Ngl, in that bit of "harp vocals, maybe?" I wonder what whistling with the effects would sound like with the harp. It probably would've been really cool layering
At 5:10 you can see Rob make the facial expression every musician has made. On the edge of tears, he swallows his emotions, only to end with a fat grin on his face, just totally in the sound waves
I love seeing Rob moved almost to tears and joy from your playing. There's something special about having that audience, even just one, who can appreciate the skill that goes into everything that's making that sound. I've been a big fan of Rob's for a long time, and the collab makes so much sense that I have no idea why I was surprised it happened.
it's amazing how he likes to experiment without any fear of beeing silly. i think sometimesit can be the best attitude because after all music is about playing, right?
Now this may be a little cheesy and cliché, but... dance like nobody's watching, sing like nobody's listening, love like you've never been hurt. Grab life with both hands and hang on. Be the first to laugh when you find something funny or clap when you find something entertaining; others will probably laugh and clap along with you. If they don't, perhaps you might feel embarrassed. Maybe that love will end up hurting you in some way. But you'll get over these things, and doing so will improve your self-confidence, and your future self will look back to your present self and give thanks that you didn't let the fear of a little embarrassment or emotional pain prevent you from living life to the fullest. So yeah... never be afraid to try new things, even if you might look a bit silly doing so. Cheers. ;)
With your pedal demos we see Rus "playing the knobs" but seeing just how much he knows your musical style and what to do when in order to dial in the tone perfectly is a testament to how well you two work together!
I'm invisioning the craziness of Simon the Magpie messing with pedals to Emily's harp lol. He'd find a way to circuit bend a smart toaster into a new pedal.
Jokes aside, Rob actually has to be one of the most inovative modern day musicians. He fully committed to those lobster hands and made it work!😂 Most interesting colab ive seen in a long time!
Rob is a cool dude. He was obviously wowed by your playing and the tasty application of effects. I loved listening to the last half of the video, very calming, soothing music.
Rob was a great colab. It should make you visible to a huge crowd of rather well behaved and curious potential subscribers. Hoping for all the best for you guys. And it was interesting to see how much you both could learn from each other.
"A huge crowd of well behaved and curious potential subscribers"... you literally cannot even buy that, especially the "well behaved" part! :) A great crossover between two great communities of followers. Just super chill and friendly around here. :)
Glad to see how far you've come in the past few months. I found your channel when I was looking for some string/harp music to sample and the pedals is what kept me here, as well as your amazing harp skills. So dope to see you AND Rob Scallon work together. Hopefully theres more to come from this, either way I can't wait for the next video!
It's impressive how the Harp can have such a powerful emotional impact. I love Emily's playfulness, sense of fun, and willingness to just go for it and try new things. Thanks for being you. 😊
Love seeing you and Rob just having a ton of fun! Really enjoyed both your collab videos and I hope you guys do more of this or even something more serious together!
Emily, PLEASE, we need a 1 hour video/album of you playing with those effects on the last half of the video! Maybe even just some small stuff you guys record with the board, I'd love to hear it :D I'm looking forward to watching your next videos
i know this comment is 8 months ago, but the last minutes of the video, needs to be a song even if it has to be ripped from this video. it’s such an amazing composition. wholeheartedly agree with this comment. even though she also does livestream, but i specifically how beautiful that comp is.
Hearing this snippet and seeing Rob's face reminded me of just how much I love harp. Listening to and playing. I would love, dearly love to hear you play more often, in addition to the pedal reviews. Is that a thing that could happen?
Awesome, and I appreciate that the videos on the two channels aren't exactly the same. It's so enjoyable to see people getting together, making music, and having a great time.
I think Emily would do a fantastic job recording music for video games. I could imagine listening to a beautiful piece like that in a Zelda game or an Elder Scrolls game. Just found your channel and I have to say I'm in awe of your playing, absolutely astonishing!
I found you via rob and love your channel! The music you play at the end is just so relaxing and peaceful to me its amazing. It also reminds me of the vibe of the minecraft main theme and brings back good memories of that game. Already a few times just sit back and close my eyes while listening to your music.
It makes me so happy to see how your channel has grown. You are an amazing musician and seeing you in this video with Rob (Another fav) is a joy I didn't know I needed until now.
Emily really brings home the fact pedals are as much of an instrument as what you plug into them. Her beautiful playing would be fantastic on it’s own but how she integrates the pedals takes it to another level.
