I always thought as a kid to be most accurate your suppose to set the world time to the place on the face the hour hand was pointing to and then when i grew up and got one and realized youd have to change it every 10-15 mins to do that. I thought. Maybe I don't even want to wear one. hahaha

Depaula Jewelers , I have the Seiko world time watch SSC487. I keep setting the world time to Chicago time as instructed in your video and manual but the watch keeps losing the correct time in Chicago time. Do you think it’s a defect ?
What you in my opinion forget to mention is that the small wt clock has to be read completely different as the normal clock. In your example it is 06:45 on wt clock and not 03:45 as it seems to be. Please correct me if I am wrong but I bought this watch and figured this out.
Frank Dulon Barre yes you are right. I should have mentioned it but the small clock has to be in sync with the large clock for the World Time to be accurate. These are usually in sync when you get them. But setting them causes sync problems if you don't do it correctly.
Can you instruct me to use the chronograph? When choosing the mode chronograph, do the first and second hand of the little case at the 6h angle of big case move to 0(12h angle)? When I choose the chronograph, these two hands move randomly, and I'm not sure if it is the manufacture error?
It sounds like a might be a manufacture error. They shouldn't really move randomly. If you have an authorized Seiko dealer near you, you should have them check it out. If you just got the watch I would send it in to Seiko if it is still under warranty. It is better to get it taken care of while still in warranty.
It is a watch that takes some getting use to. I love the design and feel of the watch. The watch size is the largest I would go on a watch before it got annoying. Things I wasn't crazy about was all the functions. I know there are a lot of people who love lots of functions on their watch, but I'm not one of them. The watch is great overall, I like the metal band better then the rubber one that they put on the first version of this watch. I do believe that it is a great sports watch, but won't look good in a business setting.
It is an overall good watch than the other Seiko Prospex world timers, but I have a lot more people interested in the Seiko Coutura World timers with Radio Sync. I would take a look at some of those before you get the SSC508.

It sounds like a might be a manufacture error. They shouldn't really move randomly. If you have an authorized Seiko dealer near you, you should have them check it out. It is a lot easier to use. Plus the Radio Sync works wonders.
