A notary is like a lawyer who deals with these sales….the conditions, surveys, etc. In France it’s a notaire….same procedure for buying and selling property.
Congrats on your purchase. All of the details are very important and a little daunting for an ex-Pat. I just returned from a scouting trip to Lombardy and it took a bit of effort for me to understand what the cadastral value would be, ongoing IMU, trash etc. it was worthwhile to visit and see the town up close while getting this detail. I’m thinking about renting now.
Welcome back! I do have a question for you. Did you purchase the house as a second home and which was the commission percentage? I am looking for a property tu buy in Volterra and trying to compare your expenses with the list of expenses that the Realtor that I working with sent me. Thank you again and Congratulations.
We looking also, how do you buy and whats the best way to find something decent in a good location? Others have said a geometra might be able to help. Thanks for the videos. Update: sorry i just saw all your others videos which answer my questions ill go watch those cheers! :)
I used a professional translator to translate the deed and be an interpreter on the day of sale and I was charged only 550 euros for all that service. I guess I was lucky
Fantastic ! Congrats ! I'm remote closing in December. Are you opening a bank account there ? Its a second home for us. I will if I cant set up auto pay by credit card. We're in similar tiny town of 1300, in Molise.
Piedmont. Take a look through my past videos. I explain my tour through the entire country of Italy and why I chose this region. It's a perfect choice for me and what I want, but it will be different for everyone.
@aroundtheworldwithmike That's a nice region Congratulations! I'm still looking around and wherever I go MUST have public transportation because I won't own a car.
Congratulations! I am looking at properties in Southern Italy. Thank you for sharing your journey with us! This is exciting.
Good luck! I hope you find your dream place.
Fantastic information! I'm hoping this is me in 11 months!
Go for it! It’s possible.

It's exactly the same in Germany. Reasonably straightforward.
