Quite brilliant... I've heard this over a hundred times and it still makes me laugh... There just aren't artists as talented as Ivor knocking about these days... Thankyou for your life Ivor.
Seen him in a documentary 20 years ago and was fascinated, and could relate but couldn't find much info on him them, just watched another docu on him and loved it, what an icon of a man, I'm sure he suffered as a man but he brought something different to anyone that listened and comforted people who were maybe of the same mind without the creativity, deffo a one off and should be more recognised for what he brought to the world but then again he would hate that recognition I would think, it's rare now that a man or woman is so thought provoking in such a deep way, the world is going to suffer without folks like him ☹️
Dear Ivor, RIP. I bought my first Ivor album (yours and oblige) 40 years ago. Loved it (and others) ever since. He was, by the way, in the Beatles Magical Mystery Tour, and appears on Robert Wyatt's wonderful Rock Bottom.
I was lucky enough to record this when John Peel played it on his show in July 1984, but did not know where to begin. As far as I know Ivor Cutler was utterly unknown here in the US, though I am sure there as soon as I write this others will come out of the woodwork and prove me wrong.
I remember hearing Ivor on early John Peel radio programs. I was captivated and wish I could have recorded them. Can anyone remember if Ivor was played on the Perfumed Garden programs? I've forgotten the timeline.

A mighty buffet. The pleasure of picking the clots. Genius is too small aword.
