Spymasters who are terrified of you won't ever go against you unless they get Strong Hooked... and craven people are basically always terrified of you :)
I thought that I was the only one who know about this and actively use it. And it always seemed strange that people don't capitalize this mechanic much. Also I want to add some tips: 1. Lowborn people usually have much less options for marriage so stacking up nobles is good because noble woman will give you more options. It gets even better if person belongs to some famous family (e.g. Karling). So most of the time it's better to recruit noble prisoner (especially woman) rather than ransoming her for 10 coins. 2. If you have some unlanded council members you can boost their stats by giving them at least county-tier land and they will get perks from respective education trait they have so their respective stat become highet. BUT if you marry them before giving land to spouse that also have good stats it will boost their respective stat even further because part of spouse stat will be added to theirs. All in all great video. I hope youtube algorithms will pay more attention to it.
Same here. I always did this. The only downside is having to thin out the court or landing kids because courtiers will stop having children including your own kids aside primary heir.
@@RyanofAndor I can't say that courtiers won't have children entirely but yes, landed chars give birth more often. And my kids almost always have some children. It's very rare that some of my unlanded kids don't have their own children.
Personality traits to avoid on your courtiers: Vengeful/Ambitious/Arbitrary/Paranoid/Deceitful/Greedy/Lazy/Callus - because they will always be disloyal, Incompetent, self interested, treacherous, will constantly scheme and murder you and your courtiers, will become rival/nemesis, will cause dynasty feuds and will constantly try to get hooks on you or their liege, although there is a good argument to made for your Knights, when it comes to Vengeful and Ambitious. Lustful - because most your court will start getting the Lovers/Great Pox, and don't forget that crap is inheritable so it will definitely ruin any eugenics programs you have going on. Chaste - because your courtiers will not breed, unlanded courtiers such as your knights only have 60% to have a single child in their entire life. Reducing that to zero is a bad idea, especially if you are tying to breed your own knights/courtiers with good genetic traits. Gluttonous - because -20% life expectancy. As each personality trait has hidden modifiers that determine NPC's overall personality, and how likely they are to commit certain acts like scheming and murder. They can be offset by use of other positive traits like Brave, Dilligent, Gregerious but that is not a guarantee, and will likely still happen but less frequently!
Good to see you post a video again, while I've long since figured this one out your guide on intrigue really upped my game a notch. I had games going on till 1200 AD or so and only ever used befriend or seduce schemes. While a little harder to do I found that recruiting a prisoner with gold was still doable. Make some more vids man, wouldn't mind getting a runthrough of the new activities gameplay and what not.
I use my spymaster to find secrets and blackmail rulers for money with the Golden Obligations perk. Pretty often, the secret is that the ruler is cheating on his wife with someone. And since that someone usually doesn't have any money to demand, I just blackmail them to come to my court. Since I was doing this anyway for Golden Obligations, it's a pretty easy source of unmarried courtiers to use for the things you talk about in this video
This is the first thing i learnt when i first started playing the game as the VIKINGS! Then i later started obsessing over PROWESS stacking, anywhere from faith tenets and holy site bonuses, cultural traditions and pillars, Court type, Knight Accolades, all before you do any breeding eugenics you can get teens with over 30 prowess. Being North germanic heritage, your knights will all become berserkers during battles, if you have the Warriors by Merit cultural tradition, they will also often get the blademaster along with berserker, which basically translates to +8 minimum prowess just by participating and killing in battle. Only the Strong cultural tradition with its amazing +100 knight effectiveness, also gives prowess from martial education traits. In summary: Bellcose +2, Berserker +5, Blademaster +3/+12(level), Tribal Court +5, Mentor Knight Accolade +3 Knighthood +1/+3(level), Brave +3, Vengeful +2, Sadistic +4, Strong+4 Herculean/Amazonian +8. Faith Bonuses: Strong Faith +4, Sacred Murder +2, Asatru Holy Sites +2/+10 (fame), Recruitment +4 Monk/Nun+3. Culture Bonuses: Warriors by Merit +1/+5 (fame), Martial Education +1/+4(Only the Strong), Hirds +2, Warrior Priests Learning Education +1/+4(level), Warrior Priests +1/+5(devotion) Warrior Priests Monk/Nun +3. If you Choose the Warrior Priests Cultural Tradition you will also have to get the Monasticism Faith Tenet to be able to turn courtiers into priests, Granting them Monk/Nun Trait and the additional +3 prowess, while you are at it, change your Clergy Doctrine "Clerical Function" to Recruitment for another +4 to prowess! Although Warrior Priests is a great Cultural Tradition it heavily relies on your Faith to have the appropriate Tenet and Doctrine to get the maximum benefit out of it. The only downside taking warrior priests is that you cant marry your knights and do some breeding eugenics, for those inheritable trait. I mean you can let them breed first then turn them into Monks/Nuns for maximum benefit. But at this stage the game becomes too burdensome with all the micromanaging you have to do! I also excluded the Shieldmaiden Trait that grants +3 Prowess because i play with equal gender faith doctrine so I'm unable to appoint shieldmaidens, because i dislike having 50% of my courtiers be mere decorations, as they are restricted from certain court and council positions. Although if you got that Warriors by Merit cultural tradition then at the very least you will have knights of both genders as it bypasses the male dominated faith restriction allowing you appoint shieldmaidens so yo do you! When you are done with your Terminator Gigachad Knights its time to stack your Knight effectiveness to 1000% Then dominate all holy wars with your 30 to 60 knights, without having to use men at arms and levies.
finally got this channel, my courtier wants to marry the one I want so that I can have a great generation in the court. Thank you... good job Priorityyy. Subscribeeeeeee
@@nichmeniana7015 Yes champions and Knights are the same. As far as resources there are mines in some areas but building things like farms, trade ports, in your holding can increase income and food supplies for armies.
You can also spawn court physicians with high learning and use them as your realm priest (assuming you have lay clergy, revokable). Go claim those duchies 👌
Everebody кnows this Crusader Kings 3 trick since release in 2020. This video is for beginners, for advanced gamers are other ways. Do you use befriend/seduce/kill scheme? For example, If you want best available knight in the game in your court just press C button (character finder), sort by male prowess (in most cases) all available in diplomatic range nonruler and noprison men, befriend, invite to your court or make a hook on his liege and use hook on marriage between the courtiers of your court and the court of this potential knight of yours or just kill wife this men and the try to matrilineal marriage to you.Diplomacy is the strongest tree in the game i think after my 2k hours in game)
What's crazy is you can marry off a 37yo female courtier with the plague to a top shelf unmarried man and he joins YOUR court. Its a little glitched imho
This man uses 100% of his brain when he plays Crusader Kings 3! What a chad! :D
The only way I could more of my brain is if I was playing Haesteinn👉😏
omg koifish
Please make Haesteinn give herpes to his enemies!
One good tip is that you should always marry all your Knights. This way if Knight dies his widow can bring in new Knight.

Funny and informative :)
Thank you kindly!
Used this trick since i started this game, even though when i roleplay CK3 i dont usw this because matrilineal Marriage wasnt realy a thing back then.
Yeah, it's a very game-y mechanic that doesn't really make sense in a roleplay situation
I mean it's just a means to get them to stay at your court, irl you would have ordered that too if you wanted
But it was… a higher noble would only allow matrilineal marriage
this is awesome. super high quality and helpful video. can't believe more people haven't seen this guy
Well explained
I like doing it to bring in good genes into my court
Bro this is the first guide I watched on this that was 100% comprehensive. Great video ❤️

Problem is a lot of court position's require the person to not be married

Can you do a insular demonstration for this topic ?
If you run out of people, befriend is your second best friend in my opinion. It's usually one new person each year.
