As an architect student, I completely agree with you that only the wealthy get the better end of designs.
Anthony I'm 15 and my dream is to study architecture!
Even with high price tags architects are still underpaid. Also better material costs more plus all the machining costs, they all add up to the final price. I think it's true that good quality products cost more and not all people can afford them, but it's not the other way around, it's not we design to make it not affordable.
true true. But modern design also has to include environmental aspect. Reuse of resources, types of materials and simple designe helps a lot to achieve. I wish to see more top performing and beautiful environmental constructions.
Ueda's argument is that affordability can be designed for. And he doesn't seem to be paupering himself with his approach.
Even greater than your own amazing creations, is the fact that you seem like such a humble giving and nice person. Stay that way. Greetings from Greece.
Finally getting the kind of recognition he deserves!! Ben is such an inspiring person, so humble and creative!
Stay awesome! @homemademodern
he is the guy from homemade-modern, I love him! And his work
Larry Lee yeah this is his second channel
I'm a high school student still; I want to do urban planning and architecture and I agree whole heartedly in the equality of amazing designs. I'm so excited to study at university, but high school here in Australia can be quite the journey, your videos are a kind reminder of the beauty in simplicity. Thank you so much for sharing your work!
dont stress it my man, I was a high school drop out in Aus and I am currently undertaking my masters of Architecture. Its an awesome ride.
wow that's very inspiring. It's never too late to go after your dreams!
His natural voice is so much nicer than his voiceover voice. Damn, it's a huge world of a difference
An absolutely beautiful home! It's amazing the understanding you have of balancing simplicity and complexity in your creations!
Ben's smile is out of this world
So beautiful home... And the best is that he made all that things
Hello Ben. I am an engineer that designs furniture as well and have been really encouraged by the same ideas you mention.
I really appreciate your hard work, design sensibilities and philosophy that good design and high quality products should not only be the exclusive privilege of the wealthy. I truly believe that; just like Robert Kiyosaki; it's really about how we can serve more and more people. Every human being deserves the good stuff. That's why we were created. It's as if the last five centuries of Euro-NuevoAmerican culture have rewritten the entire world's view of ourselves outside of those countries. Beyond business models and financiers that essentially discourage entrepeneurship. These systemic issues keep the beauty inside humanity caged for the menagerie of the wealthy.
Keep doing what you are doing Ben. You Bless everyone with your efforts. Sincerely ...Thank you.
you're welcome
The concrete bench and 3 wood legs - he made me feel like 😯🙌😍 I can do that ‘I can do that!!! Awesome !!!
nice to see your place ! really great !
Ben, I enjoyed hearing your thoughts and seeing your space.
Love your ingenuity Ben, such an inspiration
thank you!
finally ! your loft is so great
that's what i said! finally! :)
SUCH AN AMAZING DUDE! Thanks for showing us around his place!
That spiral staircase still remain my favourite :)
Question, is it actually a bedroom at the back but you used as a office / workshop to keep the main area nice and tidy?
Nice to see someone doing something different.
full of good ideas.
great way of thinking.
Whoa, Ben! This is awesome! It's nice to see all of your separate projects functioning cohesively.
l'm in love of this guy, I love his work and ideas. ..
Been waiting for this for so long! Thank you for the upload :)
Texas Tech University Architecture loves and appreciates your videos.
Your loft is so amazing. So inspiring and now I want to build lots of stuff!
love building your stuff
I don't think she liked the coffee...
I like the coffee maker a lot... coffee can be just ok who cares....Coffee is the last important thing on the entire apartment .... love all the apartment ... it’s genius unique and functional...
I like the coffee maker a lot... coffee can be just ok who cares....Coffee is the last important thing on the entire apartment .... love all the apartment ... it’s genial, unique and functional...
Inspirational video!
Awesome! So inspirational. Takeaway: start small, have a goal
Also, think of the bigger picture. If it's not worth time to build (like his soap dish analogy), just buy it instead.
you, shigeru ban, samuel mockbee, embody what i want to do in architecture. thank you ben! :)
I want that bench press bench!
the blonde asian dude's English kinda caught me off guard..
You know that's typically racist right ? The typical Ameri-Eurocentric Ignoramus Undeestimator... heads up... wake up...
There is no 'typically' racist, you're either racist or not, trancebot was not being racist whatsoever, there is nothing trancebot said that shows he thinks he is above the blonde asian dude or nothing that he said discriminated this asian dude, he was just thrown off on how good his english, you automatically assumed that trancebot was looking down upon the asian dude, so isn't that your train of thought that is racist? wake up.
Good luck in your limited understanding "Diddlesminecraft x".
What's even more disappointing is that you "spelt it out" again in your reply and still you don't get it. The surprise at the Asian dudes ability to articulate clearly is in the same vein as the typical " oh you are so articulate for a "Black man".
The implication (and very clear meaning) ("Oh that's not what i meant to say...") is that DIFFERENT PEOPLES abilities are limited to your sad stereotypes. The fact that the observation was surprising and further the writer went on "put pen to paper"; as it were doesn't impinge on your conciousness?
Good luck. I am not responding to any more ignorant comments. It is truly sad that the new American racism assumes that everyone else is fooled by the same ignorance that clads the racists mindset, which basically DEMANDS that DIFFERENT PEOPLES CONFORM TO YOUR LIMITED CONSTRUCT.
SO IF THEY OBVIATE IN ANY WAY YOU ARE SURPRISED. THREATENED EVEN.
Normally I refuse to even comment but this this episode reminds me why.
My intent began by complimenting BEN and I reiterate that .
You can continue to abuse the privilege given by this technology. But the CONTINUED SPREADING OF AMERICAN RACIST RHETORIC MUST BE MET WITH THE FIRMEST OF PUSHBACK. Especially since the renewed upsurgence seems to give more fools license. Under your disgrace of a President and Congress.
Truly the world mourns the passing of the eras of American Leadership in so many areas.
Your people were a beacon and that flame is smudged by the general subscription to folly under your obviously racist political administration .
Hmmm... "Diddlesminecraft x" please be further surprised by the articulation of someone who speaks more than three languages fluently and understands that people say what they mean.
Goodnight and goodbye.
Later...actually NEVER.
I see that you want to be special, you and your 'more than three languages fluently', you don't need to prove yourself to me, but you're just as much as a sheep as the rest of us, you think you realise so much more but there is so much that you don't know and wont open your eyes to.
The smartest idea is to just accept it things, don't get involved and don't push your luck, just accept life as it is and don't worry about what other people think? so what if they're racist? are you really going to stoop just for them? don't waste your time and just live while you can.
Also, racism was a word made by a human, it has no existence and it was a construct made by self-conscious people that can't control their emotions so they want others to control them for them, the main reason racism stayed because it controls people, same with sexism, ageism, etc, you're falling in that trap, sensitive topic for sensitive people! (not saying I'm any different, I'm being a huge hypocrite (; )
racist! his name is zapp brannigan
Where can I buy the wooden skull picture?
i love his channel
Dream home!
I love this guy!!!
great work and video. very inspirational...what is the name of the cnc machine you have?

