I just purchased the ssg010 yesterday. Thank you very much for this video. The instructions were very confusing. I also thought that it was not working correctly due to the second hand not turning. I now have my time and date set correctly and I am very pleased. Thank you and keep up the good work.
Bought this watch back in 2016 (worked for Seiko / Epson) and it has become my favorite watch. I have an army of Invictas (collector) and this one is still on top.

Excellent and informative video. This is a life saver. I had repacked the SSG009 I just bought, ready to be returned because it was sent without instructions and I thought the watch always stopped working because the Second hand always stopped. I learnt how to manually set the time and date. Cheers!!
Always appreciate this video. My Seiko Cultura is part of a large watch rotation, so each time I wear it I need to make small adjustments. Daylight saving time for example.

Great video, very helpful. Just one thing. I have the SSG010, the second hand (the big main one) does work. After getting all your settings in, push the button at the 2 O’clock position (C?) one click and the second hand starts it’s normal sweep.

Oh thanks man! I same watch the stainless one and I have issue on setting the time. Most specially here in Canada that you need to adjust time twice a year.

@@joemarigaray4446 I would but I would not know how to do a proper review and don't know the watch in detail as most other reviewers would. All I can say is the watch is worth it especially now that there seems to be discounts on it from places like Kohl's if you wait for a sale and get a 30% off
I've got the SSG001, a slightly larger pilot watch. Same movement, same operation. For some reason, the radio sync doesn't work for me here in Chicago, so I do have to manually set it every couple of weeks. Very simple; pull out the stem to position two, the watch zeros the running seconds and advances the minute hand. Push the stem in at :00, and you're back in business. It runs a bit fast, no more than a second or two per week. Other than that, it's a really cool looking piece, well made, very accurate, even without the radio sync. I would have preferred a brushed or a matte finish. I took it off the bracelet. and wear it on a NATO.
I have the same watch (SSG001), and I travel all over the world. It has never once updated for me automatically. I honestly don't think this feature works on this particular watch.
@@tnogales You probably have to be VERY close to the signal for these to update.. The GPS watches don't have this problem, They seem to work everywhere.
Much prefer the Citizen eco drive perpetual calendar sapphire series Just needs setting to an approximate city and it sets everything else perfectly forever
What about daylight saving time, seems like the watch will be a mess if traveling during the days countries use to change it. Similarly, what would happen if I change to of hemisphere, would I have to fake my time zone in order to have daylight saving time? I don't really get how these watches work.

@Jason Roecker Mine was working fine until daylight savings time change, now for some reason it has to be on central timezone to show correct mountain time. Hoping it reverts back at some point. I don't know what happened.
Good video. Thanks. I have one issue though. After I set my time zone which is NYC, my chronograph hand goes back to the Anchorage position instead of going back to 12. Why, and how do I get it to go back to 12?
I have a ssg019. & my second hand don't move. Randomly it will go around once or twice. Then stop again. Also. I have to pull the crown out one notch & push it back in to use my a & b button. I should be able to push a & out tell me if i received signal or not & & holding it down i can adjust the dst / world tone. & b button held down allows setting the 2nd time zone clock. But neither work with out pulling the crown out first. & i don't think I'm supposed to have to.
So what about the small minute hand, does it not coordinate with the larger minute hand? Also, when setting the time, my second hand points to dcf77 rather than 12. I'm wondering if someone messed with the watch as I bought it used. Oh I have the ssg010

I recently bought my 2nd Coutura from a Retailer Friend of mine. It's a SSG 010. It had never been sold or worn and sat in the box ( new ) in a drawer for 7+ years ( its a 2016) It is totally dead . . . I mean DEAD. I knowingly bought it this way. Won't run, won't charge so of course it won't reset. I have given it 10hrs of outdoor recharge . . . No Signs of Life sofar. I have a new and Expensive $73 Capacitor ( Seiko 3022-65Y ) coming from CA for it in hopes that might be the problem. Seemed to be the most likely cause to me ??? Any Expert Help/Advice would be Greatly Appreciated. P.S. My other one is a Jimmy Johnson Special Edition /Blue Dial / 2 Button that I have had for 4yrs and I am well aware of how it operates. Both Look Pristine . . . I rarely wear them and mostly keep them in the window. ? Question ? : Is there a more reasonably priced compatible capacitor other than the 3022-65Y. Both of my Coutura' have the same 8B92 Movement . . . Thanks To ALL . . . Wish Me LUCK.
Hello. My watch model is ssg009. The time is toward 15:10 and it rotates every 5 seconds in the order of H, Y, N, and L. It doesn't recognize even if I press the button. May I know what the problem is?

I have a jimmy Johnson special edition solar chronograph. How do I recharge it. I put it out in the sun light but to no avail can I get it to work. Your input would greatly appreciated.

I was able to adjust the time and date with your instruction but my date somehow stuck in the middle between two dates. Not sure why. Please help!

You might have to change the time zone to 1 hour ahead of your time zone to correct this.
