I love Josie's first rhyme. And the look on Tony's face after Paul's author, that was hilarious. And how as soon as Mike saiod protitute, he buzzed him out, lol. Erin
I never understood why they didn't do both an American & British version. I guess, popular as it was, the didn't have enough viewers for two? The U.S. show _did_ disappear for about a decade & there was none until they brought it back in 2010 I think.
8:47 is incredible. Normally Tony *_is_* the one to start the vulgarity. But here he's right: _Mike_ made his character that way & he was just going with it. How often does one see *Tony* surprised (at someone else's vulgarity)?
Clive is dead serious when he chastises Tony for being low-brow. He buzzed him quickly there at the beginning. He eventually fires him on air (sort of) so it's quite dramatic to see the tension build between them
Konnichiwa! Chotto nihongo o hanashimasu. (Couldn't resist...had to show off my Japanese..."Hello! I speak a little Japanese.") What I mean here is, in all of the "Whose Line" games I've seen where they "speak" in another language, they at least make an effort to sound like the original language. I majored in Spanish, so I know that they fake Spanish on the show, but it sounds reasonably like Spanish. His "Japanese" sounded more like Vietnamese. That's all. (I do like Paul as a performer)
Thank you. And I'll blame the lack of Crying Game fun on the early Whose Line very small sense of propriety, what with Clive buzzing at the mention of sex and all. :D also, you should definitely see The Crying Game. It's one of my favorite movies. Tony's role in it is minor, but its still fantastic.
lol Tony always turns Authors into something innapropriate for everyone. In this one it ended with everyone talking about prostitutes, and in another one it ended with everyone talking about drugs
@crebegea This happened over twenty years ago, and he isn't in a position to do anything about what's cemented in eternity. What do you want him to do... UNEXIST?
Thats because it IMPROV! What then? Should he live up to your expectations and dedicate all his talent to learn the REAL language? How about you take his place since you think your better than him, and entertain ME with your talent of the Japanese language!
@crebegea To each their own...I personally love Paul Merton, but I think you just have to GET him, ya know? Now, John Sessions? There's someone I never found funny at all. Maybe I just didn't get him, but sorry...he was just not funny to me.
Now I'm going to rip Paul Merton. I don't get him. He's not funny, he doesn't have a positive attitude and he breaks character to say smart quips just to for cover that he doesn't know what to do. I don't know why he is so praised. On the other hand, amazing play between Mike and Tony. I even need to replay it. Surprisingly active and funny is Mike McShane.

God, I always love Tony's Authors choices.
TONY GIVING PAUL THAT LOOK. Holy kittens, that is brilliant!
right?
First time in my life that I'm proud to be Hungarian. My country was mentioned on Whose Line!
I love how Paul is killing himself after Tony and Mike's first part of F&TS!
I love how Paul worked the word 'goulash" into his Japanese, and then how Mike worked it into his bit as well!
Josie Lawrence ❤
OMG, these are my 4 favorite performers from the early series! Glad they all get an episode at the same time.
I heart Tony Slattery :)
Monster cast right here.
Should bring this bk to the uk loved Tony, John Sessions, and Josie L, class 💕💕👍👍

Any episode with Tony doing "amateur dramatics" or "farce" is a brilliant one
Josie is a professional.
Singapore
I am singaporean
I love tony in these early seasons
Tony Slattery totally gorgeous😌

Clive is such a damn prude. :P The censors were probably pressuring him, though. If there were any? If so, they must've feared Tony!

"Big Seargent here has had an awful big hankerin' for some fine British butt"
Haven't we all ;)
Mikes shirt makes him look like a giant totoro
this a great lineup

you are absolutely right.. I like Mike.:)
That was the best worst game of Authors I’ve seen so far.
this is quite possibly my dream cast, they are all so great! (of course if they could add ryan and maybe stephen fry it'd be better yet)

His fake Japanese sounds absolutely nothing like real Japanese.
So much for the 'high brow' episode Clive predicted at the start, eh :p
*pouf* Bloody Hell... hahah

does anyone know when, along the Whose Line timeline, The Crying Game came out? I just want to know if Tony was on and there were funny jokes.
Add Greg and Sandi and I'd have my dream cast :)