Watching that just pure joy emanating from Rob says so much....I bet it barely translates through video, it's there, but in person must be so surreal.....
wow, those effects make it sound like a piece of video game music without even needing to add anything else. could totally hear this being some chill town music
Would you ever considering doing something along the lines of an hour long ambient mix similar to the end of this video? I have pretty bad insomnia and I actually found myself falling asleep while listening, so if you can do more, please do. Plus it's beautiful.
Was getting really agitated at this game I was playing, kept failing over and over getting more and more annoyed. I then put this video on in the background, beat it and my god I feel so calm now, It's crazy what music can do.
Can’t believe I’m just seeing this but I am so happy for you that you got to meet Rob! I called it months ago and it really happened! Very entertaining to see!
so sick! Such a cool collab! I shouldn't be surprised that you and rob would work together one day since he's got a talent for finding the most creative and cool people out there to work with! What a great surprise!
This was soOo gooood!! Hope to see more of you guys all together again! Top-tier content👍 And Robs expressions were on point. Holy sh*t, Emily indeed! Sounded great guys🥲
I have been watching your channel for awhile and wow have come along way learning to use those pedals. Great job 👍 Emily on making it sound so beautiful.
@ 5:20 Rob looks like he is anxiously and excitingly being led somewhere, curiously asking throughout the journey if they had arrived yet, only to release a huge exhalation of pent-up breath when he finally arrives at a familiar place @ 7:14
Rob used Crabhammer! It wasn't very effective...although he did better than most would. Must be all that clawhammer banjo playing. EDIT: ROBSTER SCALLOP Overjoyed to see this great collaboration at last. Nothing's funnier than Rob's face in the harp hole. That bit where he's singing, kneeling on the grouund while he blindly plucks the low string (very impressive btw) should be captioned "When your friend says let's play the harp together, it'll be fun." See more in the upcoming film: Crouching Robert, Hidden Scallon. We should develop a custom harp for singers that has a hole hear the top that fits right onto their face. The common impulse you all share to explore sounds came through strong, plus the simple, but effective, sense of humour. (And I think Rob might be getting an Avalanche Run after this.) I hope chance allows for you all to hang out again sometime, even if we don't get to see it. There's just too much fun to be had. Really hope this little guy keeps doing UA-cam, he's pretty good at it. Maybe Uncle Em can, y'know, call in a few favors, open some doors, create some opportunities... Take care till the next time!
Hi your harp playing radically blew my mind , and greatly inspired me to play the harp, I was very touched and blessed by ur music thanks very much, I think it’s very cool you are using pedals for a harp because the possibilities are endless, I grew up playing guitar but now I want a harp, it’s interesting I was listening to these famous super talented artists in interviews and I noticed there would be this one moment or one song song that would inspire them and it had such a profound effect on their life and would in essence change their destiny I felt like maybe u did this for me, imagine like Jimi Hendrix or someone hearing a beautiful song for the first time and thinking wow I want to do that and it begins
It's like watching The Beatles record in 1967 (take that as a compliment) I appreciate the video going straight to the action instead of having one of those previews of what's to come.
10 months ago: “I used a distortion on my harp”
Today: “Rob Scallon is literally screaming into my harp” 😂😂
😂 😂
That’s a vibe right there.
Ngl, in that bit of "harp vocals, maybe?" I wonder what whistling with the effects would sound like with the harp. It probably would've been really cool layering
By screaming into a harp you guys basically made a Sigur Ros song, so that's really cool
Clearly, it's a slippery slope from distortion to Rob Scallon!
The furious claw flapping noise really adds to the overall tone of the piece.
Love the section where Rob is just blissed out listening to you play
He's trying so hard not to cry
Rob is simply embodying every one of us.
Can't say I blame him. Emily's music is a joy to listen to
I literally played that section 3 times in a row!
Rob sure does have the voice of an angel... with crab hands.....
My favorite Smashing Pumpkins song
At 5:10 you can see Rob make the facial expression every musician has made. On the edge of tears, he swallows his emotions, only to end with a fat grin on his face, just totally in the sound waves
I get Sigur Ros feels when Rob starts screeching into the sound hole. Love it.
Had the same thought🤙
This is EXACTLY what I was feeling!
I just commented exactly the same thing and scrolled down to see this.. promise I didn't steal your thoughts 🤦
@@smittenthekitteninmittens2679 great minds! 💖
oops me too. WELL WE'RE RIGHT
That moment when you made Rob say “Holy Shit Emily”…. Legendary moment. So glad I found you through him and look forward to hearing more from you!
