Bro let me just say how crazy it is that you list all of the battery life stats that the game will use. That's incredible and something I haven't or very rarely have seen before. Great work dude.
For the grinding aspect you can leave Digimon on the farm and just put your switch to sleep and time will continue to progress and they will gain levels and etc.
Jamir Connelly the only thing to keep in mind is if you want to do actually training you have to check in on it and tell them to start a new course, but otherwise just stick whoever you want in the farm (don’t leave the farm menu or anything open) and just hit the power button to put your switch to sleep, your play time will also continue to go up.
Once you need serious levels, the best thing to do is raise a platinum digimon and give them tactician usbs. They have 999 defense from lv1, and a party skill that massively boosts experience gained. Using them later on, you can get around 200k exp a fight, letting you level digimon absurdly quickly. The farm is nice for passive exp but it will take a really really long time to reach the higher points.
Regarding what you said in the beginning, nostalgia is often used for cheap profit by companies but it's true that our childhood and youngster series and heroes stay with us forever. It's comforting to rewatch some old episodes or arcs from old shows and, in the best case scenario, they remind us who we are, who we were and our journey from then to now. These are definitely worth it especially for digimon fans, I really like how they took a different approach w/ the story in these games despite them taking place in the same universe which I also found cool
Hackers Memory is probably my favorite of the 2 because the characters in Hudie are more likeable. Especially Erika and Chitose. But both are solid games and to be honest if you get the Platinum Digimon for training and find a good spot the grinding time goes by really quickly.
Erika for life, Keisuke is a better protagonist than aiba for sure, if you play it on pc you can play it at 1440p and 4k that makes the game super sharp.

Yes, you can nickname everyone you put in your party. And it does have similarities to Pokemon so some things will be familiar. The ABI stat with evolutions is kind of like EVs and vitamins in Pokemon and a lot of the story battles are like Trainer Battles with NPCs using Digimon Teams against yours. The combat system just uses more skill aspects than just elemental weaknesses. Like piercing that ignores defense and a wider array of status ailment types. And all battles are group battles instead of 1v1.
I would say yes. I got this game instead of sword and shield and wasn't disappointed. I think you'll find the more mature storyline refreshing after the non-stories of the main series games.
@@porters.5811 Personally, I didn't think SwSh was as bad as people were making it out to be, but these 2 games are no doubt much better than any main series pokemon game since gen 6 and definitely more in tune with their demographic.
@@Reviews2Go Long-time fan of the pokemon and digimon games here and i really gotta disagree with you guys there. First of, the pokemon games definetely require more skill, at least when it comes to PVP. Pokemon has evolved way beyond just elemental weaknesses.. there's weather, hazards, terrain, attack priority, buffs, debuffs, status inflictions, passive abilities, equipment... The first four of those are completely absent from digimon. Secondly, digimon does a bad job at telling you how strong you're supposed to be in an area. While in pokemon you can easily tell by looking at your own and your opponents level, Digimon never tells you the level of your opponent. As a result you'll often be either way too overleveled or underleveled for a boss fight. You won't notice beforehand, cause you'll usually only need 1 or 2 hits to defeat the random encounters on your way regardless. Third of all, 90% of all attacks in the cyber sleuth games are just recycled attacks of another element, meaning there's almost no variety. Fourth, a lot of boss fights won't actually be against Digimon, but so called Eaters. Basically their equivalent of an Ultra Beast, except you can't own them. And at last.. i've never seen any NPCs as annoying as the occult club except for Hop, Leon and Team Yell in Sword and Shield and Hau and Team Skull in Sun and Moon. Who the heck thought it was a good idea to put them in both games? The cyber sleuth games are definetely not good games to start your digimon journey with and i'd even call them mediocre at best, just like the Generation 7 and 8 pokemon games. Good games to start with are the Digimon World games for Nintendo DS or Digimon World Next Order on PS4 in my opinion
@@LS-gc8bj Unless you play in hard mode the difficulty curve is never an issue, these games aren't really hard. Even in boss fights. It's just that Pokemon is piss easy. As for the thing with attacks, this happens with Pokemon a lot too, and with shin megami tensei(a series that visibly influenced cyber sleuth) although to an admittedly smaller extent. And there's quite a lot of signature attacks in this game, which actually have a lot of variety. And yeah, Pokemon may be deeper in the PvP, but the single player is a joke compared to cyber sleuth even on easy mode. And that's because Cyber Sleuth/Hacker's memory were made mostly with single player in mind, with multiplayer being just a fun little addition. Not to mention that raising Digimon is far more fun and smooth than raising Pokemon due to the platinumnumemon/tactician USB exploit and the fact that Digimon cyber Sleuth doesn't withhold information about it's mechanics from you. I don't get your beef with the occult club either. I understand you may not like them, but they have very little presence in both games, unlike those other characters you mentioned and are meant for nothing more than comic relief and helping to advance the plot. Besides, no character in the cyber sleuth games, even the flimsy ones, is as infuriatingly badly written as chairman Rose
I have the OG game on PS4. My final 11 Mon Squad was so unnecessary in my opinion, but i wanted to make it. It consisted of Rosemon BM, MegaGargomon, HiAndromon, GranKuwagamon, Chaosdramon, Mastemon, Examon, Armageddemon, Apocalymon, Lucemon SM, and Alphamon Ouryuken.
