RIP Jonas Neubauer. He was so young. A lot of really sad stuff happening right now. Sending love to anyone reading this. Cherish this day and those that you can share it with. ❤️
Literally just watched this video yesterday and couldn’t help but love how friendly and awesome that Jonas was the entire video. I loved how despite having incredible skill in the game, he doesn’t seem remotely egotistical about it and instead comes across as an extremely likable and friendly guy. Now, I found out that he just passed away. This is fucking heartbreaking. Dude represented the gaming community very well and just seemed like such an awesome dude. Rest In Peace Jonas.
Just knew him from these tournaments. And right after found out he has passed away. You are right about his humbleness and professional attitude. I am deeply saddened. What a great guy he was. R.I.P. Jonas
Yeah man I watched this vid awhile back and loved it and then I got into the game and wanted to learn some and decided to watch this video again and I look through the comments and find out that he died. I was pretty bummed.
You can shed tears that he is gone, or you can smile because he has lived. You can close your eyes and pray that he'll come back, or you can open your eyes and see all he's left. Yes i stole this
I've noticed that, that techinque he used is common in piano, named as "repeated note". Also the guitar players (as I am) uses a technique en left hand to reach better hand positions or to play faster patterns called "substitution". I saw Jason Richardson playing an exercise touching just one note but with for fingers, very similar to that rolling technique.
Rolling is not an invention per se, it’s been around for decades for other games (and as mentioned above, it’s also kinda used in piano) but it was often disregarded for classic Tetris because the dpad is so small that it seemed impossible to use the technique efficiently. But Cheez is the one who came up with the idea of rolling on the *bottom* of the controller instead of the top, which is what changed the tetris game forever!
I learned of Jonas from this video, it is extremely unfornate that he has passed away so soon and suddenly! He seemed like a great and sincere person, I hope the best for his friends and family
If someone told me i was ever gonna hear Jonas Neubauer say "Boom! Tetris for Rob Scallon" i would have said yeah right :D I couldnt stop smiling when i heard that :D

Fun fact: before piece bags (where you're guaranteed one of each piece every six pieces) it's definitely possible to have an impossible set. This video reignited my love of Tetris, and got me into watching CTWC videos. Thank you so much for everything Jonas, rest in peace. Boom, Tetris for Jonas.
I love how for a game, as fundamentally simple as Tetris, the pro scene can still make strategies and introduce jargon into it and make it a legitimate competition at a professional level
Rob - would it be possible to upload the unedited version of this vid? Would have loved to take in all the tips and laughs you guys had.
