I don't call it the greatest Ghostbusters toy of all time, I call it the greatest Ghostbusters _collectible_ of all time. Then again, I call action figures collectibles, or a little pieces of art. Guess I'm fancy pretentious that way lol. But that life-size Terror Dog head you got mounted is _pretty_ sweet.
The reasons for me not getting this were good. Alas, I wish I had been less responsible! Looks awesome. Happy for everybody who got one for sure.
Genuine quality production video. There’s a lot of unboxing videos going out at the moment, but this one was top tier! Really enjoyed it Craig, and thanks for the tag at the beginning too - much appreciated! 😉

Just got mine, its immense! Some fans reporting the first wave neutrona wands dont fit the v plate on the pack. Both my wand and pack are first phase preorders and fit fine. I think some of the v plates may need 'gentle persuassion'. Seen some of the modders hitting it already, having the cyclotron lights go the opposute way and keeping the pack on permanently instead of having the 30sec shutoff. Readly dont jnow why hasbro didnt include that. But its a great piece and you van bet the pke, trap, goggle will be next. Personally id like to see the giga meter, venkmans ghost sniffer and, screw it the containment unit to wall mount next to the pack, bring it on!! All the best from 🏴

After waiting over a year and spending almost $600 (pack, wand, ALICE frame, etc) I would say this is pretty much what I expected it to be. It's fairly accurate to the movie it's based on, lights and sounds are great. It feels right. For a product that was mass produced I can't really expect more than what we got.
That being said, the hose feels too light and seems to get in the way instead of laying properly. On mine it likes to stick out more than it should and could use more weight to it to feel like it is full of wires. It's a minor thing to complain about, but it doesn't quite feel right. Also, I can't seem to get the wand back onto the pack while wearing it, but then again I don't think we ever saw the Ghostbusters re-holster their wands while wearing the packs (at least not the movie versions). Sp that's probably just a limitation of the pack itself, not the replica.
Now what we REALLY need is an Afterlife PKE meter with taser mode and a trap replica. I know Matty did them before, but considering over 21k sold of the pack, I can't imagine Hasbro would have a hard time selling a PKE meter or trap.
No in the movies they hung them of there fobs that hung off there gun belts. And I hope they do those but if they do a trap it may be the rtv tho that would be cool
@Travis Potter yeah, I was watching scenes from the first movies and realized they never reholster their wands on camera. It's great that they included the hook for the belt in the hasbro wand.
I hope they don't do an RC trap, unless the RC parts can be easily removed and turn it into a regular trap. What I really want is a replica of the pedal in addition to the trap.
With the new movie, I expect to see a trap with new addons (similar to the video game) and that will likely be the trap we see get made.
@@WiGgYof09 the hook wasn't meant to hang from there belt but came in handy on set before the hook was there they had a hard time in holstering the wand the hook was in place to push it out enough to free it up to pull it off the pack
I bet Mattel is kicking themselves right now.

Mine arrives tomorrow (1-20-23) and I plan on doing a complete repaint and mod to an '84 pack.
I got mine on the 17th, finally powered it on yesterday. A neat feature I found is if you power your pack on in 1984 mode then disconnect the ribbon cable it plays the sound of the containment unit being shut down.
The only thing Hasbro could do to top this would be if they did a Real Ghostbusters pack. Even in the fan built community you don't see many of those floating around and I know I'd be all over it Hasbro were to do it.
There is actually a plastic wrap around the vent. It’s had to notice but it’s there.

Honestly pisses me off, what's the point of collecting if Hasbro locks stuff like this behind one-time campaigns
I think it's the logics of storing these things. They're massive! Retailers would have a nightmare of a time placing them in their stores.
The positive to the crowdfunding is there now exist a mold. If they make another run, I'll be sure to drop money for a second one!
@@nerdloftgaming I bet they do an 84 pack that has less features. All they’d need to do is have it be able to turn on and connect to the wand.
Ayyyyye, you got the same frame I did. The Fox Outdoor LC1 fit perfectly. Like $70 on Amazon. I recommend it to folks looking for one.

I'm glad it was a "crowd fund" project because I feel if it had been released for general sale, the scalper/bots would have snapped all of them up within the first 2 minutes

Getting one of these packs will costs higher then a grand and not less then $800 and without a wand i paid $250 for a spirit halloween proton pack and modded ut all out and soon i found a good deal on the hasbro ghostbusters proton pack and will be modify it out 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

I love it. I’ve wanted one since I was 4. The RGB pack was great for me as a child of course but when I hit my late teens and twenties I was convinced I’d build or buy a custom pack. Here it is 20+ years later and I never have gotten a custom pack. This pack is pretty amazing for the price. Great for display, robust enough to use for cosplay, has some cool features, like the cyclotron opening and seems for the most part to be a great pack to customize if you choose. Hasbro might deserve a sad comment here or there but I think they did great with this for the most part. And they came through ahead of the ordinal projected release date so that is a plus also.
I really hope at some point Hasbro puts out a more basic pack for people that missed out on this one, especially since they still make the wand.

What about the atrocious rumble motor? What about the vestigial switch? What about the AM radio sound fidelity? Oh, right... no critical commentary.
It's a toy.
The vestigial switch is movie accurate, it's on the actual prop.
The rumble was never a selling feature. The speakers is upgradable. The vestigial switch has been on the proton packs since the first movie.
@@nerdloftgaming right. The rumble was a nice add and they include a switch to turn it off. The two criticisms I have are the cable yellow cable sleeve (I just took it off for now), and the relatively short auto shutdown time. Still, this is an amazing product and stands up well next to my custom pack.