I had this video in my recommended randomly but is that fucking Mike Gao lmao
oh my god ben!! ♥♥♥♥♥
Amazing attitude and ideas.. it does trouble me that you still don't have a rail on that staircase. Looks great but in the long run someone is likely to get hurt. It just doesn't seem like a good idea without a rail
very nice
hey shout out to you Ben!
congrats on whatever making you happy right now! lol
FRUNITURE
lol yeah
is this all in his appartment or rented ?

I'm not a fan of open shelves. They look messy very easily. Nice apartment though
Cmon a bit loud the music
i want this guy to help me design and build my dream house..
They didn't take their shoes off!! :O
I love his channel! Watched a lot of it. The girl however is weird… who starts an interview with "I know your intention"… isn't that the whole point…
«who starts an interview with "I know your intention"…?»
A non-native speaker.
lmao i love how from a simple cheap concrete stool the next show has eame's plastic chair (at 2:07) right next to the spiral stair. A ridiculous expensive chair.
wakojako49 I got 4 of those chairs for $80 on Amazon, I've been using them for a year so the quality is great.
How does he make money by doing this?
What is this machine for 5.05 minutes?
Minute : 4:50
aloexkborn 5:05 Write the name of the machine?
A CNC machine...
aloexkborn Please tell me the machine model?
Женя Качаев XCarve

当下人人都是设计家
可创新不是人人可办到
Plural of Lego is Lego
As a person who has been into carpentry for over a decade now I would see your videos and instantly come to the conclusion you were a Ryobi (Techtronic Industries) shill putting out videos showing no skill or attention to detail for easy money. As someone who hates what Techtronic has done to the tool industry, I was a little bitter about that.
Watching this video though has greatly soften my opinions of you Ben. I apologize for jumping to conclusions.
He has gotten too many stuff from Industrial By Design
This guy Sound and look like gus from roosterteeth
Most annoying reporters ever.
this guy sounds like Steven Crowder
this is so fancy. i pee my pants!
the dude dresses so jiggy 👌🏼
Nice some normal people like me don't know how to make things like Ben?🤔
Want to see more of the Chinese girl then that Chinese guy host
i like bens instagram
Felt like I was listen to Elon Musk at the end.
Too minimalistic for me. Looks like a giant bathroom.
爸爸妈妈,我蹭热度了,这才是应该的台词~
If ur ever hiring a good learner and enthusiast with 0 experience.... Im ur guy :)
Cool staircase but it doesn't work when you have toddlers and small kids 😏
I'm curious how Ben gets around code with no handrail & balusters. Cool architecture is one thing, but cool AND legal is another thing entirely. Not being a douche here, just asking how that would work in the "real world" where we have to deal with building inspectors to get a C/O to actually be able to live in the space.
I just hope Ben didn't use as much nails and hot glue as he did in his design. I'm really surprised that he graduated from Cornell Architecture and still use so much hot glue.
He didn't just graduate from there he was a prof. and yes he loves hot glue!
3:14 the asian's calves are so so big
lol robot...
The girl is super cute.
ping pong ping bang bing ping
If you look at what he built, he didn't invent or make anything new. Probably went to school for marketing first...
