Will this work for subscription based streams such as NFL + (which is meant for mobile devices only)? Or will they be able to somehow block the tethering?
I finally had got mine to work...searching for one thing led to another...figured out I didn't even need wires or adapters...the a15 has screen mirroring...you gave to enable hmmc in your hidden settings
The A35 does not allow this so I'm sure the a15 doesn't either. It's a feature that most phone makers for some reason don't want to add to their phones. Only a select few
@j.johnson5217 my phone links with my tv...it's a roku smart tv...recently moved to a new place...no cable TV or internet yet...I been watching TV this way...works fine for me...
You’re cute as a button and very personable but I clicked on this video hoping to learn how to connect my iPhone to my Roku TV via a USB cable…when using the iPhone Hotspot it gives you 2 options..#1. Connect Hotspot via WiFi AND Bluetooth (which is what I’m wanting to avoid) & then #2. Connect via USB Only. I didn’t see anywhere you explained how to connect via USB and when I do, is it in Hotspot mode or Screen Mirroring mode? I ask this only b/c everything else I’ve read and watched, the USB only works when “Screen Mirroring” thus, the USB doesn’t work while using iPhones Hotspot even though it’s been turned on? Apple doesn’t explain this in their pop up. Screen Mirroring and the Hotspot are 2 ways to connect to the Roku (I know…just how elementary I now sounded) to stream…again, when attempting to activate the iPhones Hotspot, it gives u 2 different options BUT it doesn’t say that the USB is strictly for Screen Mirroring only and WiFi/Bluetooth is for your actual Hotspot? Does that make sense? It’s at least what I’ve deduced… but I’m not stranger to being wrong but any insight would be helpful. Thanks!
@ I’m guessing you prefer Android’s operating systems ….(which many people do because it’s an open-sourced system vs. Apple’s iOS (which is closed-sourced…which only means any changes to Apple’s iOS, MUST be made by Apple…another tidbit of info and funny thing, is that most iPhones are manufactured by Samsung, who manufactures most other Android phones)…. I was simply hoping to get clarification on how iPhone works through the USB port on the TV…it seems simple enough, right? But in my world, if I didn’t have bad luck, I’d have no luck at all, including the fact I’m sure that 99% of my bad luck is the personal, owner operator of the device…me 😆! I’ve had nothing but complications when directly connecting my USB cable to my TV and then directly connecting the charging connection end to my phone. It just doesn’t work for me when I’m attempting to use my Hotspot so who knows?
@@user-mj1pv4gn1i It's not the hardware that is an issue, it's the operating system and for me Android wins in so many different ways. It just is so easy and intuitive to use.
My samsung A35 does not have slimport capability nor does it allow for usb c to hdmi. Come on samsung we are nearing 2030, get with the program ! The odd thing is. I had an older 2005 samsung vibrant that i was able to connect my phone to tv using usb direct to rca video. What is the prblm with these phone makers today they just don't want to add a simple feature to their phones for some reason?????
I didn't even need a land line Internet, I used Miracast on my Nexus 5 phone several years ago. I'd just screen cast Netflix and everything from 4G (TMobile) to the TV it worked perfectly. Then I lost that ability with some "upgrade" and had to get a land line Internet. Thanks Trisha!
@@j.johnson5217 I actually got it to work a couple of months ago on my current phone. I just plugged my USB-C dock into my phone. Two other people had some cheaper Android phone and it didn't work. I think they were Google One phones or something
I do not have a Smart TV, but the TV does have a USB port. But plugging my phone only charges it. It does not mirror.
You need an hdmi to usb adapter for it to work
@@seadsea3843Hopefully their TV has an HDMI port.
@@seadsea3843And that's still not enough, it depends also from model to model, some may go, some not.
Please provide At DIY in 5 direct link for lookup of phones to choose correct adapter.
I'm a visual learner, video showing connection would be helpful.
"with a USB"
Except that every option needs either an adaptor or HDMI......... ......
HDMI
My TV has a USB, but this does not show a picture on the TV.
Now show me how to connect my USB from my Android to the TV.
S24ultra connection to car aftermarket Sony XAV-AX8100.
Do i use usb c to hdmi cable or adapter?
Can you provide any details on the google pixels 8 Integrated to the TV or a monitor?
Unfortunately I don't think Pixel phones support this yet 😢 Maybe when Android 15 comes out?
thanks for taking the time to reply.@@peterwolf4483
Great tips as always Trisha… You 🤘🏾💯
Will this work for subscription based streams such as NFL + (which is meant for mobile devices only)? Or will they be able to somehow block the tethering?
So you cannot link your phone to the USB port of a TV. You always need an HDMI end on the cable used. Title a bit misleading ....
Do i just use a charge cord? Or does it require a special cord?
Special adapter usb-hdmi.
I still have no idea!
Oh Trisha 💕💕💕
I have a kindle hd8 2021 why can’t I mirror the content on my smart tv
Great video learn something every day. Thank you.
could not understand anything
Me either
How do you do this on a old non smart tv?
I would like to know this as well.
Useful tips 👌
Hi 👋 Trisha.
4:16 no way useful
What setup so I need for a galaxy a15...
I also have a a15
Only the Galaxy S work out of the box.

She should have more views 🥰
I tried this but , screen says no input ????
Does wifi have to be on when mirroring?
@lbj2390 when you turn on mirroring your phone will automatically swing the wifi to your smart tv
What the google pixel pro 8 phone?
Great job, 🙂
Do you have to have wifi?
No.

Don't mean to be rude or anything..... but it's so much easier with a Samsung phone.

Too bad she didn't have a few product examples of some that are known to work. I have some people who might need MHL or Slimport
Samsung series S work.
Then it probably won't work for them, they are just repeating a video they saw but never actuality hands on tried it before making their video