I'm not a Digimon fan as I barely watched any of the series but I like RPGs. Is this game still worth playing for me even without the nostalgia factor?
Tbh people have been sleeping on digimon games for ever. Most recent digimon games (except digimon survive) have been bangers. I bought it on my vita originally and now I’m playing again on my ps5, since I bought a physical copy of it.
As I only just purchased this you answered my only question which was how do I actually get digimon once I’ve scanned them too 100% which was go too the lab which I havnt even gotten too yet so yeah thanks
So, should I have created a separate save file for Hacker’s Memory? There was still some things I wanted to finish in the main game, but now that I have started Hacker’s Memory, I can’t get back to the first game.
It is one of my favorite game of all time you did forgot the dlc you get all 341 in both games it will take some time but it is worth it and if you want you can watch TV as well best decision to put on the Nintendo switch ever

I would and have recommended this game if you're a fan of classic turn based rpgs this is definitely the game for you with over 200 different digimon and tons of other items for customization it has a little something for everyone
My biggest complaint about this game and I'm surprised you didn't mention it is that the in game dialogue can't be skipped. So much of the dialogue in this game is low quality that just drags on and on. Aside from that I enjoyed the game but the unstoppable dialogue made me want to never replay through the story again.
I won't deny it it was the best choice for bandai to have it on the Nintendo switch my ps vita I don't play it anymore but the switch lite is the best watch tv and playing and grinding for yen that is something you have to do to get everything else at the end of the game food wise
Does anyone know if the bonus items you get for save sharing can be gotten in both CS and HM? Also how does save sharing work In this game can you only link one save to another single save or can you link any HM save to any CS save?
I love this game and a lot of the digimon content is awesome I was just wondering something . I notice that they don’t have all DIGI amor eggs for some of the digimon the same for the spirit they only have the fire and light spirits which I don’t Mind but the fusion spirits of them weren’t in so I was just wondering was it just to much to add ?
so i have a save file issue with the orignal PS4 version of digimon story cyber sleuth i pre-ordered it with the dlc download of the digi-monstorus dlc but now my ps4 seems to not remember me downloading this dlc and because of this i cant load the save file does anyone know a fix for this!?
Last day for 40% off for this game discount.............ah I still cant decide which one I should buy, this one or DBH World Mission? Oh well.........just buy both since both still on sale wkwkwkwk
My only real issue is all the dialogue. All that text. I've sat there mashing the X Button(PS4) forever. That's the only thing I don't like about these games.
I remember I got this game when I was a kid and not like him very much because a certain digimons I wanted and level was kind of tedious I have the games for the PS4 and I just got to switch version today so I'm going to give it another shot
If you read no other comment, read this one: Yes, these games are well received, but the battle system is buried under massive amounts of narrative and dialogue, a lot of which doesn't even feel relevant to the main story. That is the TRUE grind. The narrative to battle ratio is about the opposite of what you'd expect, say, in a pokemon game. The battle system is also fairly convoluted and seems not quite polished with things being too op or not strong enough. You are also punished for not understanding the evolution system from the start once you want to get to mega - ABI may force you to grind as you won't be able to evolve into ANYTHING
On the battle system: I agree it seems pretty complicated. I assume I missed some aspect of it because it either seemed I won battles with no effort whatsoever or had extreme difficulty with them. I had a team of level 99 megas, and I was barely able to beat the game. With the amount of grinding I did, I would have breezed through most RPGs I've played. Again, this could just be me having missed something about how the system works, but I found it unusually challenging.
