I did do it and still it hasn’t worked it turned out that i have to change the game settings and force the sdl so i can use the controller And i got another stupid thing that my games audio stopped working all of a sudden to fix it i hade to launch the game and desktop mode and use the keyboard and press the windows button and go to the Audio section in the start menu and click on PCSX2 audio and unmute it
Ed, thank you so much. I had to factory reset my SD because EmuDeck left so much clutter that it was impossible to uninstall. I much prefer the standalone method for installing emulators. You’re the best!
Sometimes the standalone is worth it...... today it takes forever to let emudeck work...... there are some benefits for stand alone based on that...... plus when you have lots of games the update on there takes forever so it's much easier to go this route I feel and I have 1 micro sd card per console.... took a while to put it all together but i figured it out.... so this simplifies my life a lot

I tried getting many consoles on there and because of how many games I had I emudeck stopped parsing due to the number of games i had on a 512 gb card..... so I decided to go around that issue...... 1 micro sd per card simplified that issue because now 1 card is fully deticated for that 1 console which means skies the limit..... plus I have many more games incase I get bored with the 1 that I originally have..... and I have a micro sd card case that holds all the cards and are labeled so I know which card is which so there is no guessing involved.....that 31 micro sd's just for the consoles and 12 handheld systems and that also doesnt factor in the latest games that you can get from steam directly factored in... on a good not that's quite a bit of entertainment realistically.... I try to maximize what I have especially when I travel..... since that's when I use it these the most....
I installed brand new EmuDeck yesterday and got 2 hotfixed update but still have problems with EmuDeck. I have no idea when they will eventually get better. I just prefer to have standalone for now since I only play 1 to 2 emulators at a time on deck.

You don't really need to add the ROMs individually to Steam. PCSX2 has a Big Picture Mode, so you can just add "-bigpicture" and "-fullscreen" to the Launch Options after adding the emulator to Steam.
You just made me buy a steamdeck instead of any other hand-help with this. I wanted to play retro games (mainly PSP \ PS1 \ PS2), but not all retro consoles are worth the pricing when you can literally get THIS beast. Thank you so much for detailed settings, it really helps noobies like me!!!

also, just adding the pcsx2 to desktop as a shortcut from steam essentially works as the standalone emulator, even though its still through emudeck. so those that already have emudeck, just do that if you want an easier way to access its settings.

Hi there I followed the steps but anytime I launch it it seems to launch then quickly exit back to the steam dashboard This is for both in game mode and desktop mode. If the files are in the wrong order would I need to start over again?

I used EmuDeck to play Kingdom Hearts 2, It crashes at the opening sequence everytime. Sorry this isn't relating to the recent emulator for PS2, but have you heard of any way to fix this? I've looked everywhere.
@@ED4T I usually get mine from the same site and they work so I have no idea why this one didn’t work. The PS2 games for me on steam deck are either a hit or miss, they work or they don’t work. Only my Silent Hill 2 works. I have no clue what to do.

Can you play from desktop mode? If still not then you have incorrect bios files or bios files are in wrong folders.
Sadly my controller is not working i can't seem to able to press any button in the loading screen for the games

Emudeck sucks it keeps crashing. I have to keep uploading the roms over and over it takes forever.

U cant tinker with the graphics live in emudeck like he does in standalone emulator. Thats why its better
@@monsterzero9456 sure you can. All Emudeck does is install the emulator for you. After that, you can just open it and configure it how you like.

Has anybody gotten a ps5 controller to work with the PSX2 Emulator? It would be amazing and would allow to upscaling while docked on a 4K TV.
I use my DualSense wirelessly with PCSX2 on my main PC and it works flawlessly, so it should work great on Deck, too.
