Nice tips ! I'd add some to make sure you win those wars, with benefits : 1) uprising cut your levies and income because rebellious vassals won't pay their taxes until you defeat them. You can counter that with alliances : don't hesitate to marry your daughters to powerfull rulers close enought to come and help (calling them in a defensive war is free) 2) mobilising costs a lot. To make it worth it you absolutely have to avoid sieging castles without potential hostages. Focus on duchy/kingdom capitals, then you can get the last percents with battles (you can get pretty good hostages in battles too). 3) timing their trigger is key to avoid multiple uprising at once, or to get crusaded while dealing with them. You can trigger them by looking at your factions, pick a ruler member of the faction and ask him to give up lands or a vassal. Additionnaly you usually can invalidate them by murdering their leader. It's usefull to launch a murder plot when the uprising starts, so you can execute it if you are targeted by a major war or when you have enought gold and can't bother chassing the 2/3 armies left running around.
Appreciate you taking the time to write this! Alliances is definitely a good way to combat uprisings especially if a large majority of your vassals join the rebellion. One thing I did to counter this was to ensure I gave newly conquered lands to nobles of my culture and religion, and or relatives. This way, there was enough vassals still contributing gold and levies to my military. In addition, I made sure to have full stacks of men at arms regiments and of high quality to destroy lower quality enemy troops. I did not think to try murdering the faction leader to invalidate them or trigger an uprising to avoid too many uprisings at once. I'll keep these noted in my playbook for next time!
Little tidbit, theres a mod on steam workshop that doubles the chance of capturing prisoners of war after a battle or a siege. After using it for a while i was swimming in money from so many ransoms 😂
I'll have to check that mod out! There is also a dynasty legacy in the pillage tree, the third one down that increase gold ransom by 50%, gain prestige while ransoming prisoners, and makes it more likely to imprison characters after a successful siege or raid. I know it's not the same thing as the mod but very similar idea
