hot part of soldiering iron. Press button and pull gun and block evenly. It'll go through it like a hot knife through butter.
you can also use the top E string from a guitar to cut the glue into also but it takes two people one inside and out to cut it out goes surprisingly fast

Windshield removal is a bugger. There are so many tools. I have an extractor. (Crystal glass)A Milwaukee sawzall, with a shorter depth. Still a bugger.
I think his shirt should say 'I wrench' . For windows, we use a square wire nowadays, pulls right through. Insert through the top seam, exit through the bottom (yes, you need a long wire) and you cut through one half of the windshield bond at once. Also I've seen pro's use a very simple looking razor sharp cutting tool they just pull through by hand. Remember, that windshield (and others) are a structural part of the car.
