Thanks for uploading this and keeping your speeches open source too! We really hope we can start attending cool events like this. Know any in the Texas area?
Ben, I have to say after on and off watching your videos for at least half a year, I had assumed you were a bit entitled and arrogant. This talk was a lot more fascinating to me then most of your short videos, and showed your understanding and comprehension of design and your contribution. I dig it!
You bring a lot of clarity to both the personal and political dimensions of design. Thanks for sharing!
I loved your comparison of slaving designers to temporarily-embarrassed-millionaires. It's a crime that unhealthy expectations and economic exploitation are continually reinforced by schools, private organizations, and popular media. Luckily, the internet is a great platform for iconoclasts to reach their community and spread knowledge.
"Desirable to those who have lots of options yet desirable for those who don't." Love this!
I love it, thanks for your positive encouragement and inspiration.
Nice speech, a lot of really good things to note and read every f*&%ing morning!
Really appreciated your talk. Very motivating.
Hey, that was a fantastic speech, it really makes me rethink my future. You should get in contact with the Freakonomics or 99% invisible podcast, yall could make a fantastic episode about trickle up design.
i would love that but i rarely pitch myself for things like that. i prefer to just work and wait and see what happens
I love your presentation
Great talk. Sorry I missed it live. Thanks for sharing.
thanks Erik! i still want to collaborate on a wood turning project!
I ordered some materials and did a little practice but time in the shop is hard at the end of the school year. Hope to see you at the BUILD Space again. Very interested in your Castle.
I did something wrong. I tried to do tickle-up design and ended up with a sexual harassment lawsuit.
fixed it! thanks!
Stop it, that tickles!
oops! fixed it!
