    I’ve just bought this for my two week trip to Thailand in December.
    Last year we did three weeks and I took a regatta 70L. It was so stiff and annoying to lug around. Ended up with a lot of back pain.
    This time I’m packing lighter and more compact. I think this pack will be perfect.

    Thanks, Christine. I'm considering this pack and your review has been quite helpful. I think next on my list is to drag my kit down to my local store and see how well it would work for me.

    I'm so mad I can't find the older model anywhere! I don't tend to take a lot of electronics, especially a laptop, and I prefer the organization of the old one :(

      Mercari and Poshmark for second hand.

      Agree, I just bought a new one, and the features are different. The water bottle slot is now just a large open compartment, and no laptop compartment. There are also these weird dangle clips on the shoulder straps, in addition to the attachment points that I don't know what they are for, they kind of just hang there and get in the way

    I feel I like Osprey needed to include the bright interior easier for visually looking for stuff and having the option previously for different torso sizes if you need it

    Thank you for the review! Is this the "Night Jungle Blue" colour? Crazy how it looks kinda green on their website pictures, but looks really blue in this video

      I checked the bag colour with a 'colour pick up' application. It's quite hard to determine this colour. Even with a phone it's hard to take an exact colour. The colour changes in different environmental lightning. If it hits a shade - it looks more greenish, if it's exposed more to sunlight - it looks more blue.
      Color picker picked up a hex code #163945. But this code is more true in darker conditions. And it looks like a colour on the website. In the lighter condition colour picker picked up hex code #266691. That's because in video the bag looks blue (in video it even looks more light blue, I think because it's very tricky to take a video/photo of this exact colour).

      I think this is the Night Jungle Blue because it’s the only of the 3 options with light grey hardware. Hope this helps! :)

    Nice, thanks a lot! I still believe the Osprey Porter 46 is the better backpack for business trips, since it has both a top access Laptop compartment and a front organization pocket, however, the Farpoint/Fairview have a hugely advanced Strapsystem. If Osprey were to give the Porter the strap system they currently reserve for the Farpoint, they'd have created the non-plus Ultra Travelpack, imho

      Porter is a great bag, but a lousy backpack. Very uncomfortable to wear if you have it completely full with a laptop.

    • @BatManWayneCorp
      @BatManWayneCorp Рік тому +2

      @@coreygardner59 Agree, I'd definitely prefer the new Farpoint 40 (with the laptop sleeve in back), if it had an organizer area where I can keep all my other work related stuff. But the way it is, I prefer if the other participants of the business meeting I've traveled to don't see my dirty laundry when I need to grab my mouse or Laptop charger.

      I have traveled with this bag as a carry on item and it did fit under the seat in front of me but it was only 3/4 full. I think if it were completely filled it would be too bulky to shove under. Dimensions are right for it but not when super stuffed.

Still says unavailable for the black fairview 40 on Amazon, but apparently they were able to send out a few. Yes, it is 100% genuine, in Germany Osprey has a store within Amazon if that makes sense.