You're in for a treat. Be sure to check out the live streams!
😊😊😊
I love seeing Rob moved almost to tears and joy from your playing. There's something special about having that audience, even just one, who can appreciate the skill that goes into everything that's making that sound.
I've been a big fan of Rob's for a long time, and the collab makes so much sense that I have no idea why I was surprised it happened.
I felt what he was feeling.
Yeah her playing is majestic, then add effects 🤯 angelic
I totally misread it hahah, I thought he hated it at first, weirded me out
it's amazing how he likes to experiment without any fear of beeing silly. i think sometimesit can be the best attitude because after all music is about playing, right?

This collab was so great! Would LOVE to hear your harp plugged-in into Andrew Huang's module wall 🎶
I thought I was the only person thinking that! :)
That could get insane.
Omg that would be crazy
Definitely needs to happen!
oh my god i need this now
With your pedal demos we see Rus "playing the knobs" but seeing just how much he knows your musical style and what to do when in order to dial in the tone perfectly is a testament to how well you two work together!
I'm so jealous that she has someone to control her pedals. How much fun to play guitar and change settings on pedals.
I'm invisioning the craziness of Simon the Magpie messing with pedals to Emily's harp lol. He'd find a way to circuit bend a smart toaster into a new pedal.
@@sparkyguitar0058 yeah. They need to make a “Rus In A Box” emulator pedal or something that can do it for you like that lmao
Jokes aside, Rob actually has to be one of the most inovative modern day musicians. He fully committed to those lobster hands and made it work!😂 Most interesting colab ive seen in a long time!
this dude predicted nes tetris rolling, wouldn't be surprised if crab hands™ makes a proper appearance on the harp scene in a few months.
That final harp playing elicited a tidal wave of emotion. I could hide in that audio. Absolutely beautiful.
Rob is a cool dude. He was obviously wowed by your playing and the tasty application of effects. I loved listening to the last half of the video, very calming, soothing music.
Rob is even more chaotic outside his own channel
Your playing and your board is otherworldly!! So GORGEOUS!! Robs face says it all. This was really fun seeing Rob on your channel
Damn- now, I'm gonna have to watch Rob make a video on How to build his signature harp. Please don't give this guy any more ideas, Emily!! lmao.
omg, a Sca-Taylor Harp tho
Rob was a great colab. It should make you visible to a huge crowd of rather well behaved and curious potential subscribers. Hoping for all the best for you guys. And it was interesting to see how much you both could learn from each other.

A great crossover between two great communities of followers. Just super chill and friendly around here. :)
you describing rob's following as rather well behaved ksjjsj so cute (no sarcasm)
Got me from Rob's side.
I always thought harp could use the accompaniment of a flappy plastic crab glove sound. Really ties it all together.
Glad to see how far you've come in the past few months. Rob is like zoidberg making Yoko Ono verses, so crazy! Nice pedalboard by the way! Didn't expect to see a so-big one for arp's playing, looks cool!
😂 thanks so much!
Love seeing you and Rob just having a ton of fun! Really enjoyed both your collab videos and I hope you guys do more of this or even something more serious together!
I watched Rob’s video yesterday and got excited to see yours out today. I love that you guys decided to just open the video with the farts. Hilarious!
Seeing Rob listening, and seeing and feeling it sinkin in is just a next level of amazing!
Emily, PLEASE, we need a 1 hour video/album of you playing with those effects on the last half of the video! Maybe even just some small stuff you guys record with the board, I'd love to hear it :D

Never challenge Rob; he'll prove to you for 3 hours that he can do it, no matter what 🥰
I think Emily would do a fantastic job recording music for video games. I could imagine listening to a beautiful piece like that in a Zelda game or an Elder Scrolls game. Just found your channel and I have to say I'm in awe of your playing, absolutely astonishing!
AHOY! New subscribe from Rob's channel. Spent this entire video crying laughing.
Wow i remember finding you through and now you're collaborating with one of my favorites rob scallon, definetly deserved!
The ease of those claw hands moving so gracefully along the harp strings lol
❤️🦀🎵🎶🎶
That last tune truly is so beautiful.
I just found your channel from Rob Scallon's video and your stuff is amazing!! I'm so glad you guys were able to collab hahaha
What a creative young lad. I'd say he's earned several bags of sauce with this performance.

What....What did I just watch?! This was amazing.
