I have a moto g9 + which has a screencast option using chromecast. I haven't purchased the dongle as yet, but I assume that I can cast my phone screen just using the dongle without needing to use google home?
What if you don't have wifi? Can you just use your phone data to do the same? Without using hotspot. I have unlimited phone data but not unlimited hotspot. Ty.
Nothing useful loaded with garbage you can't remove you run out of memory with installing all other software to get Phone to work right Motorola used to be quality but not anymore way to complicated like windows 11 to do simple tasks buy 25$ phone with SD card most problems solved no hunting drivers ect...
Motorola phones don't support Miracast or even hooking it up directly to TV. You have to buy a Google Chromecast and have a home internet router to cast Motorola phone to TV. Rip off! Google acquired Motorola so now suddenly Motorola phones require you to buy Chromecast. I'll never buy a Motorola phone again.
@@jamessimpson9690wow thank you for clearing this up had a TCL phone and didn't have to do anything just connected right to the television couldn't do the same with this Motorola pure had I known that I would have never gotten this stupid phone I will never get another Motorola phone again either
Yeah I'm going through the same thing.. I had a regular TV and I was able to mirror cast with my Samsung S8 but since I had to fix the phone and had gotten the Moto G pure and the Roku TV. I can't connect anymore
No. I found out the hard way that Motorola phones don't support Miracast, so you have to buy a Google Chromecast and have a home internet router. Rip off! Google acquired Motorola and so magically suddenly Motorola phones require you to buy Chromecast. I'll never buy a Motorola phone again.
@@jamessimpson9690 Thank you for replying. So with a Moto g pure, there's no way to send the phone screen to the tv screen without wi-fi? My tv has HDMI but is not a smart phone.
@@glgartman That's my understanding. It only works with Chromecast, which requires an internet router. I'm cheap, so I don't have a router and can't cast to TV without a router. Look for a phone that supports Miracast. Then no router is needed.
@@HighIQCayden better to buy a Chromecast. I got one at Walmart for $40 and it's great. Screen cast wireless and you get remote so you get all your stuff like UA-cam, Netflix all linked in one place on Google tv. Well worth it bro. You just have to have wifi
@@Mr.Event501 I have a Google TV account, but I mostly use it to control UA-cam on my Roku. I've had a Chromecast before and that's the main reason I switch to Roku, in my opinion it's not the best for screencasting but it's really good for media.

Is there a way to use a hdmi adaptor with a moto?
I am pretty sure you can but not sure why you would want to do that. I used to do it with a tablet years ago.
My girl got hers on her Samsung out of nowhere called Smart view...I can't get this. We have Roku!

Chromecast is the worst device
I am getting this phone 📱
what about to a pc?
I bought a adapter n HDMI n still want morrow my phone to tv
This phone doesn't support mirroring from the type c port.
This is exactly what I hate about Motorola
Yeah, i can't do a screen cast to Roku. It sucks lol. I'm probably gonna buy a USB C-Hdmi adapter 🥲
