  • Replacing the exhaust back pressure tube and sensor on my 06 F250.
    I remove and install with a 5/8 wrench/1" deep socket. May gain some mpg from this if your tube and sensor are really dirty. It can just be cleaned instead of replacing if its not bad.

    Great video!! I have a 2005 6.0. I changed my EBP sensor and cleaned the tube like you showed in the video. It drives so much better. I have more turbo boost and more power. 💪🏼Thank you so much for the help. This was so helpful. I had been dealing with low turbo boost for two years now. Ever since I got this truck. Guys before you go buying a new turbo or rebuilding yours change the EBP sensor and clean the tube first.

    Thank you for the help it means a lot saved me some $$$. Did realize you don't need to take off the air filter, just disconnect the degas bottle and your in business. Thank you again your a blessing

    I’m not able to go over 40,so I’m going to check map sensor and then my EBP sensor thanks for the video,I’m a first time owner of a 2006 F350 v8,6L.

      If you're not making boost check the vgt (could be the connection) and make sure the up pipe is sealing properly. Check all intercooler piping connections as well for a good seal. The map hose is usually bad and can just be replaced with a cheap piece of hose from any auto store if the sensor itself isn't clogged up (can be cleaned though).

      I had a similar issue, it was low ficm voltage. 48 volts out is the target.

    Removed my EBP sensor. It was partially blocked. Attachment on the exhaust manifold where the tube bolts to is seized. What size bolts are those pls?

    • @SteveKish
      @SteveKish  4 роки тому +1

      I am not sure if your referring to the bracket that holds the tube with a nut or not. The size may be a m6x1 which is what the valve cover bolts size are.

    What’s the reason you installed new one? We’re you not getting any turbo boost?

    • @SteveKish
      @SteveKish  4 роки тому +1

      It was boosting fine. I just wanted to clean the tube and sensor but I replaced it instead to save time and am keeping the old ones as back up.

    Did leaving the 10 mm bolt on help get the tube of the manifold?

    I'm not getting any psi on my turbo. Not sure what is going on. My mowing crew said the turbo quit, had no power climbing hills with trailer. I'm not a diesel mechanic but learning. Is there a way to test the EBP sensor?

    you could save some money by just cleaning the old tube with diesel and a pipe cleaner. it's just a steel tube clogged with carbon.

      Weed trimmer line in a drill works beautifully. No need to replace the tube, ever. Unless the soot is petrified, which I have yet to encounter on hundreds of trucks.

    How did you know and or what lead you to believe that you actually needed to replace and or check the EBP + Piping? Did it throw a code? Symptoms??

    • @SteveKish
      @SteveKish  4 роки тому +3

      No code but my turbo was kind of extra laggy.
