My dad worked at Columbia Records NYC and every once in a while he would bring home Demo albums that he felt I may like. Well Dad hit it spot on with this album when i was in 8th grade. I have stuck with Loggins and Messina / Poco ever since. Thanks Dad. Dad passed 40 years ago this week.
I loved these guys!! My best friend and I listened to them on the regular. Being teens we used the lyrics descriptively. For instance, this song was about our boyfriends. Angry eyes was usually used to describe a parent or a teacher. It's great to hear them, still love their music and remember...
This is CRAZY! a GREAT song like this should have a t least 8 million views. A classic little gem... my favorite Loggins and Messina song! The only thing I don't like is that the song is way too short! February, 2024... let's make America Great Again... Trump 2024!!! Health, Joy, Peace and Blessings!
Memories of an old girlfriend. We loved this song in April 1973. By August 1974, I was on Okinawa with the United States Marine Corps. By the October 1974, she mailed me the dreaded "Dear John Letter." At 64 yrs old, I still think of her, when I hear this song.
I have been going out of my mind trying to remember the name of this song! Last time I heard it was over forty years ago, so could not remember the words. I just happened to stumble on this by accident...so glad I did. I absolutely love this song. Thanks for posting this :)
Back when this was a hit in early 1973, I was almost 18 years old and my cute girlfriend LOVED ❤️ this song. So many great memories of her and high-school. Six months later I joined the United States Marine Corps.
Lovely little 70's tune. and there are so many....i had several "Records' .. ( yes...round Vinyl discs that you'd put on a turntable...and play...and the fidelity was Stellar...not this 'squashed Digital shit now....) anyway... think i had "Full Sail' and "Best of Friends". This duo had so many killer songs.... takes me back.

I wanted to write Semper Fi, but didn’t know if that was proper coming from a civilian to a USMC vet. There’s not much live music around here in South Florida, so I’m spending more time on UA-cam than I ever have.

1973, great year great song. Then later that year I joined the Marine Corps. Found myself off the coast of South Carolina, on a vacation island called "Parris Island"

@peterkoerner8802 Peter, it was a great time to be a teenager. By the fall of 1973, I was in boot camp at Parris Island, South Carolina. Boy, was I missing my cute girlfriend. A doll baby, blonde hair, and brown eyes.
Love Loggins & Messina and a great old clip. Unfortunately, this was dubbed with the original album soundtrack...would have liked to hear the live version of this song.
Stoning to is on my same CD w/it on repeat. CDs are great for that; impossible w/albums but people weren't FAT from no remotes and getting up to do things.
I only went here because weed and song makes me horny and wanted to see their faces. I saw Kenny in person and he's a sexy boy. I liked the video even though information is wrong because THANKS FOR THE FACES. This is dubbed and not live which is what I wanted... same as song.

Oboe.
Me, too! Jon Clarke was the talented musician 👏!!
I don't know about THAT, radcam. He looked well-dressed enough...😸
Great song and wonderful harmony! Only wish the song was longer.
