I like how the game’s combat- even in early access - is quite realistic. For example, if you’re able to flank your enemy in the field then you’ve won the battle. And in this case, gates often were set back just like you have exactly for the same reason: to allow defenders to shoot people in the back who are attacking the gates.

It would make sense to place a line of spearmen or retainers right behind the wall to meet those filtering through.
This "filtering through" may be considered a simplified model of climbing over IRL. The walls are simple and low enough, the game is just missing the climb-over animation.
try overlaping your walls like a spiral to make a kill corridor. and you need more entrances so the NPCs wont clip through the walls :p
You can build the roads while designing the castle by selecting roads above the castle buildings in the planner. This way you can add and change roads after the initial design, or add the roads while making the design the first time. Also I wonder if straight walls would better avoid that bug of enemies slipping through walls?
that tool bugs out alot and builds walls instead of roads so i avoid it
hey! I did your methode but everytime I try to bait the army I leave the battleground and then instantly lose the war, maybe it's due to the latest patch but I think your technique doesn't work anymore

Hey, hope someone could help me out on this one! Saw online that you could build your manor like a defense fort and place your units inse the walls, then you can bait the enemy army to attack the manor and therefore you are protected... However it seems that in 0.7.92 there is a designated battlefield and if step outside of this area you automatically lose the fight for that region. The enemy troops also seem to have some kind of problem when you are tryn to bait them into your own manor.
hope someone could wxplain why this happens and if there is any solution

Please man, can you do an special for farming? really struggling with it. My oxen seem to be super inefficient as they spend way too much time plowing the plots despite the fact that I do the sides as straight as possible and with a long shape.
oxen plowing is actualy slower than manual plowing in this patch but you need them for faster harvesting. if you keep the fields under 0.8 in size it works.
It actually does seem to be a bug as they work faster at normal speed but go slower at 4x and 12x - you should see how they do on normal speed setting , plots up to 2.0 MG
The beta patch right now has many changes/fixes to farming. It likely fixes a lot of the problems you are having with farming, though it is still weird some times. But with all of these changes currently being experimented with, it is hard to make a guide when stuff is changing all the time and half of the community is probably playing on the beta patch while the rest are still on the main release with completely different mechanics and balance.
just make big plots with veggies, even after update it is still so obsolete to farm that way
All of this is fun but like, is it really necessary, the baron's army are too weak, you have a army 10x stronger than them even if you would let your troops get overwhelmed and circled you would win :P
Tried this earlier after watching. Never hired mercs so the Baron had all of them. Lost 3 guys to arrows.
2 groups of archers, 1 spear militia and 1 12 man retinue.
Get the Baron army mod on Nexus, increase army size to 1000 mostly retinue and a couple spearmen and bows but no mercenaries. The last battle is 2500 strong.

You describe your archers as having "armor piercing arrows" and "longer range." Are these game mechanics, or dramatic prose? =0[.]o=
longer range is mechanics, armor piercing rounds is me making fun of shoot at will's up close damage which is shredding armored units.
