Team group has made a great looking SSD, that works really well as the boot drive for a gaming PC. Is an RGB SSD the ultimate bling?

The reason for them disabling temperature monitoring is because some RGB SSD drives have had issues with overheating like the hyperx fury.
Exactly what I was thinking
Jayz2Cents did a vid on that from memory
Yeah I do actually remember that. Although like I said in the video, in my tests I couldn't get it to throttle. :)
@@DawidDoesTechStuff aint dodgy if it works eh haha. Cool bit of gear no less
Love the vids, keep it up!
@@DawidDoesTechStuff 1mm away from a case fan, during a 7 min long single product advertisement, no one should ever have an issue
they did the same with 3d lite, but it got no rgb. so you wrong
Dawid I only recent found you in early 2021 and I am shook WHERE’S THE ACCENT I’VE GROWN TO LOVE
*Dat SSD though*
😁
The thing about cheap or off-brand SSD's isn't the speed, but rather the longevity. A long time ago I bought a Samsung and a Mushkin SSD. They performed similarly, but the Mushkin drive started to get constant errors and eventually just stopped working, while the Samsung is still good today. This is why Samsung charges so damn much for their "Pro" series; they know they last a long time and you probably will go through two or three of the cheaper ones before the Pro dies.
Something needs to be done about standardizing RGB connections and compatibility. Great vid Dawid
Yeah definitely! This whole proprietary connections thing is very irritating.
I have the older T-Force Delta RGB SSD and is one of the best looking SSD's I have ever saw and same for the Delta MAX.
They do look really epic!
The "weird" 3 pin header had 5V printed on it. Old RGB ( 7 colors ) is 12V and the 3 pin is 16.8 Mil color 5V ARGB ( Addressable.) That's been the standard for a few years now.
Yesssss!!! Another person who does not run their heater in the winter!
Haha!! Its so much better. :P
@@DawidDoesTechStuff seriously tho dude. How can you be from Namibia and then live in flipping Canada without heat in the winter! You Cray Cray
@@AlistairBrugsch he is from Namibia??
Is the T-Force logo removable? A custom skin would be killer.
Is the back of the ssd magnetic?
If no do they provide something like adhesive tape to be installed everywhere you need it?
It’s sooo good looking!!
Great vid as always! Thanx!
Thank you. :D
can the lcd be flipped? cause the display drive orientation on some cases like mine the NZXT h210 have the drive behind the glass with the wires on the right hiding behind some flashing, so if i put in there like it is, the wires would be exposed and the logo would be upside-down...
Just bought one 133$ for 1TB on Newegg on sale. 160$ shipped w tax and a 3 year added warranty. Not bad at all. Gonna look amazing.
But you want to make sure the ssd has dram. Ltt did a video explaining why dramless ssds are slower than mechanical drives
I think I will wait for their next revision. hope its not too long, i need anew SSD NOW! lol
I believe that this is for show builds only and that is why it has the temperature readings disabled. It gets pretty hot and that will shorten service life. Plus, there is M.2 now, so ssds are going the way of the HDD.
Yeah M.2 drives are so convenient.
That is assuming you have M.2 on your motherboard. I don't and a lot of my friends with computers are running older MBs without it also.
I will definitely buy rgb ssd because that's what my new system is going to be.i will lighten up whole system in a minimalist way.not too much flashy way.but video was useful.
How do you mount the ssd tho?
A weird 3 Pin version of the RGB. Are you kidding me Dawid, its end of 2019, and pls dont tell me you dont know the difference between a 4Pin and a 3Pin RGB Header.
wich pc case are u using?
Very nice
Thanks for sharing this. I had been wondering about an honest review. I’m glad I have my sabrent rocket. I love it. Super fast. You gotta check it out man. There so so worth the money! 3200mbps
NVMe drives are so great! I have a 960 evo in my main PC
Try moving a very large set of files over on both drives, you will notice a difference.
Also, the Samsung Evo drive has a DRAM cache. I am pretty sure the other one doesn't, meaning it will die, and quickly, due to wear.
Some drives aren't meant to be boot drives, some are.
If you want to use an SSD as a boot drive, it better have a DRAM cache.
I've got this SSD and it looks good side mounted in a NZXT H400 case. RGBs are bright enough and for some strange reason it's the only drive on the market apart from the Samsung 860 EVO to use Samsungs V-nand TLC chips yet its endurance is 120GBs vs 300GBs on the EVO.. maybe its using unqualified binned nand that didnt make the cut to go into 860 Evo's that Samsung sold on the cheap to team group.. My guess.
Shame the LEDs dont work or get power via SATA.
Orico makes some 2.5" external enclosures that are full clear plastic.
To have an RGB External SSD that you can take around would be sweet.
Bro I was looking for something like this just got two for my Gundam setup 🤫🤑👍🏾
any issues with overheating ?
nice advertisement for obsolete tech =/ and holy crap, there's 1TB samsungs for 86 bucks, not paying double for some faded, hardly noticeable LED's
To be fair, I do point that out very clearly in the video. It had a purpose, and that purpose isnt value. :)
Hi where can i plug the usb conector to light up the ssd im using a non rgb board msi b350 bazooka
the front usb 2.0 connector
Might as well use hdmi and play videos on it xP The fact that they dont have a default mode programmed on it is really dumb. It looks sick on ur build tho !
That would be SO epic! :D
I bought a PNY 240GB SSD for only 26.99 on Amazon US last week and it fixed my game lag idk I predicted it was my hard drive but I had no evidence to prove that it was my Hard Drive. I guess I just have a way with the computers 😜
It would be nice if it displayed some useful information..disk space remaining..connection speed..whatever..but just to have it sit there and glow...no thank you
I rather do not rgb my ssd drive there were some issues with thermals thats why the company does not like people testing them. A drive who contains data usually gets hidden away anyway. I aprove rgb on fans thats traditional and even graphics cards i don't really know about memory sticks being rgb, for its about the same then ssd because they run hot and need to dissipate heat and having led lights on top of then who create heat is contraproductive.
Yes
Nice
:D
honestly... the only reason why I would buy this is for a RGB build for a kid.
Americans be like, 15°! You dying bro!
😂
how did you mount the ssd in the main compartment of the case?
I have noticed SSDs are all about the same these days so I would buy that $25 SSD for the same storage size if the R/W life span was close to the 2 others.
Yeah, SSDs have kind of become commodities in that way. The cheaper one sells.
@@DawidDoesTechStuff its only good for us, I 1st bought an ADATA SSD for my Linux rig in 2015 to see if it would fail like my 2014 SSD did and its still going believe it or not so bought some more of them and now I am watching out for the lowest priced SSD for the capacity I need I think we are passed the days of bad SSD brands.
Which case is that?
It's the Bitfenix Nova mesh TG
i BOUGHT THE 500 GB VERSION AND SWAPPED THE INTERNALS WITH A 2TB SAMSUNG SSD I HAD LAYING AROUND.
that yeston RX 5700 XT
It has a mrrrrr finish
BETHEBALL!!!
That’s why I’m not using Corsair rgb stuff anymore. To many damn usb connections and sata connections. Makes cable management a disaster
Why ;-;
Coz RGB. 😂
