Great video. I've upgraded 3 times so far on numerous motors for this model, first replacing with the 190cc and then the upgraded 223cc ( which takes care of the underpowered problem for the most part ) but with maybe 20 hrs on the 223cc the choke plate went thru the carb into the engine.....Briggs covered it but at the shop I was at they had this collecting dust, brand new and Kawasaki with the warranty for what you paid for yours. I agree with the power on the Fj but I think the reliability is the real factor. Half of the Briggs motor ( 223cc or 190cc) is plastic on the inside...the Kawasaki is not....let me also mention that I own 5 of these as new as a year old back to the first generation about 10 yrs ago....p.s.....swap the transmission...they go for $85 now and take an hr to install 🖒
Try mowing perpendicular to the way you mowed that. Based off the shadows, it looks like the sun isn't going to give you the pop you want in the stripes. Best to aim at the sun.
I don't use the mower to mulch but I suppose that's a loaded question as it depends on grass type, height, and wetness. But so far it's been a step up in power from the Briggs
My spec sheet says he kawi is rated at 6hp. Not sure where you found the number but would love a link. I find it to be a little more powerful than the Briggs but still underpowered. This thing needs more like 8hp. However, I'm sure more power wouldn't do the transmission any good either.

I also installed the motor in my machine
How do you like it?
@@diytito8165 I also installed the motor in the Timemaster
I think 🤔 he also installed this same motor on his machine
i have a suspicion hes put it on before
Kind of a weird question but are you living in Massachusetts just noticed the plate obviously I know what it looks like because I live up there
Just curious... what was the reason for engine swap? IMO the engine is no where near the biggest issue with the time master
Yes transmission woes as well. The engine on mine went so I decided to try this route.
Is this a direct bolt on engine or did you have to make any modifications. And did you have to do anything with the throttle and blade engagement?
I have another video on my channel that explains what I did exactly to get it to work. check it out there!
@@diytito8165 Thanks
Does it have enough power to mulch?

I have the 190cc Version and it’s underpowered as is. Kawi is rated at 4.5HP...any issues?

I was thinking of doing the same thing, does the lawn mower feel heavier, did you also change the transmission
Transmission has not been changed and the mower feels about the same. Haven't mowed much this summer. No rain...
I have the kohler 200cc and I feel it is still under powered.
It does you are right. The new Briggs I hear has a little more power and would love to the that one
