Honestly you’re a legend for this. I’ve wanted portable PS2 gaming since I was like 6 years old. Playing Tekken 4 & Crash Nitro Kart portably is immense

It runs so nice on steam deck, first rom i ever tested, ended up beating Dragonworld and unlocking everything. I can understand love for the later games, but budokai 3 is a timeless classic.
You earned yourself a subscriber. I usually don't subscribe to channels that are like "one time things that I need", but your work is so thorough and well done, that this is the least I can do. Amazing job!
I wanted to thank you so much. I recently just purchased my steam deck and followed your guide. The EmuDeck app is updated a little bit but overall your guide still can be followed and you make it super easy for a beginner like me to understand. Thank you so much!!!!
Not to be racist. But it's always Asian guys that make the best and simplest walkthroughs in English which isn't their first language compared to the rest of youtube tutorials. You done great when I get my Deck I will follow this video with it. And amazing English as well, way more understandable than natively speaking videos. You're a star buddy
Thanks so much, my buddy. Because of ppl like you keep me going on this channel. It is quite a challenge for me to run an English UA-cam channel as a non-native speaker. I usually have to spend triple the time than a native speaker to make those tutorial videos because most of the time I have to speak 2 to 3 times to make my words correctly. but every time I saw my video helped people I think my effort and time are worth it.
@@ED4T I'm being fully honest mate, I think you speak way clearer for us who don't understand the proper terms. It's easy for native speakers to go and speak nonsense that has nothing to do with the video and make it confusing. You speak really well and very clearly and don't mess about. I have subscribed and I really appreaciate the work you do, you helped a lot of people and will help me in the future. Thank you
These are good tips but I want to caution everyone that this goes by a game by game basis, so not every game is going to run too well. In addition, the Steam Deck's native resolution is 1280x800, so I think setting the in-game resolution to 1080 is overkill, I would opt for 720p which is 2x or maybe 2.25, which might bump it closer to the 800p setting. I've got Haunting Ground installed on PCSX2 for Steam Deck, which is playable according to the PCSX2 wiki. I'll have to experiment further to find the best settings.
Yes you’re right it will be game based tips and the steam deck screen is only 800p but when you put 3x rendering 1080p the game just looks sharpe and better than 2xnative on steam deck’s screen and most of game will run at 60fps with 3xnative resolution. So I suggest start with 3x native resolution and then adjust based on performance.
Thanks, Man! My emulator was working fine before then when emudeck updated recently my PS2 emulator stopped working! I had to get new bios and whatnot so now it works again! Sadly, I DID lose my memory card data but at least it works again! :)
Wow. This steam deck is a powerfully machine. You got me sold. I just just went online and purchase one and I will be following your guide. I was on reddit looking for a way to play ps2 games on vita and someone recommended a steam deck.
I just got my steam deck very recently with the new summer sale, and i was dying to try The Jak & Ratchet trilogies, both were my favorite childhood games and to have them in a handheld is beyond crazy! tyvm for ur guide, you were very easy to follow and made the whole process a breeze !

Hey! Not sure if you're still responding to comments till this day but when I load the game in game mode, the PS2 bootup sequence happens, but then it gets stuck on this part where it's all red and stuff. I assume it thinks that there's "no game in the console" or something, but it this makes any PS2 games unplayable. Other than that, the video until this point has been really easy to follow, thank you! Edit: Nevermind! I fixed it on my own! Great video, everything works amazing!!!
I was having that issue but for the life of me can’t remember what i did to fix it, now I’m having the issue again after installing more games but I just can’t remember how I fixed it 🥲
@ED4T I have one question, maybe you know how to fix the slowdown issue on docked mode? It slows tremendously down when I play it on the TV, but perfectly fine in handheld mode
I used this video to help set up Kingdom Hearts 2. The screens have changed since this video so it needs to be updated but I figured it out. Steam rom managers is easier to find now
