I have been watching and rewatching your backpack reviews since my 10-day backpack-only trip through Scandinavia earlier this summer. I had a different bag that worked fine but being very petite (4'10" 95lbs), and the backpack having no load-lifters, the adjustments and proportions could have been much better. Thank you for this review, I wish I had heard and taken this advice and bought THIS Osprey Fairview from the beginning. I'm preparing for another trip and tried this on at REI packed with 25 lbs, and walked around the store for about 30 minutes. Anyone 5' or shorter shouldn't bother with any other backpack -- THE OSPREY FAIRVIEW is definitely THE GOAT of travel packs for petite women. Consider it like buying an off the rack suit, but going to a skilled tailor who customizes the fit exactly for your frame and measurements.
I have it in red and I absolutely love it. It’s a great backpack, roomy and super comfortable. If I had a con I’d say it’s the lack of admin compartment but really that’s a nitpick. Front pocket was perfect for my collapsible walking cane, and I flew with it as carry-on no problem. 100% recommended.
Really really good video. I have the old version of the Fairview 40 in olive green and was wondering, if I should change it to the newer version. But nahh, you're right, the new position of the laptop compartment isn't really an improvement to the old one in the front compartment. plus: my olivegren backpack has more flexible bottle pockets in the front. A few days ago I brought a bottle of wine with me in that pocket, even my backpack was fully packed. I don't know, why they changed the material with your Fairview version :( Thanks for that great video! It helped me a lot.
Glad it helped!! Yeah if you love that bag i would just stay with it, and sometimes a bag that has been used for a while is better and more flexible, im jealus i wish i could have tried the older version!! :)
I have the male version of this: The Farpoint 40. I also have the Porter 30. I can't decide which is going to be my go to carry on travel bag. I could use some opinions. I like the slightly bigger Farpoint, but the Porter seems more organized.
Yes I will say this bag doesn't have the best organization so if that's important I wouldn't pick this one. But I prefer more space and I organize with packing cubes and I usually travel with a small sling or backpack to organize my smaller things. It really depends how you pack
Thanks for the review, i wonder how is the comfort when carrying it with thicker outfits(in winter), feels like there wont be space for a scarf or a hood
Love the reminder to use the whistle in the hostel. I presume you mean first thing in the morning when you're catching your flight...to leave a parting gift for those 4am plastic bag rustlers that are trying to sleep in..😂
I wish this one had a little more organization built in. I'm not much of a pouch person. Also the dangles!! 😂 Definitely need some strap keepers with this one
FORSURE the dangles are very annoying lol, but i use packing cubes so i dont need alot of organization in my travel bags but everyone packs differently :)
Not trekking, I traveled around Europe with it. I honestly loved it! Found it soooooo comfortable and it was during summer so it was very hot and the bag was very breathable. I would highly recommend
Love your reviews! So much good info! I would love some advice :) I plan on backpacking in SE Asia for 3+ months from Sept. I'm a female traveler who prioritize comfort and accessibility when it comes to backpacking. I must carry my 13" Macbook Air for remote working and ideally would pack light (as much as I can!) Which backpack would you recommend? Do you think the lack of water bottle holder on the Osprey is a dealbreaker? thank you!! :)
Ah I'm so excited for you! So I think the Osprey is my #1 pick, it's very comfortable and you can fit a lot (leave space tho the shopping in SE Asia is so cheap 🤣) for your laptop I would pack it in a smaller day bag to be more accessible, or if you want a backpack with a separate laptop compartment the Tortuga Travel Backpack is a great option too! Let me know if you have any questions :)
Ive got the male version Farpoint 40. The main thing i dislike about this is the laptop bit. I dint take a laptop with me and i cannot take the padding out. Thete ate two toggles which let me unhook the padding but not able to telake it out for more room. Weird. But still a good bag.
You don’t find it sexy? Maybe it’s not on-trend, but I find the Fairview/Fairpoint to be much sexier than its other highly-rated counterparts that follow the “stealth” trend. I can’t get excited about those bland boxy colourless bags, and it doesn’t help that every cheap Amazon approved re-branded fly-by-night bag is also copying that aesthetic. I personally love the look of the Osprey bags, and I’m glad they didn’t dial down their signature aesthetic. I do get what you’re saying about all the dangly bits though, and I suppose it could do with some better strap management.
I totally get what you mean, I just meant more all the dangles and how big the bag looks when it's fully packed out. It looks way larger on smaller people. But I am a huge fan of the colors and comfort it truly is a great bag!!
@@GearfortheGirls Yeah those straps flying all over the place like fringes on a 70’s motorcycle jacket. Haha. Not sure how other bags manage it, but I’d imagine plastic strap-end clips would be the thing. I just picked up a Farpoint bag (in part thanks to your excellent review) and now I’m motivated to look for a solution to this eye injury waiting to happen.
So I have never had a problem with bringing it as my carry on, it usually fits the dimensions....but I will ALWAYS double check with the specific airline regulations cause some can be pretty strict
cheaper bags aren't going to have as good of materials or be as comfortable, and this bag will last years and years. you def need a reliable comfy bag if you're backpacking around always on the move ya know
Is this the GOAT of women travel packs? Let me know in the comments below ⬇

