Great review. I used to own the original Pogue, but sadly, it was stolen from me a number of years ago. Until a true Pogue reissue comes along, this will certainly do. I ordered one from a Japanese retailer. Can't wait to get it.
I appreciate the time you put into the video reviews. Quick clarification question; on the bottom sub dial that doubles as a reserve meter is that a 60 minute counter? Thank you
I don't think this is a Special Edition; AFAIK, SE Seikos (such as the PADI and Save the Ocean ranges) normally have 'Special Edition' inscribed on the caseback. Also, somewhat strangely, Seiko have now removed all references to 'Pogue' in both the name and description of this watch (which, when first announced, appeared in both locations).
@@EricSloferwatchreviews Thanks for the info. Are you sure though, as (in the UK at least) I can't see any mention of it being a Special Edition anywhere (and as mentioned, it's not written on the caseback)? Also, any thoughts as to why the 'Pogue' references may have been removed from Seiko's marketing blurb? Edit: Seiko Boutique Budapest's You Tube channel says (via auto-translate) that the watch will only be available for 2024. Is that the info you have as well? If so, that seems like a pretty short time period, especially considering we're already over halfway through the year! Cheers!
From the stand point of view i wouldn't buy it because the caliber cannot be adjusted from what I've heard (regulated) due temperature changes as it's not thermo compensated, aside, for the price the bezel aluminum ring being aluminum would be great if it were ceramic instead.
The official name of aluminium has been changed in the past so it would more closely fit other element names like titanium and radium, so it differs around the world. Some use the old name (aluminum).
That would be a chunky and incredibly expensive watch. Now we got an affordable and reliable alternative. For everyone else there are enough original Pogues in the wild.
I like it. Im not obsessed with the original though, so this use of the same colour palette in a modern design works just fine for me.
I'm loving this series of Speedtimers.
Very nice, the dial makes it pop.

Great review, nice job!
I already have 2 Speedtimers but find this color pattern irresistible. Looks like I'm going to have 3 Speedtimers.

Pity the red didn't go to four o'clock like on the SKX009 instead of just three. Still, a very nice watch.
Is the crown screw down or push pull?
Push pull
I have purchased one Seiko SSC947P1 why is my model number different
Seiko uses different numbers depending on what market you're in
These aren’t limited edition are they?
Special so they're not forever

Idiot
Nice video!... but I don't believe that this is a "special edition" but rather a regular production reference.
Too bad it's not a proper reissue. But still, it's a beautiful watch.
Al-u-min-e-um.
😂😂😂 Smarty pants
That's the UK's pronunciation, which differs from the NA pronunciation.

Why on earth did they not make this re-edition of their classic watch with a mechanical movement !?!
because it will cost $2000
So disappointed that this looks like nothing like the original.
Boo hoo
Too bad it is not mechanical like the original Pogue.
Thats my only beef with it.

Original POGUE was a auto...
Solar power…👎🏻