40 hours for both games? That’s cute. *[laughs in 200 hours on my file]* The battle system isn’t anywhere near as complicated as you think, either. Then again, this is coming from someone who played Digimon World Dusk (Digimon Story Moonlight in Japan) as a kid. If you’ve played any of the previous Digimon Story games, it’s extremely easy to jump into Cyber Sleuth and Hacker’s Memory. All I had to learn was the UI and other minor things. Apart from that, it was almost second nature to me. Though, even a friend of mine who was a total newcommer was able to grasp the gameplay just fine (she played Hacker’s Memory first, the tougher of the two imo). Battles can only seem hard if you’re not adequately prepared enough, or if your party composition is extremely bad for what you’re fighting (I.E. using a full team of Data digimon while trying to fight a Virus type, or not equipping your digimon properly to deal with statuses like Panic). In comparison to Digimon World Dusk and Dawn, the Cyber Sleuth games are far easier to get into imo.
@@97dusk 40 hours of play to reach both end games. This game really plays like ffXIII where you have this enormous linear dragged out gameplay and THEN you hit open world.
@@ddrguy3008 My first playthrough of Hacker's Memory alone was 70 hours, and it was around 60-70 during my first run of Cyber Sleuth. That's over 110 hours right there, not counting NG+ runs. How badly are you rushing through things if you're beating these games within 40 hours?
@@srzgaming2408 It's not really that tiring if you managed unlock every Digimons in Cyber Sleuth, you only need digivolve your favorite Digimon in Hacker Memories and digivolve few digimons that only available in Hacker Memories.
good review just a couple notes. 1. I don't think the stories are that strong in these games, especially the first game. The digital world actually isn't present at all except a very short chapter at the end and the main story doesn't even get going until over halfway through. Everything up until that is filler and most of the characters are just goofy. and 2. the grind isn't that bad at all. Yeah it's there but its nothing compared to the grind in digimon or most other turn based RPGs.

How soon?
I'm at the agency at the job board about to pick my first case and I dont even know when I'll turn the game back on to do that.
I wonder what Pokemon would be like if it took a more similar style to Cyber Sleuth. I'd love to see a pokemon game like this!
Wow! Thank you for the battery info. Subbed.
I haven't played a digimon game since world. I bought it on sale and it's not bad to hold me over until xenoblade.
Would this be a good first Digimon game for a Pokémon fan? Another question is it possible to nickname Digimon?

Unless you play in hard mode the difficulty curve is never an issue, these games aren't really hard.
Just got a Switch and imma buy this physically next! Thanks for reinforcing my need for this game!
Is this game still worth playing for me even without the nostalgia factor?
bet imma get it now especially with that sale on it
Tbh people have been sleeping on digimon games for ever. Most recent digimon games (except digimon survive) have been bangers. I bought it on my vita originally and now I’m playing again on my ps5, since I bought a physical copy of it.
Just started: can I use my mons from one in the other? Really proud of my badass gargomon
I have both games for the ps4 is it worth buying this game for the switch?
You can get any digimon to lvl 99 in like 15 minutes with no more than 2 hours of set up once so their is not really a bothersome grind
Im thinking to buy this game but it worry me that looks monotone with the combat and dungeons stuff
All the game looks the same in that aspect?
This reminds me of the anime movie Cyberwars I think iirc. where the antagonist is an AI that has gained self-awareness.
Fun Fact, the first digimon movie with diaboromon and summer wars where made by the same guy
Summer wars
Sec.... actually it doesn't really matter. 😂
Great review sir
Watching this before i buy it on my switch
Does this game have much in the way of side activities, like Persona 5's batting cages or 90% of the average Yakuza game?
I grew up in the 80/90s and was round teenage yrs when this all came out n omg I loved it way more than pokemon...so dark and got darker...the i.g. series..not the new age stuff...maybe the first 3gen...but great review
Informative video, thank you
On sale for $20 rn on e shop 🗣
My question is, can I obtain Hacker's Memmory exclusive digimon in the original Cyber Sleuth?
Yes, they have a transfer system
I would and have recommended this game if you're a fan of classic turn based rpgs this is definitely the game for you with over 200 different digimon and tons of other items for customization it has a little something for everyone
50% off right now! Thinking about getting it
Yikes random battles. Hard out for me.
