Just use conductive paste on the pins of your CPU. It'll be more YB than RGB and it won't last for long, but it'll be the best lighting your PC has ever seen.

Bad thing about RGB is sometimes it's the only version of a product made, and it just adds cost to said product if I'm going to not use the RGB. I also hate non standard software for things like RGB fans that have Windows only software, so as a Linux user I just avoid the RGB craze altogether if it can't be controlled by the hardware

What components? The highest end consumer motherboards usually have a bunch of RGB, which are marketed as "gamer" models. Mid range boards, which as far as I can tell, are far more reasonably priced and tend to have most of the useful features, often don't, or it's limited.
The best stuff almost never has RBG. Noctua fans, Samsung SSD's, nearly all power supplies (in fact, RGB on PSU's usually turns me off immediately). A lot of high end RAM kits have RGB, but there are great kits that don't from GSkill, Corsair and Crucial. And in the end, you can still turn it all off. Alot of great cases don't have any either. Lian Li makes some of the best cases in my opinion and most of theirs don't have any.
I find the complaints about LED's wildly overblown. Yes, there's a lot of it. No, it's not enough that you can't put together a mind blowingly awesome system without it.
EDIT - if there's actually a problem with this, it's that it's all a mess. RGB needs to be sorely standardized. Addressable should become the standard, there should be one single power connection, and the Mobo and AIB guys need to cut the shit with trying to be the king of the RGB hill. Open up your software and let users create and upload effects and patterns to distribute among themselves. I want manufacturers to deliver great hardware. The pretty stuff enthusiasts will generally handle themselves.

I just 5 days ago installed one 500 GB Delta Max SSD in my system, didn't had any issues reading the temperatures whit CPUID HWMonitor. It's around 31 Celsius (87 F) at all time, the color is a breathing effect synced with my MB, RAM and GPU, I'm using an Aorus X570 Elite MB. I have the drive mounted, with double tape, on a mini mobile plastic stand at a slight angle bellow the GPU and in direct path of the airflow from one of my 140mm fans, looks pretty cool like a small window into the soul of my computer.

Can't wait to not see it in my case.
Edit: I know it can be used as an external

Some HardwareCanucks videos are broken. The width is cropped for some reason they look weird and giving me headache.

I've never liked RGB or built a machine with it. Seems hokey to me. Of course one day the way the industry is going that'll be the only way I can build myself a PC. LOL

I'm not a fan of the branding - I mean the giant logo on the SSD is pretty ugly, but _nothing_ made after the mid-90s should be calling itself "Xtreem"

Guys I have an RTX 2080 Strix 8gb card with an i7 800k with 32gb 3200 ram with an 970 evo 1tb ssd why does the gameplay jump now and again even at high fps?

Wasn't this the one Jay had heat issues with? As in, the OS would freeze because the ssd got too hot from the rgb led's? Idk not sure, but from what he showed I'm never buying into this kinda rgb crap ^^
Edit: ahhh that was the previous Gen... Still don't care about shit rgb products like this ^^ also the temp test is flawed, as it's without a side panel, what's the temp after an 6 hours gaming sesh? Inside a case? Heat build up? That extra heat has to go somewhere ;)