This is awesome. Totally bonkers, but really awesome. Rob's singing falsetto into the soundhole over the ambient plucky stuff reminds me of Sigur Rós
Beautiful. Made me cry. Thank you 🙂
The small fart when plugging in the pedal was the best
I found you via Rob's channel and immediately subbed to you as well. What a wonderful day I'm having 🎵
Was getting really agitated at this game I was playing, kept failing over and over getting more and more annoyed. I then put this video on in the background, beat it and my god I feel so calm now, It's crazy what music can do.
This is the collab I didn't know I needed
YEEESSSSS!!! Now this is the kind of quality content i wanted all this time 😂😂😂😂
loved in this and Rob Scallon's video how he was playing the harp like a guitar with a pick.
I came here from Rob’s channel and I’m ready for all the harp weirdness that’s happening here.
this popped on my recommended, i think i watched one or two of rob's vids a while back but this is really enjoyable.
Cheers
I feel like Rob is the single most wholesome person in musictube.
Glad you're helping boost him.
I want a whole album of rob scallon screaming into a harp as you play it
I remember seeing your video about getting a guitar so it was pleasant surprise to see you pop up on Rob’s channel!
I need hour long jams of this in my life tbh.
And hour long distorded harp too. I'm just totally hooked!
love the fact that this video exists
Emily I have the biggest smile on my face right now!
ive never clicked on a video so fast rob playing the harp with the crab gloves was priceless
Rob really tried with those claws lmao. Respect.
Can’t believe I’m just seeing this but I am so happy for you that you got to meet Rob! I called it months ago and it really happened! Very entertaining to see!
This was magical. It’s like tiny angels were hugging my ears.
A colab!! Yes! The one I never knew I needed!!
Alternate title, "Midwestern man enters harpist's home, gets crabs"
so sick! Such a cool collab!
I shouldn't be surprised that you and rob would work together one day since he's got a talent for finding the most creative and cool people out there to work with!
What a great surprise!
Came here from Robs channel, instant sub. Now to browse through all I've missed here so far.... looking forward to it! :)
This was soOo gooood!! Hope to see more of you guys all together again! Top-tier content👍
And Robs expressions were on point. Holy sh*t, Emily indeed! Sounded great guys🥲
Wholesome chaos! absolutely amazing to watch :)
This is the most ambitious crossover yet...
"and this happened"
I can see why you had no other way to summarize what Rob did 🤣
I have been watching your channel for awhile and wow have come along way learning to use those pedals. Great job 👍 Emily on making it sound so beautiful.
i just watched that episode! what a shoutout for your channel! just Wow. such recognition.
Hey Emily Hopkins and Russ and Rob! Beautiful sounds that come from craziness, mayhem and chaos should be called MayhEmily! Ride ride ride!
Getting sigur ros vibes when Rob was singing lol...2of my favourite UA-camrs together!!! Love it!!...🤘
Thank you Rob for taking notice of My message I am really glad to see it :) it is amazing to see both together having fun :).
AMAZINGLY fun to see you and Rob having fun :D 6/5 stars!

The look on his face says it all., after you started playing..I'm sure it's just gorgeous in the room. It's gorgeous out here, too.
This is the video that I never knew I was waiting for until i read the title and saw the thumbnail lol
That feeling when you invite someone over to create some serious content, and a whole lot of fun happens 😂😂😂
Thanks, y'all 🙏
That was pretty fun
This is neat! I just started watching Rob Scallon a couple days ago.

yess ive been looking forward to this since robs video came out
It's Bobby Scallops! Another great crossover video! #JusticeForUncleEm
Not the internet we need but the internet we deserve
loved your episode. harp + pedals is so cool
Of course Rob found a way to make something work that looks like it shouldnt what an amazing collab :D
It's like watching The Beatles record in 1967 (take that as a compliment)
I appreciate the video going straight to the action instead of having one of those previews of what's to come.
Silently been waiting for this.
You’re both amazing peeps and so good at music!!! I’m glad you guys could collab
This is the crossover I didn't know I needed. Now Adam Neely, please
Look! It's my favorite harp player, Emily! ...and Rob!
🤣🤣🤣
Here I was thinking the video on Rob's channel was chaotic...
Well THAT was awesome !
The flapping rubber sound of the crab hands really accentuates the tone.
I love the dedication to the Dumb™ with the crab hands... And the singing into the hole. Explorational audio 😁
Good to hear the life changing part 5:10 in. Strange that it was edited down on Rob’s vid.
