- Here's a quick explanation video on how alt-tapping with basic and strange rhythmic orientation works in Clone Hero.
Video Editor: / @thebudderdanny
"CH Basics" is a tutorial series made to give the player the tips and tricks for becoming a top player that the games tutorials skipped out on. I don't teach individual methods with these tutorials, I teach how you can improve and the paths to take to do so.

When tell you to describe friffraff :

me = my favorite teacher
You should make a playlist with all your tutorials

Dude your fucking awesome man. I don't sub to any channels really but yours I did. Very informative and you are awesome with your community. A lot of youtubers are all about likes and views and I feel like that's all they care about but your different you have a serious passion for guitar hero and you just do your thing...keep doing you homie.
3:04 Uhhhhhhh this has freaked me the fuck out and it's time for me to stop doing that.
same here wtf
schmooey about to fucking die
Well, my first guitar is a PS3 Les Paul which I've only post-purchase discovered is less than ideal, but I don't live in a place where thrift stores are really a thing outside of old vintage donated clothing, and anything online needs a ton of shipping expenses so I kinda just hopped onto the first possible, useable guitars I could find in my country. They're fine for most base game songs as a way to re-learn a ton of my childhood "skill". Stamina and patterns have been my killer so far but also alt-tapping and anything that needs both hands in general. These tutorials are kinda excellent, especially with the song (and speed) recommendations for specific skills to build up, so it's time to learn with training weights in the form of a laggy, apparently fret-dropping controller so that if/when I upgrade I'll be able to really feel the changes hopefully.
Thanks a billion, Frif.
This is extremely helpful, thank you
Fuck this is just what I needed. Can't wait for more tutorials from you, dude.
would love to see a tutorial on two hand sweeps. for the life of me i haven’t been able to figure out an efficient method for any pattern
Doing a quad zig with your fretting hand anchored on green and alternating between trip zigs with right hand starting on red and yellow button usually works for me
Ayy friff is back with the tutorials!
3:24 rip in peace aby
What happened to them? I saw the pic, realized I hadn't seen them for a while and I can't find anything
@@InsanityPrevails he's still around, just has a new pfp
Hi I edited this and even though it was a bit of a time crunch edit since I'm working on 3 other videos as well right now (which yall will be seeing soon) any comments or critiques would be appreciated
Really...
@@nighthawk2611 ?
i hope and pray more of these videos come out
thank you for informing me about DVT from being crosslegged, even tho its comfy I knew I was fucking something up in the longrun..
I can alt-tap. But I can barely alt-tap anything other than 4 set trills. Anything where I need to fret orange is really hard and that's even with an xplorer. Everything else I just brute force tapping, alternating just breaks my brain.
silvera kicks my ass! perfect video for me
Have a day
YAY MORE TUTORIALS!
When also danny, UKOG, and Jason Would be Here... All my GH YT LEGENDS Would be in one Video 🔥
The Ode to Angelivia download link (At the main charter's YT page) is broken. Do you know any where else we can get that song? Thanks!
I tap the blue and orange notes only in ttfaf intro
bro i literally searched this yesterday what
I was wondering the same thing
3:10 .. is that you martincitopants?
I honestly can’t play CH without crossing my legs. My guitar sits on my higher thigh and is anchored against my body. How do I change this? I’ve tried to sit normal but the way the guitar sits, I feel like I’m straining my wrists.
it's about finding a relaxed position that's comfy for you - try looking at how other top ch players sit & hold the controller. also, use a strap
When you mention the posture thing, I've been trying to figure out a good posture for a while. I always feel like the guitars I'm using are too small. I've been doing a lot of gh2 lately (going for Jordan, which would get me the fgfc) and I've been using an sg controller for that.
I've had to cross my legs just to get the guitar high enough off my legs and lean over my guitar to be able to comfortably tap, but I do feel incredibly tense. This does generally get my best results, but it causes pain, and worsens my already bad posture. Alternatively, I've been able to play with my feet lifted up on my desk spread apart like I'm about to give birth and this works, but my accuracy suffers.
Is there a posture you've had work with these smaller sized guitars like the SG and Les Paul?
I still do those with the world tour and gh5 guitars, but it's not as necessary for me.
i've gotten too used to playing with the World Tour guitar, so i dunno - perhaps try getting used to letting the guitar hover a bit with the strap & not have it rest on your leg
@@Frif hmm. I've tried that with the SG and it doesn't center well, I'll try it with the les paul. I can put ps2 internals inside a les paul if I want to, but imo the mech frets respond best in an SG.
Most likely gotta tighten those straps
@@Frif Hi, i just started playing clone hero for 3 to 4 days and i found this page because of it, i should say that it's just awesome and really helpful. But since I'm so noob i still have so many questions, i play with a keyboard and i always set the modifier to "all taps"(and expert difficulty and i get a decent percentage), but 2 days ago i realised i could put the modifier on "none" ( i still didn't know the diffrence of the modifiers at that moment) i checked it for myself and omgg... playing with no modifier is HELL, it's so hard to strum on each note so i set it again to "all taps". But i wonder that should i actually keep playing with no modifier even if i have a keyboad ( it feels impossible even on hard and medium diff sometimes) ? Is no modifier only for players who have a guitar or sth ? What should i do if i want to play with no modifier with keyboard?
Sorry for this long reply lol
I mean tbh man, I cross my legs when I play and specifically in the subject, when I am alt-tapping and so far, my fingers as in deep vein thrombosis and my accuracy on alt-tapping is just fine really. I get where are you coming from but really, it depends how the person feels comfortable with you know
it's not about your fingers, it's about locking your body up & your legs - when you sit on a leg you restrict some of your tendons movement, and therefore restrict some of your speed. deep vein thrombosis is a thigh thing, and while a minor concern - still worth mentioning :>
I used to sit on a leg all the time, if you look back in most of my accomplishments pre summer-2020 you can see it, and i'm like, 3nps faster now than then from switching to a less restrictive sitting position - some stuff makes a world of difference
@@Frif yeah I remember those, I honestly never saw it in that way tbh. In a way, I can see it now. Sometimes, my right leg when I cross it at times, can put it to sleep so there is times where I have to normally sit while play. In most of my vids, I always have my legs crossed.
Friff I have foot problems. Should I still need to sit with both down, it helps my feet to sit crossed sometimes
you can rest a foot or leg over the top of your knee, that's fine, but yeah sitting on a leg and crossed makes playing fast hard
My keyboard has keyboard ghosting and is 30hz, i dont think i can play ridm clon
god I'm a drummer so it's so weird to start alt tapping with my left hand
How many tutorial series is this now?
adhd be like
I'd label this "Advance" in the title and not "Basics". Literally have zero clue what you're talking about and I've been playing since the release of the first Guitar Hero. The guitar language just isn't something that is "Muscle memory". Saying the "Green button" is something everyone would know or "strumming", but solo b's, anchor notes, pre anchor, two set trill patterns, like what? DO you have a video that explains all of the advance words?
yes, dictionary hero, although it's a tiny bit old
Aby slow PepeLaugh
I give up, this game's too frustrating, my wrist always hurts, and the skill potential is too great.
Ok can you make a tutorial in English now
🤣
