I got my time master yesterday and i followed the setting up instructions step by step but i noticed when after starting the unit when i try to engage the blade the machine either stalls or choke as if its about to stall.. how do i fix that
Superb demonstration. I bought a Time Master to save me time mowing. Watched this video to save me time from pouring over a manual. Well done, laddies!
The TimeMaster debuted in 2011 at $999, but soon after went to $1099. Now 12 years later it’s gotten a bigger 10 hp motor and more durable transmission. Add to that inflationary pressures in labor, materials and freight and here we are at $1599. No other manufacturer has brought anything to the market that competes with a residential 30” cut, because they can’t build anything like it for the price. I agree the price stings but so does my bill at the grocery store.
Ceramic coating will definitely prevent grass from sticking under the mower deck, however, only for the first mow. After continually using your mower for a while, that coating is eventually gonna come of because of the sand.
I spray silcone every week in season prior to cutting and it works great for me. I do not use the wash port. I prefer to use my hand on any grass residue that silcone left behind.
So my question is I got one and love it but then first time it held the stop button down it had a loud pop....you video at time 9:52 sounded like it did it too..is that normal???
No you’ll be OK, as long as it’s less than 1/4” higher. More than that means it already had oil in it and you need to take some out to get it to the proper level
My 30 inch mower is 2023. Yesterday when I tried using it, the blades would not engage. It was fine the last time I used it. What's wrong? How can I fix it?
Had my timemaster a year now, there's a squeak noise like a fan belt on a car when i push the mower up an incline or thick long grass, I've tried adjusting the tension. Is it time for a new drive belt?
Hi Chris, It sounds like the problem is most likely with your drive belt. On the 30" homeowners, the only thing that connects the engine to the transmission is your Drive belt. So most likely it's that belt that is causing the squeaking. However, it could also be just a loose spring.
I can't believe you said the blue sponge doesn't affect the amount of gas? Yes. It's the same size as the tank. How does that not take away from fuel?? It seriously takes up almost a half pint. I filled mine up and took out the blue slowly and I gsd to add a good bit to it
Your right I should have said the effect of the sponge is almost negligible. Think about squishing that sponge in a compactor, it would likely compress to the size of a small match box. I would bet the volume would be reduced by an ounce at most.
Paul, glad you enjoyed the video. We are always striving towards improving our video experiences to fit our viewer's needs more closely. Thank you for the feedback.
‘To fit your viewers needs more closely’ Do viewers need music while you are delivering content? If yes, what has the American viewer come to? Most videos have a branded format including graphics flash images and sexy guitar riff. An image. Now they need over dubbing of music as well? Come on guys. Too much entertainment to fit needs for information.
Why does the hdx have a smaller engine then this mower? Seems counterintuitive since this has a larger engine yet smaller gas tank. Engineers usually lack common sense 🤐
It’s an engine option problem, there isn’t a commercial duty American made vertical shafted engine in the 9-12 hp range (that I’m aware of). They could go with a Honda GXV390 (13hp) but that engine has a large footprint, it’s heavier and a lot more expensive, it would probably increase the price of the TurfMaster $300+. The engineers get a lot of voice of customer and weigh a ton of factors when building these machines. The 10hp Briggs is fine for home use but not tough enough for a commercial machine.
make sure to take the cheap ass foil all the way off of the briggs oil bottle and not just push it down like me only to watch it fall of while putting the oil and go down into the crank case.
First thing you do with a new TM, is yank that stupid blue sponge out of the gas tank. Was a gimmick repair from Toro, to supposedly control "sloshing fuel" in the tank, that could starve fuel to engine....STUPID! Remove that blue sponge

It sounds like you may be engaging the clutch to quickly, try bringing back the blade engagement handle nice and slow.
@@mainstreetmower thanks for your prompt response.. i tried doing it slowly but im still experiencing the issue
I'm having that exact problem now. How did you ever fix it?? Help!!
I am a retired dental hygienist and just purchased this same model Toro. Your video is the best educational video on how to use this Toro. Thank you.
Thank you Lynne. We're glad you enjoyed it.

I'm on my 2nd Toro Time Master, it was great news that Toro decided to raise the price of the mower 50% ($999 - 1599.00) Thanks Toro!! Ridiculous

Just purchased a time master and was hoping to find a video on set up. Bingo! Excellent video. Earned a sub. Thank you.
Thank you so much for your support for the channel. This is what keeps us making more videos for you 🙂
What a great job of explaining every possible question that I had. Well done!!!!
Thank you Johnny, we're glad we could be of help.

That was the best orientation video on this mower on you tube. I wish I lived near you guys.
Thanks you Bart!
great video! My timemaster will be delivered next week, and now I'm ready to use it!
Woohooo! Enjoy your new mower 🙂
Thank you for giving the confidence I have my new Toro set up and ready to go!
We're glad to hear that Kevin. Hope you enjoy the mow.
Great video. Much better than reading the instructions. Well organized. Now it is time to get to work!
Thank you. That was the entire goal behind this video series, so that you don't have to read the manual.
Great video, all the details are appreciated
Excellent demonstration, I just unboxed mine, thank you for the video..
Thank you J.C.!
Probably a good idea to ceramic coat under the deck before you first mow.

Thanks for the video
Thank you for watching 🙂
when you add that whole bottle of oil it puts the oil level way ober the full mark I poured some back out to get down to the top mark on the dipstick
These mowers are amazing! Can't tell if Stu got sweat, water, or gas on his shirt during this video.
That’s definitely sweat!
Do you have a video of installing the mulch plug?
Hi Luca, yes we do. Check out this video between the time codes 10:00 - 12:00 minutes. ua-cam.com/video/zaKfZ9_L1Jg/v-deo.html
Thank you that was a great video for me
Awesome. We're glad you liked it.
Good video just like you said it’s like if I would of just got the mower everything was explained
We're glad Henry. That was the vision and the motive behind this video. You just made our day. Thank you.
Thanks for the great video, i pour the entire bottle, but oil level is above the top line. Smh. Any concern?

@@mainstreetmower thank you very much!
Great instructional video. What weight of oil is recommended by Toro 5w, 10w, etc ?
Thank you, 30w in the south or 10w-30 in Northern States

Awesome. Will change oil in early am for this heatwave.

I would add " avoid ethanol gas" in all your lawn equipment!
What kind of fuel is recommended?
Ethanol free is always best. Second to that is fresh high test stored in a sealed gas can, and try to use and refill in less than 3 months time.
Can you put a larger fuel tank on there
Unfortunately not
@@mainstreetmowerI've seen a couple videos about people adding a tank but I wasn't sure if Toro came out with that tank for it
@@nickikarr2613
You can but it is a pain in the....to add.
Use non-ethanol and you will get max fuel life....maybe as much as 20% extra fuel tank use.
