Voice over is by AI text to speech (Amazon Polly). The text was written by me, Michael Halbert. I have a speech impediment, which makes my voice inadequate for voice overs. I will not use AI for new videos. Probably will not have voice overs in new videos.
This is a wood-engraving print of a single chickadee perched on a tree branch above a tiny pool of water. The reference for the chickadee was from photos taken in my back yard. I set up a DSLR camera focused on some bird feed on a stump. Then I controlled the camera remotely from the comfort of my living room. I used these photos for the general shape but the drawing was redesigned to show a plumper chickadee. Also, the landscape was made up. Notice that the environment is made much smaller in relation to the bird than what it would be in real life. I think those things make the image more interesting and FUN!
This is a wood engraving. However, it was done on a plate called Resingrave. It’s an excellent substatute for the traditional Boxwood endgrain blocks that are now hard to find. Unfortunately, Resingrave was discontinued after this piece was done, so this is the one and only wood engraving that I have done.
Chickadee in a wood engraving print. The image is 7 x 5 inches on 9.5 x 8.5 inch Japanese paper. This print is signed “M. Halbert” and bears a printer’s mark of “AP” (artist proof). An edition has been printed for this piece but has not been signed and numbered yet. I estimate there will be about forty prints.

I made it fluffier than the real bird that I used as reference.