Which better with pokemon shield?
A fighter is approaching... *AGUMON DIGIVOLVES TO ACTION*
Great review! I'm gonna get the game c:
Great video man
Is this game like persona in that it's just a slice-of-life visual novel disguised as a RPG, or is it an actual RPG?
At least 30 hours? What crazy quick speed game did you play?
Does the Nintendo switch version or ps4 lag the most i have both versions
My biggest complaint about this game and I'm surprised you didn't mention it is that the in game dialogue can't be skipped. So much of the dialogue in this game is low quality that just drags on and on. Aside from that I enjoyed the game but the unstoppable dialogue made me want to never replay through the story again.
I just got digimon cyber sleuth complete edition but I don't see (blk)agumon or (blk) gabumon did I have to preorder it to get it
its so good the game i recommend it!
I love this game and I think that is a Lot better than some of the new Pokemon games.
I won't deny it it was the best choice for bandai to have it on the Nintendo switch my ps vita I don't play it anymore but the switch lite is the best watch tv and playing and grinding for yen that is something you have to do to get everything else at the end of the game food wise
These are the best Digimon games ever and there’s a switch sale right now it ends January 1, 2021. Go bye ✋ 2020, thank God you’re over.
Its $25 on the eshop right now
Can someone who has no experience with digimon at all have a good time with this? Or is some baseline knowledge required?
It's 20 now
so i have a save file issue with the orignal PS4 version of digimon story cyber sleuth i pre-ordered it with the dlc download of the digi-monstorus dlc but now my ps4 seems to not remember me downloading this dlc and because of this i cant load the save file does anyone know a fix for this!?
Last day for 40% off for this game discount.............ah I still cant decide which one I should buy, this one or DBH World Mission? Oh well.........just buy both since both still on sale wkwkwkwk
My only real issue is all the dialogue. All that text.
I've sat there mashing the X Button(PS4) forever.
That's the only thing I don't like about these games.
If they were able to add two games into one cart. Why couldn't other companies do the same?
Is this a good starting point for digimon games?
just picked it up for $9.99!
I remember I got this game when I was a kid and not like him very much because a certain digimons I wanted and level was kind of tedious I have the games for the PS4 and I just got to switch version today so I'm going to give it another shot
Can I have a save file for both and play either one when I want without having to delete? Sorry I know this might be a dumb question 😅
*[laughs in 200 hours on my file]*
The battle system isn’t anywhere near as complicated as you think, either.
@@ddrguy3008
My first playthrough of Hacker's Memory alone was 70 hours, and it was around 60-70 during my first run of Cyber Sleuth. That's over 110 hours right there, not counting NG+ runs. How badly are you rushing through things if you're beating these games within 40 hours?
@@97dusk right... I forgot new game + was a tin...
Hi, I would like to know, once I have finished the cyber sleuth, am I able to transfer the data to hackers memory?
You can but only after you beat both games. Basically just for New Game Plus.
@@Reviews2Go So I have to play both of the story mode and finish it first then I can transfer the data?? That's so tiring 😅😪😪😪
@@srzgaming2408 It's not really that tiring if you managed unlock every Digimons in Cyber Sleuth, you only need digivolve your favorite Digimon in Hacker Memories and digivolve few digimons that only available in Hacker Memories.
Just grab 3 of the digimon that look like golden poop, put them first in line, then switch them out. Trust me.
Does anyone have the game and want to play online? I havent seen much online activity i would like to engage in some pvp battles
good review just a couple notes. 1. I don't think the stories are that strong in these games, especially the first game. The digital world actually isn't present at all except a very short chapter at the end and the main story doesn't even get going until over halfway through. Everything up until that is filler and most of the characters are just goofy. and 2. the grind isn't that bad at all. Yeah it's there but its nothing compared to the grind in digimon or most other turn based RPGs.
it sucks that there is no digimon cyber sleuth complete edition for ps4 in the us im only seeing it for steam and switch
That's because Complete Edition was only developed for PC and Switch. Probably because both games are available separately on PS4/Vita.
@@Reviews2Go if i get it on pc will it work with windows 11?
Just got this for $20 and gaddamn is it so worth it
Do you guys recommend this game? Is it like digimon world 3 or Digimon ReA?
Long live the grind.
Am i supposed to be able to rotate my camera in the game?