Glad you're enjoying! yes i just think this is the GOAT long term travel backpack for women its just amazing
Front straps can be used to attach a Fairview/Fairpoint Day pack - very useful as you can leave main pack in hotel and just take daypack out with you.
Yes! Its an awesome feature, the day pack is included in the 55L and 70L versions of this bag!
It’s so nice to see this on someone who is my height! I was worried about it looking freakishly large but actually looks all right
Glad I can help! I know these large travel packs always look huuuuuge on us smaller people so I got you 😊

@@GearfortheGirls Thanks for the info.
I wanted to buy this bag so bad! It actually dug into my hip on the right side so I went with the ruckpack
Oh no way?! I hope the ruckpack did you good!
appreciate the bag review very well done but it would be helpful to know what you actually packed and managed to fit in there
Thank you! I use packing cubes so i fit 3 fully packed cubes in it and a dopp kit and makeup bag, and 2 pairs of shoes :) fits a lot!!
Thanks for the review, i wonder how is the comfort when carrying it with thicker outfits(in winter), feels like there wont be space for a scarf or a hood

Exactly!! That's how you become the most popular person in the hostel 😂

look into their fairview trek bag!
@@bubblegummwitch thank you
Loved how you mentioned the multiple dangle straps😂
Ohhhh yes there's a lot, it could definitely be a deal breaker for some 😂
Please review the new Osprey Archeon 30 pack. 😊
I will add it to the list! ✅

Its an amazing bag but i agree i didn't put my laptop in their either and i wish i could have taken the padding out. i guess no bag is perfect😅

Yes those plastic clips would most likely do the trick. If you try let me know how it works!! Yayyy so happy the review helped you pick it! :)
any chance of reviewing the Cotopaxi Allpa 38?
i will try and add it to the list :)
@Gearforgirls why did you choose the Fairview 40L instead of the Fairview 55 ?
The bigger the bag the more i pack, i am a bad over packer lol so i try to get smaller bags so i dont bring as much stuff!
Is this allowed on airlines (like Lufthansa) as a carry on? Thank you!
So I have never had a problem with bringing it as my carry on, it usually fits the dimensions....but I will ALWAYS double check with the specific airline regulations cause some can be pretty strict
Is it allowed as a carry on luggage or bag ?
En el momento en que vi el bolso kislux , supe que tenía que tenerlo.
👍
Do you have a bag you like better than this?
For long term travel besides this one I really love the Tortuga Travel Backpack or the Dueter Aviant Access!
Pascale Throughway

All dat kislux bags sssssoooooooo gorgeous

Is she an AI generated female version of Aaron?! I understand the format is similar but she even talks like him! lol
