I've done several builds with the thermalright argb fans and have had zero issues except if you reuse them the screw holes are prone to strip, but at the price point this is virtually a non issue. The thermalright assassin cpu fan cooler and the aio frozen notte liquid cpu cooler are both phenomenal on a budget build.
Big things for RGB newbies to consider. - Whether or not it's daisy chainable "you want it to be" - Aesthetics "the fans blades light up or the outside ring lights up" + "the quality of the RGB lights" - Performance + noise - Cost If you have the money, get the Lian Li UNI V2 SL/AL/Infinity or the Phanteks D30 RGB fans. If you're on a budget, get the thermalright RGB fans or arctic's RGB fans. Usually people avoid Corsair cause of their dumb connections, controller, and software. Their new fans that just recently came out fixed the wiring problem tho but they are 50$ for a single fan... Cause of that, I would not recommend it. If you have the money, go for Phanteks or Lian Li instead. You can get the 3 packs of those for under $85.
I have like $50 worth of fans and my gpu rarely hits 60c overclocked and cpu stays in the 50s under load. I may get Lian li one day for aesthetics but not anytime soon
The Thermal right fans kinda outclasses a lot. Their surprisingly super quiet, the leds are very nice and customizable although it is basic. The airflow is pretty good. I installed this inside the white DIYPC "rainbow led" case that Newegg has for sale. Kind of a perfect case for people who don't care about the extras but still want something that looks nice
B-stock ARCTIC ARGB P14s are amazing, 10 each, which fantastic noise performance and work well on radiators. You can also get a b-stock 340 380 360 or 420 AIO liquid cooler from them which come stock with the same fans. They have entirely standard PWM fan and RGB connectors so you don't need any adapters, and they have PWM daisychaining and RGB daisychaining that's sequential so your RGB effects flow through the entire chain and any LED strips you add on to it, rather than acting like a splitter where every fan gets the same rgb pattern cloned.
Where's the Phantek D30-120? In my opinion they are better than the Lian Li AL120. I was going to buy the Lian Li, but what swayed me to the Phantek is the fact they have both forward and reverse airflow models, meaning you can have super clean looks without the ugly motor housing and spokes on display in your pretty glass case (NZXT H9 Flow in my case) when using them as intake fans. Plus the Phanteks come with covers for all the connections and screw holes.
So it depends on Mobo...CPU fan header 3 max and on a case fan header that does 2 amps you could do 6 maybe 7. I have 5 chained together on a chasis/case header and a thermalright 240 aio frozen notte ($50 steal) on my cpu header. all argb (7 fans) on one argb header. ASRock b450 mobo and the DIY mATX dual tempered case
hey man, new sub here. Great content, I reckon alotr of people would like to see a face off between the corsair fans at number 3 and the thermaltake Riing Quads
@@valpal9536 I've found them, so you didn't have to, it's the Dominator, there's 2 variants one that isn't titanium and one that Is that one is the non-titanium.
Really Nice Vid! However I was wondering if you get the Thermalright fans than how do you control them do you have to buy a hub to control the rgb and speeds or do they have a software?
Hey I’ve been a big fan but at some point I just stopped watching, and just came back and man you have changed! So close to 200k though! And also nice beard bro
Do only some motherboards let you choose 1 solid color? I’m interested in fans that can be both 1 solid color and can fade in and out of all the colors. I have a b550 tomahawk motherboard and I’m interested in fans that can be 1 single solid color. Is there any drivers for the fans or a separate controller for the color of the fans?
yeah we can tell you dont mind bad performance that is the reason you are using two fans under the gpu extracting air and just fighting the gpu for air.
Would 4exhuast fans and 8 intake fans be fine? Exhaust- 3 from the radiator on top and the La St exhaust fan on the top left then my intake 3 on the front mesh and 3 next to it and then 2 on the psu shroud pointed towards the gpu
I see a big price difference between the black and white Corsair QL120 fans like black is half the price of white I know white is usually more expensive but the descriptions are slightly different as well can anyone tell me if there’s actually any performance difference
Hello, need some tech advice☝🏻 I recently ordered the thermalight 3 pack to add to my pc. I currently hold 7 fans in my H9 flow case that has the capacity for 10 fans. I wanted to add more RGB as only 3 of 7 of my current fans are RGB. I’m worried about the low price of these thermalight fans and how it would affect my pc build. So I guess my question is , will my pc stop working with these added budget RGB fans
For anyone considering the QL 120s, I would strongly suggest against it. The leds are prone to breaking and turning pink. I got them replaced and its happened again.
You should do another updated fan comparison and include NZXT in the list. And another video idea that I’m currently let looking for is AIO liquid cooler comparisons! … BOOM, thank me later
guys if i have motherbord support argb can i controller fan speed and change argb with cooler master mobius 120p without separated controller... thanks in advance
Well im gonna buy haf 700 evo. So it comes 2x360±480rad with morbius ones. Just becouse of little better performing. Im hoping theres a new 3D from AMD before black friday...
Hi, how noisy are those thermalright fans? I have the cougar mx330-g air case, it includes 3 fans, and these fans at 1300 rpm makes 41 Db, Id like to upgrade these stock case fans whit something better and quieter.
I have corsair and for 130 bucks its too much for that buggy software and i dont wanna say that when i choose white 3 fans out of 9 have some leds purple so wtf corsair !! after just one year !!
Best budget: Arctic P12 (3 pin), currently $24 for a 5 pack. Or $35 for a 5 pack of the 4 pin PWM version. Best performance: Phanteks T30, $86 for a 3 pack or $31 for an individual fan. Best value (price to performance): Probably the Arctic P12 Max, which is $9 per fan, but it might have quality control issues so I'd avoid it for now.
The Corsairs are way overpriced. Terrible performance and proprietary connectors. IDK if there is any alternative to the iCue software for Linux anyways. I like the Cooler Master and Lian Li fans the most. Good aesthetics and airflow performance.
The Lian LI Software is absolute crap. I really love their fans and the design is very cool, but the rgb software is able to freeze my pc completely, doenst start on startup every time and loses the rgb setting from time to time. I dont understand why they dont invest more in their poor software....
The li lan infinity fan is another one I'd suggest. only thing different is the RGB is more. And I really feel like for a good budget cooler master isn't bad. but not mentioning thermaltake is a crime. they do a lot of options for about the same price. And as a Corsair fan user after I broke one fans RGB cable I now only have a RGB case 😂 one fan cost the same for a set of fans that doesn't need a big old Corsair fan hub I was young Also my case is a Corsair alpha Omega like the one in the end of the movie free Guy love the ascetics. but lacks airflow and cable stuffing room is a struggle. so if you're case is similar dodge the fan hubs.. Hopefully this helped someone and aye don't take my word for it. Do some of your own research.

Agree. I'm between Arctic and Thermalright.
Why lian li v2 instead of lian li infinity?
@@Justme-jp8ihSame idea. Whichever one you prefer.
Aye I just made a comment about that hopefully Corsair drops there prices they almost price themselves out of the market
Wow. Lian-li so far ahead of everyone else. Those look amazing top to bottom.
I just build my first PC a couple of months ago and assumed that all fans would Daisy chain together. What a mess of cables my reality was.
The only downside is the price
Lian Li Same Low Noise Level as arctic?
Way more expensive as well
